omg the "ooops! he or she" thing was so refreshing and considerate. thank you!
+ItzSamantha Gaming regardless of what you may think most men go into a nail salon; is besides the point.
It is very important to not only recognize that men do like to get acrylic nails put on, but also that getting your nails done is gender neutral.
It's 2016, it's time to grow up and stop disregarding that women and men are entitled to getting their nails done regardless of whether or not you agree with it. :)
+Stacey Lopez preach 👏
Stacey Marie so would you married a man that get his nails done??
Katie Elizabeth its an aberration
ladama
Yeah I would
It means a lot to me that you mentioned that men can wear nails too in this. Plus with that recent video with Grant, it makes me feel better as a guy for liking nail art and acrylic nails.
Aw- nails and art is for all - some of the greatest nail techs are male - and they are awesome!
when I used to get my nails done my nail tech was male and did amazing also had a friend who loved coming with and he was male:)
Yes! I think it's dumb that society thinks nails can define your gender. When they can't lol they're just nails.
@@tinabobby9356 lol
@SouLoveLee I think it depends on how well they care for them. They don't look right when they have dirt under their nails and they are untamed. Just gross. But a guy with groomed nails and no dirt can look hot.
That's so sweet that you corrected yourself by saying she or he. Thank you 💖💖💖

Philip Green yeah and we all know why😄 her voice makes one feel so relaxed😊😍..love het videos💓
If I was a nail tech, I'd want to work in your salon and you be my boss. You explain everything so well, like a mom teaching her babe. I'm an accountant and after watching you, I'm pretty sure I could do this. Job well done. 😘
First time I've heard Sqround. We call Sqround squoval around here.
same
Sara Filion lol same
Sara Filion So ok I learned two new rounded off square nail terms today lol

Omg Suzie, in the few weeks I've been following your channel, I have learned way more than I ever did in the 6 months I spent at beauty school. You're a great teacher!
Love your choices of words "wonky", "icky"
Heehee 😀
I love how you were very considerate of how he or she can get their nails done
I’m not even into nails but I love your videos! They are so calming and I think you just seem so nice.
Every nail salon worker (more specifically beginners) and people who are interested in nails should watch you!! You are very helpful! Thanks so much!! 😊
Your word choice is so precise. I can listen to you explain your work all day!
Lol - really eh?! Well that's great 😀😀
Thank u so very much for doing this video! God bless u nail lady! 😊
I just recently started doing nails again after having kids and everything is so different this video came at the perfect time thank you again!!!
literally the best tutorials ever!! ❤ Everything is perfect, the info provided, the lighting and angles of the camera, even her voice and speed of video !! The absolute best!! 💜💜💅💜💜
This video is SO HELPFUL!!! I LOVE your videos Suzie! I am growing out my natural nails and i know you typically do Acryilc/ Gel nails but I still love watching anyways! I still have learned so much about nail products, tips/tricks, and proper technique for nail care! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR WISDOM!!! LOVE YOU!! ❤❤❤❤❤💖💖💖💖💖💖❤❤❤❤❤❤
You seem super informed and like you take your time struggling to find a good nail tech in Maryland who will take their time and do my nails the way I've asked them too . I've wasted so much money that I gave up on acrylics
Same
Ugh same! I'm from Maryland too and all of the nail shops I've been to are crap.
+Bratzarecool19 not sure what area you are From - or live in but Ive recently come across Vince's nail salon in Baltimore county (white marsh area and they are amazing !! If u eve happen to drop by ask for Lucy . I've only been twice but the service and acrylic quality is amazing
+kiarahcutiepie11 Thank you! :) Next time I'm in Baltimore I'll check them out.
there are a few places in elkton who do amazing work. (elkton is only 45 minutes away from Baltimore) one is called nails for you off of rt 213 and the other is Michelle's nails off of rt 40. if you have time to take the drive definitely give it a shot, they are worth it
I'm so glad I found your channel!! I've been loving all of your videos!
Thank you for your incredibly informative content! Im just beginning to actively do more than polish and care for my cuticles for the first time in my life, at age 45. Ive experimented with gel polish, polygel, builder gel, dip, foils and tips within the last 6 weeks, and have developed sn irrational fixation with nail stamping. Its all so fun, DIY zen, and its great to know whatever my new nailsperiment, youve got the basic core skills I need to learn in a soothing entertaining format. Really appreciate all the effort you clearly put into educating others.
I do my own nails. The natural spa salon I used to go to had really difficult time understanding that I wanted the sqround/squoval/square oval shape. There are no more non-toxic salons in Toronto that I know. So I'm on my own and this video helped me significantly to get my nails the shape I want. Thanks!
WOW - that's fabulous
Wow, thank you for acknowledging the fact that guys do this too, love it! Subscribed
i have no idea how i went from puppy videos to this but gosh the video is amazing i love changing my nail shape
aWW I love how you corrected yourself and said he or she!! and thank you very much for this. you’re always so helpful!
i was thinking the same ☺️
You are the best teacher and I just adore you and your videos! Thank you for being such a patient teacher and such a beautiful person!!
I kit love how you corrected yourself when you said she. You’re so accepting to males and stuffing having long, fabulous nail and I really respect that.
Ew no.
Thank you for saying HE too. Nothing wrong with a man having beautiful nails.
Cherilyn H there’s everything wrong with it. He’s clearly not a man. Smdh 🤦🏼♀️

