I understand John Deacon. He as lost a close friend and sees/ feels during this performance that Queen is no longer Queen but is even giving up the reins. The become spectators, have / will lose control of their work.. For the first time in their careers they have to submit/ adapt to others.

My Godness, this is LEGIT SPECTACULAR collaboration. The ballet got along with Queen choosen songs. But, these was the last ever Deaky appearance with Queen. (CMIIW). These was a massive tribute for legacy of Freddie Mercury. Sure he would love to see it.

@@joribremer5260 It was his last public appearance, and then No One But You was the end for him. That video made me ugly cry at the end when he is just sitting there watching the other two sing.

I am french and i think that Freddie would have liked to dance and to work with mr Bejart a great great dancer and ballet maker...sure Freddie would have appreciated him very very much!!!...sorry for my english.... thank you for the video

I felt so sad for Deacy in this video. He lost his brother, and his grief is still so fresh. I hope he has found contentment, and I hope he sometimes peeks in here and reads the comments about him...I've never seen a negative one, we all have mad love for John!

I feel John’s pain, he probably had terrible anxiety and stage fright in addition to the loss of Freddie. It probably contributed or even amplified it. I’ve had a few trigger life events that have been very difficult to get over, but nothing compared to losing a close friend like that.
(Sorry for the year late response) I feel without Freddie to take the spotlight together with the loss of a close friend for John I think it was all too much for John, John was also the first of the band to become a farther and after 20 years of touring and playing music it would be a good time to retire so he had more time to himself and his family

What a memories!...I was 17 years old and I watched a report in an argentinian TV channel...and I was in ecstasy! My band had another return!!! But at that time i was a little bit desperate because i felt Queen was becoming a classic band, which they are, but clearly a band which was like in the past, with nothing much more to offer...and look at now...they are classic, inmortal and sounds in everywhere.... MY BAND!

Me siento trizte por saber que John quizas nunca vuelva a Queen, y que no volveremos a ver ni escuchar la voz de Freddie en vivo, pero aún tengo esperanzas de que John acepte volver. Creo que a Freddie le hubiese gustado que Queen continue, como dice la canción " Contínua... Contínua como si nada realmente importára", en mi opinion así Queen seguiria manteniendo a nuestro Freddie vivo en sus canciones y conciertos.

I'm still perplexed by those who question this Band, make meaningless comparisons, such is the uniqueness of Queen.
The truth is that there is no judgment for the choices of the heart.

His contributions to the band were so much, that even if John is not playing anymore you can still feel his presence on the stage. Pretty much the same with Freddie.
Queen is not the same without John and Freddie.

I think that whether you knew Freddie Mercury as the popinjay Rockstar or the personal friend, if you loved him, you loved him. That must have been most unpleasant and dark for John.
I remember getting the news. It felt like family had died. I sank in my seat, week. He had been there since I was a preteen, singing The Bohemian Rhapsody from some other realm of riding, music and singing. He was quite literally, unreal. Who could ever seem like that? He could, he did.

So nice to find this video. At the time, I was studying ballet, and randomly found about thus show on the French television. I recorded it right away, and watched dozens and dozens of times along the years. I might know all the show by heart 😅 Many years later, I moved to Switzerland and watched the show live at least three times. For me, this is one of the most amazing pieces of art ever Queen/ Béjart/ Versace/ Mozart 💚💚💚💚 - and now it almost makes me sad the watch it again, because I cannot re-live that sense of wonder I experienced the first time I saw it.
By the way, today I am such a fan of Adam Lambert, will watch Queen in London soon, so the circle is closing :)

@@TheaterPup but queen is not ending, as long as we listen their songs, they're one of the most beloved bands everywhere, Freddie's still an icon, one of the greatest voices (the greatest, in my opinion), there's no ending even if Roger and Brian decide to retire too.
