- 14 month ago I ordered this Model Y. It finally arrived and drives great but it is full of defects!
Most are minor issues but when you have so many small issues it really detracts from the overall quality of the car.
Quick list of issues:
-Front half of sheetmetal is a different shade of white to the rear
-Seam sealer smeared on A-pillar and painted over
-Noticeable paint reworks in the hood and front right fender
-Rear hatch misaligned
-Rear right window glass misaligned and hitting rear quarter glass when closing door
-Dirty hand prints all over headliner
-Passenger B pillar trim not correctly installed
-Instrument panel has a dip near passenger door
-Loose fastener rolling around back floor
-General creaks/ squeaks/ rattles throughout the car
I have a second MY on order. Hopefully it'll be a better built car. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
my MYP Fremont built came cleaned and zero issue.
Mine has a very misaligned hatch and I hope they can fix it. My interior seems fine. I will make a video and report if it’s been fixed.
Did they fix it?
@@gaprofitt it’s currently at Tesla and they will transfer it to a body shop. I have a loaner. I will put out a video about it.
@@EnthusiastCarHangar how big was the gap?
@@gaprofitt Almost touching on the passenger side and large on the drivers.
@@EnthusiastCarHangar I've wondered how adjustable that actually is. Almost always the driver side is larger and passenger side is better. Should be under 4mm and equal or close on both sides
I'm convinced this dude would complain if he won the lottery!!
Nahhh, I just complain about poorly built cars. If you watch my video on the 2nd MY I bought, it was actually a pretty decent car.
lol funny review. But I agree, the QC is really lacking on these
different batches of paint. I bet they didn't use the same 'bucket' of paint when they painted all those parts.
Haha yea it seems like 1 in 5 or 10 model Ys comes out totally wonky like this. It does feel like the average quality is much improved in the past few years, but there are still ones that pop up with excessive fit and finish issues. It's pretty puzzling that they ever let one like that out of the factory.
If you are annoyed with all the tech stuff why did you get another Tesla?! Makes no sense. Quality issues I understand but the rest of the video is just you ranting for the sake of ranting.
gets tesla* "a glass roof that does nothing" , made me laugh a bit
Beside obvious issues you seem not fan of car features. Makes me wonder why you bought car in first place?
This is partially your fault. Why didn’t you refuse delivery?
By the way, not all Tesla have these issues. I bought a model 3 two years ago and it was flawless. It continues to be a great car with over 50K miles on it. I have four other coworkers/family members with great quality built Teslas.
They he issues on your model Y are mostly from being built in a new factory that is still going through ramping production. The early model 3s had similar issues.
If you watch the whole video you'll see why I didn't notice/ refuse delivery. 😉
I'm well aware of ramp up issues as someone who works in the automotive industry. I have already a sold this MY and took delivery of another Austin built Y. My current one is nearly flawless and was built only a few weeks after this one. My neighbors was built a week before this one and was flawless. There are many hands that touch each part, assembly, and full vehicle before it reaches a customer to catch these issues. A new factory is not an excuse for passing bad quality.
Typical Tesla fanboi. It's the customer's fault that the QC is lacking.
Way overpriced - $40K max
Yea right. Have you sat inside one??
@@johnrocchio2091 Drove the MYP on the streets and highway and was impressed. I ordered the MYP & later canceled.
You can solve all these issues by switching the car to "off" mode, and selling it for a real car.
Don't worry... it's already been sold.