Suzie, I find all of you videos so instructive and you have given me the confidence to tackle an aquarium nail for the Christmas season! Thanks so very much
Mesmerizing- perfect editing , natural and good music! The best nail tutorials out there
hiya Suzie i know you sort of specialize in acrylic/gel/general sculpted nails but i have a slight love affair with your videos and was wondering if you would consider branching out for a video and doing a basic mans manicure video? just how to shape and care for your nails properly (im sure its straight forward but im also sure you probably have a bit of interesting input on the subject and id like to hear it :D) thank you for taking your time to make such lovely videos and to read my comment :).
Joshua Creel yes!!!
Joshua Creel Great idea! I cut my mans nails and use a file to do the edges so they aren’t sharp. The important thing is everyone’s nails are different as to where the skin is connected. His are able to be much shorter than mine 😀
Great idea Joshua!! I would love to see a "How to do mani & shape natural nails" video too! 💕
I would also like this because the men in my life don’t listen to me and hack their nails off any which way and then complain that they are sharp and the rough edge catches on things. Maybe an expert CZcams video would be more persuasive than I’ve been. :D
I love it how you always answer everyone's questions in the comment section!!!
It's an awesome community we have here - and everyone is so nice
Thank you for this I have learned so much from you I am in Maine and hope to come back to Canada so you can do my nails :)
Suzie, your videos are AMAZING. Thank you SO much for making them. I really enjoy doing my own nails, and the way you explain things is incredibly helpful. :) Keep doing what you do!
Suzie your videos are great you explain everything so well and they are such fun to watch. I've learnt a lot from you and my techniques are improving week by week. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Thanks Suzie for including us males! Some of us enjoy a little pamper just like you gals do!! I'm about to start my work experience at my favorite nail salon tomorrow super excited but super nervous, any tips for a newbie? Love watching all your videos Suzie! :)
You're the best nail artist I've seen!!!
Ahh😊 Thank you😘
I love your videos! I am not a professional but I have been doing my own nails for years. I have learned things I'm doing wrong or could do better. I've also learned that I'm doing things right that I want sure about. Thank you so much.
by fare the best shape video I HAVE EVER SEEN! AND BELIEVE ME I HAVE BEEN LOOKING EVERYWHERE ON CZcams for a helpful at home diy nail shaping video! lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve her!
while you have the four different shapes on your hand , do the same nailart on all of them. they will look so different , yet the same.
I have been following you for some time now. you are very informative & your voice is calming as well as relaxing to watch. you are very clear, slow when discribing & demonstrating to your viewers. the camera work is top notch as well👍.
as for me, i am a square tip gal, have been for 20 years. yeah it has always been my favorite shape. but from time to time, I go coffin.
by the way, do you ever do fiberglass nails ?
keep up the terrific tutorials, hugs.
I don't have acrylic nails, never get manicures, and generally pay no attention to my nails. Or anyone else's. Yet I love watching your videos. I can't figure it out. It's like you hypnotized me, when I recently happened to click on one your videos while CZcams surfing. I don't what kind of voodoo magic this is, but I like it.
