Scavenging ammo would be the hardest part. 50 years ago .357/.38' s were everywhere, but not now. Tube fed guns are great. No magazines to load, lose or scavenge. As long as you keep feeding it ammo as your shoot, it never goes empty, but keeping it loaded can distract from the threat.
I enjoy that your videos are concise and you don't try to make a 6 minute video into a 20 minute video , there's an MMA channel that I watch who does that and it pisses me off...
In my communist state of California, 100% I actually have this load out. Looking for the shorter Henry version (easier unloading via tube) I have the Rossi 1892 top eject model. Have two Ruger GP 100s. It is a slam dunk certainty that sometime soon there will be a big earthquake here in SoCal and there will be no real law or enforcement for at least three months. Maybe more. So yes this is my loadout for SHTF. It was pretty common in the Old West for dudes to run the same cartridge in their rifle and revolver, often 44-40. It made sense.
I guess it depends on what you mean by "realistic." If you mean that a lever gun is "the leading choice of survivalists/LARPers/preppers/ex-military for a SHTF gun," then no, it's not. If you mean "it's the gun an average guy might have because he's a Fudd, lives in a ban state, or found it lying around or pulled out of a partially destroyed gun shop or pulled it off a dead Fudd," then probably yes. If you mean realistic as in "a gun that is well suited to survival," then mostly yes. Lever guns are a decent jack of all trades choice in the sense they can do almost everything but not excel at anything. I myself am partial to tacticool Henry Xs but that's just me.
It's cool as hell, but if im being honest, maybe 15% for realistic shtf... i like the idea of same EFFECTIVE calaber for rifle and pistol but, magazines dude i like those more. Im not running a pcc so 556+9mm it must be. Am i a newage fudd or just practical?
Trench, digging the wheels and levers. Add to the list, reloading your own ammo. Stores closed when SHTF.
Didn’t take much arm twisting on this rifle, I clicked as soon as I seen the title.50%

Beat me to it lol

Love the Load out!
Cool combo. Very utilitarian. I’ve been eyeballing this same duo for a while.

25% 100% for the vibes tho
well I use a GP100 and a Henry big boy both in 357 mag... stored 1000s of rounds
Yeh, I sold my marlin 45/70 guide gun and bought a DDM4V7. Loved that gun for hunting but not so much for home defense and range work.

:14 I just bought that same plate carrier a couple weeks ago , we're like brothers now or something..
I would only run revolvers and lever guns if I went for a luck/agility build. The quick draw, cowboy and gunslinger perks are a must.
Very nice setup!
Admit it bro. It’s the Vibe!
Hey man...503rd?
I was Alpha 503rd PIR 88-90, Korea.
For every john wayne fan
I'm a simple man, I hear a fallout joke, I like the video.

Looks great for short patrols around the property or neighborhood.
And it's not on a ban list...
