      It is difficult when you're a beginner. The edge of the board can catch really easily and then throw you off...they can really yank you at start..I got catapulted and hit my head off the ice on a button lift in Scotland many years ago. Instinct is to sit down..but you have to stand upright...it's just do much going on when you are still learning how to actually balance on a board. Plus it's embarrassing. I gave up and walked up the hill!! Used chairlift since and much easier. Gave up on the tows.

      It is actually easy if there aren't too many holes on the road of the bar. It takes some time to get used to it because It is not EASY. At my first two tries I fell because there were a lot of people using the T-Bar, some are heavy some are not but they push their board too hard on the ground so they leave some holes on the road. It makes it so hard to handle with the board. So I got someone to help me and I got used to it.

    • @sinkinisersquad2859
      @sinkinisersquad2859 Před 2 lety +3

      @@LateDude96 you need to open the back binding to push yourself forward, that’s how you move on flat ground, it’s also WAY faster than walking and takes less time to out the board back on, basically it’s just a pure advantage and you don’t know what your talking about, these lifts are also very easy to use, yes it is a learning curve but the hardest part is staying balanced on it, the beginning is the easy part, it’s easy for your board to twist or something happen once your going and you hit an edge

      @sinkinisersquad2859 Před 2 lety +1

      Honestly, my first time snowboarding I have no problem going on the lift, that was the easy part, I mostly struggled carving and going fast cause I would lose my balance and catch an edge, now I have no problem and have been down some of the biggest/steepest mountain ski hill resorts in Canada, lots of in the trees riding too which is a lot more fun (coming from a snowmobiler who rides in the mountains)

    Why is it that the lift operator can pull him around fine, but once he grabs the actual button lift, his legs turn to rubber?

    • @meepsL
      @meepsL Před 6 lety +1

      Because after your fist couple of fails your legs turn to rubber as you're embarrassed, and really anxious! For some people (inc. myself) there's a very natural urge to sit on the bar or button. Hardly inexplicable considering you ride zip lines and rope swings in a similar way. Once you get over the fact it needs to pull you horizontally, rather than just get over gravity it IS easy.