@UniverseJuice1 -Thought I was the only one. It's like those people who love watching the Food Network, but couldn't care less about cooking. And I never understood it, until now. Well actually, I don't understand it. Still confusing as hell. It's just happening to me now.
I got here from caligraphy videos. I don't give a damn about my nails eitheter, but now I'm on the start of another video watching marathon.
@Emily Tran -She should do a TV show. I bet people would watch. All kinds of folks watch the cooking network who've never cooked a day in their life. And don't plan to. Although, this lady does have me thinking about doing something to my nails. Almost.
anne853 To be completely frank, TV isn't very relevant anymore, at least not where I'm from. Also, these nail videos make me wonder how you can wear gloves sometimes.
Fuckface McGee I'm a textile designer, a lot of knitting and crocheting is my usual work and I've been thinking about that too. But it would be really easy to knit a pair of gloves with simple slits at the top for your nails to protrude.
I'm loving the scrounge style, that's what I have now, that style suits my nails the best. Suzie, you always make it looks soo easy.💅🏻😊
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE your tutorials! 💕 I'm looking into being a nail tech and I'm learning a lot from you! Keep up the awesome work!!! 👍🏻
Ohh how much I ♥ your videos! Nail polish obsessed person as you can see on my channel. I love anything nail related. haha
Watching your channel makes me wanna be a nail technician!
😁😁😁😁😁
ikr?!
Same!
You are a good teacher... Everytime I watch your videos I feel like a professional
I absolutely love watching you and I wish you could do my nails that would be a dream come true and thank you for always making it ok for guys to wear nails and wear them confidently! You're amazing!
Suzie, I'm so excited! I broke a nail today (an acrylic I had done at a salon a few weeks back). I decided to stop at my local beauty supply store and try to replace it myself. Thanks to your amazing videos, I successfully and safely created a beautiful nail! It honestly looks better than my others that were done professionally. I chose to use forms. I was able to use my awesome light from Vanity Planet to cure my gel color from OPI. I also changed shape fell almond to a more pointy look. ❤️ Thank you!
Doesn't anyone other than me want classic oval nails any more? It seems I often have to explain it to nail techs..... even when they've seen me come in with it. =/
LuAnn Binschus I did that shape for years but the almond fits my nails makes them look more natural
I have natural nails , and so far I love everyone of the videos I've watched. Very informative, thank you.
I binge watch your videos and always watch your new ones right away. I was such an amateur and then I found you videos. you have saved my nails!
u got very nice mannerism Suzy. always enjoy ur videos.thnx for sharing the knowledge
Aww - thank you😘
Sqround is also squoval where I went to school. lol. I love your videos... I wish you were my teacher lol.
I swear you are the best!!! So professional but funny and informative...I just started watching you a few days ago..and started to like you but now Omg...putting in the times
Suzi you definitely are a master. You inspire me to be the best I can be when it comes to the respect I have for the love of , "Beautiful Nails".
Thank You I struggled to find my place in a career . With being in a wheelchair you are really limited to what you are able to commit to. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Lots of love from Vancouver.
Okay To be honest she has inspired me to start a nail art channel 💚

