When you put that X in the box marked AC. Does the X mean the AC is on or off

It means its on, when x in box. He turned it off which seems strange when trying to tell us about having air conditioning.
Its also confirmed on panel uf turned off as it will display ECO.

That bit of my SIgnum does not work. I keep on pressing the big buttom to acces de menu but nothing happens. I aam looking for a spre air con controls console to chek if tht is the solucitn. Ay ideas?

its a known issue with the vectra and signum, the conections on the PCB get broken overtime because of the presses you will either need to replace it with a known good one though that will also eventually fail or repair your old one (tutorials on youtube) which if you do it right will work like its new i did that to mine and no issues yet.
