This is ingenious! A gas design that uses aeg upper? Why did it take so long to exist!
by technicality, it's existed. G&G released GBBRs that used their AEG CM16 raider bodies back in 2012. Jarek4 has a review of one on his channel IIRC

Because AEG uppers arent as good of a choice as a proper GBBR upper, worse threads for handguards, usually cheaper materials, dimensional inaccuracies.

So, what do you think the odds are of getting this to 450-500fps on a .2 or 3j with a .45 on hpa. Also any idea what the max psi it's rated for or max psi it can handle before the hammer will not open the valve? Thanks love the video!
Considering it has an internal gas reservoir, you can litteraly just put a hose on it without any modifications.
Shouldn't be a problem with the right regulator on your bottle, mine only goes to 120 but I was getting just over 450fps :)

Is there a rear sling attachment point, or just the 2 qd mounts on the handguard?
2 qd points, I wrapped the sling around the stock and used the front slingpoint

It was around 300 shots, defiantly started to lose the range about half way through would still be OK for cqb, it was a kwa tap

Dont make your intro so loud when your mic is set so low otherwise a really good video
How did you hpa it
It's quiet simple, you remove the gas valve and fit a kwa threaded tap, I will have a video up next week, if you subscribe and hit the notification bell you will be able to see as soon as it's uploaded :)
This would be a good DMR
With the fps on gas it's not really the greatest dmr as the fps isn't that high, but with the hpa tap installed it has definitely made a good dmr :)
@@TheAussieAirsofter maybe they'll make power up option parts for it to work spicier with green gas. Also you can make the inner barrel longer to boost fps. But yeah you can always hpa tap it 👌

Good video, but a chrono in the hpa version, and the necessary psi for that value It could have been interesting
Ran out of time where I was shooting the video, set it up as a dmr, 105 psi was getting 315fps on .32s

@@TheAussieAirsofter not all AR platforms have a forward assist, and this one definitely doesn't need it considering it's a lever action. it's also airsoft so it's already aesthetic to begin with, but in this case it doesn't even make sense.
Not gonna lie these Joule-readings if correct are really underwhelming. Even if you go with a tighter Barrel and heavier bbs. You are almost forced to go with Hpa
It does get a higher fps with heavier bbs, I think the .2s are to light to get an accurate reading, I can't remember exactly but I think it was about 310 with .32s on black gas
@@TheAussieAirsofter that's partly incorrect, higher weight means with about the sane terminal velocity you can get more virtual joule out of it. But never the less a bit underwhelming. Thx nevertheless :)

Imo, its just a gimmick. If the same gas rezervoir system was adapted to a straightpull system with the same AR compatability, you have a new paradigm shift in sniper rifles in airsoft. As it is rn, its super gimmicky and i dont see much application besides a niche sniper game style
I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes some sort of straitpull mod