Okay, so when is the first upload being released?
I absolutely LOVE coffin nails but can never get the right shape so thank you so much
This woman is AHMAZING!!! I❤ the way she explains everything with simplicity! ❤❤❤💅🏽💅🏽
You are so clever! Your videos make so much sense. You’re such a great teacher. Love your work!
Nice video Suzie! Was wondering f you could maybe do a video on how to select the shape that would suit your Nail shape the most
Yes, based on your cuticle shape. I would love to see that video too.
I've always heard it was a squoval?? maybe it is different here in the State?
+veronica vatter its squoval in the uk
She's Canadian and I heard it was coffin
+jaz mickelson coffin have more slanted/narrow sides.
the shape she first did was coffin
+jaz mickelson veronica was talking about the pinky...the one Susie called scround.
Because of Covid, I've been trying to do my own nails. I've tried every which way to file my nails to look like coffin nails, they somehow always turn out to be square. Thanks so much for the pointers, now I know what I'm doing wrong! Suzie, you're the BEST! 🥰👍🏻
Best instructor, I'm learning so much. Thank you, thank you!
I love how she went back and corrected get pronouns. also your voice is so soothing.

+Alice Ekenberg me too honestly my favorite
Merel Verhulst ME TOO there my favorite
I wanted to thank you so much for your posts. Your videos are a great way
to keep up-to-date on current trends in nail art, in addition, you
have a wonderful way of explaining things so that while you're speaking
and teaching other professionals, a regular person like myself is also
able to relate and understand what you're saying. I've learned so much
from you. I love the girl who does my nails, she works at a great salon,
but there's a little bit of a language barrier; now that I'm able to
make a more informed choice about what I want and what would be best for
me, it's not as much of a guessing game for us both, which I think
makes me a better client. I now know how to ask for what shape of nail I
want, I know the difference between acrylic and gel and shellac isn't
such a mystery anymore. Please continue to put out your videos, they are
so beneficial to everyone. Thank you so much.
P.S
Just this morning I watched the clip you had about that beautiful
metallic powder you picked up in Vegas, I loved the look and was able to
get the same thing done because I knew what to ask for. I
liked the silver and blue you did on yourself, however, mine was gold
and pink because it suited my skin tone better, the end result was
stunning. I wouldn't have even known that product existed if not for you. Thanks again.
Thank you so very much for all the information and tips! Love to look at how you do different nails and just absolutely love your gorgeous smile and beautiful friendly face!
Yassss needed this video
wish people in america knew how to do nails

Is this a joke?
What are you saying?

+Troublesome ninja everywhere I get my nails done they can never shape it as good as she does! wish there were more people like her here in America

I love all of these videos I've learned something new from everyone of them! Keep them coming please!
Thank you for explaining it step-by-step & so clear. I always wondered how to round off the square edges evenly.
watching these videos calms me for some reason lol
Before I got to 2 minutes of this I was impressed! I am a guy and love to do my nails...of obviously i am gay and you allowed me not to be worried that i was watching a video for my nails. even if the rest of the video was bad....i already love you! but it is all perfect...thank you for understanding some guys like to be pretty as well!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!! Coffin nails and really nude pink colours it's just amazing
I've been waiting for a video like this for a long time. i recently started doing my nails almond after i did them square for my whole life and couldn't get it quite right.. this helps a lot. Thank you!
I love how you corrected it to he/she. This really helps with stopping gender roles and such, thank you!
+Pastel.Rivers *gender roles ;)
+Rimma Ananian that's what she said

Rimma Ananian Oh
Rimma Ananian It would have said edited at the top of their comment, so no they didn't.
I have been a squaround girl forever. Btw I love that you are aware of including the pronoun he when you are referring to clients. xoxo
Me too! I've tried squared once, it looked awful! Squaround is the one for me :)
I am such a fan girl. Between you and KSky products, takes some of my nervousness and concerns away as someone who is just learning. In the teaching videos, you are very encouraging and have natural teaching talents. I am an Island girl born and raised, although I am currently living in Mississauga Ontario. I gave up the island to support my daughter's recovery from a aneurysm two years ago. While I did the night shift at both general hospital and then the rehab hospital I came across your site. It gave me something to focus on for my self wellness, practicing the techniques you demonstrate. From your site learning about different products and the pros and cons lead me to the Kira Sky and opened another door , teaching how to use their products to get best results.
Sorry I really didn't plan being this wordy, but you helped me get thru the dark nights when things would go bad for my daughter. Thank you from a grateful Mom . Keep up your teaching you have a truly lovely style.
Hugz to you from me Katherine, displaced Island Girl
Some nail techs are soo good but you soo good in explaining how you do very good nail...God bless you teacher and grant you the desires of your heart
Duuude, im actually learning!
lol sqround sounds funny to me i like the sound of squoval
lol "squoval" I'll name my first born child that
Thank You for sharing all your advice, tips and tutorials. It has me actually thinking about going back to school to do nails! It is something I already love to do and I am good at it. Plus, it is a great tool to add to my Mobile Makeup Business where I go to my clients! (Weddings Parties, teach how to with kids who are just getting into makeup the correct way, Dance Recitals/Competitions; Cheer & Pom Performances(nails short but fun matching designs and logos) and competitions too among many other things! Had to hang up the pointe shoes and retire falling back on teaching dance, when I can, and being a makeup artist. This is an excellent tool to add to my awesome arsenal! All I can say is, Thank You So Much and Don't Ever Stop!

I just think you are so informative. This video was terrific. Thanks for everything you do
I would love to see a 'How to do/paint nails with your non-dominant hand' 😃😃 Like, acrylics! And having not matching hands😂😂
Suzie i need your help! how do you know what kind of shape suits your hands, iv always had a square/squavle. however I have sausage fingers as i am quite over weight, so how do I know what shape presents a short stumpy look and gives the illustration of slim/long, what would you advise? thank you xox
Molly Moo - the salon I go to always suggests a rounded shape for me since my nail bed is rounded. Most of my nails grow in a naturally rounded shape too so it's easier and tends to look more natural. My technician also suggests sticking with a rounded shape since it makes my fingers (which are sort of big lol) look longer and more dainty :) I really like the rounded shape!
Molly Moo's Nails I just totally laughed way too hard at how you call your fingers sausages and ur name has Moo, I don't know why it's just cute.
Polly Strott YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH YOU HAVE BLOWN MY MIND!!!!
I thought everyone was the same, and now I realize my nails grow to a natural square, AND WHOA SO IS MY NAIL BED WHAT MIND BLOWN!!!!
I would either do square or tapered square//coffin//ballerina
Polly Strott most of my nail beds are round, but my thumb is square. Is it weird to do a different shape on the thumb?
This is an old video, but I needed it! I've been trying to go from a "sqround" to an almond shape. Each time I file, I'm taking the sides in a little more. With the help of this vid, I think I've got it! ...Now, I need to learn how to properly do a gel overlay at home so my pretty new nails don't break.
The production values going on have me stunned. Instant sub! You are a - PROFESSIONAL -
I love how you point out that men can wear acrylics and gels aswell
I usually squround my nails but almond my thumbs, I think almond looks really pretty on the thumb and no one really notices the difference because you don't usually see a person's 5 nails all at the same time, so I like going crazy with my thumb because it's kinda invisible unless you porpusely show it.
g
ikr! almond on the thumb is so aesthetically pleasing.
That's what my sister does
I swear I watch your videos with a notepad like I am really taking online courses. I always learn so much from you!
I've been a nail tech for 9 years and I love watching your videos. I especially like the almond shaped baby boomer nails
+D'Aulan Arrasmith That's awesome - I love the almond shape too and that fade is beautiful :))

Too bad you didn't show stiletto, because I usually get myself really sharp stiletto and when I try to do them myself I always get them uneven or I don't like the way person at nail salon does that
Kamila Ruzylo, it’s basically an almond but instead of rounding the point off, file straight to the end making a point
Your videos are so detailed. I even love all of the camera angles.
You are an amazing woman. You are the reason i am doing my own nails. I wish a had the confidence to do others.
