I'm proudly Igbo but when you see clearly you will know that Yoruba has much in common with Igbos while HausaFulani are completely different. Think of entertainment, education, civilization, peace, religious tolerance then you will see Yoruba and Igbo are similar while HausaFulani are completely different. No Igbo has been killed in Yorubaland because of religion, politics or tribalism and No Yoruba has ever been killed in Igboland in the name of religion, politics and tribalism but in the North it is a different case altogether. Many Igbos has been killed in the North for not supporting the North candidates and many has been killed because of religion or tribalism.
The British does not want the Igbos and Yoruba to work together because they will set Africa free but to them Fulaniz are their loyal puppet while Hausa are slaves used by Fulaniz. So there is need for Igbo and Yoruba to work together and set ourselves free.

See how powerful china is today. The Japan of yesterday that knew the potentials of China wanted to conquer them and make sure they never rise but today china is a force to reckon with. Good one sir Prof Akintoye, God bless you for your elderly advice, we must come together and stop this cat and dog fight. The Igbos are the ones the colonial masters found hard to conquer because of our egalitarian nature. We didn't have kings etc. They penetrated the west and North through the emirs and the obas, but it took them 30 years to conquer the Igbos. Even when they signed the amalgamation treaty, there was no Igbo present, it was only six people from other parts of the country, Yoruba, Hausa, Ibibio, etc. Zik of Africa, we respect you for the nationalist movement and how you worked tirelessly till we got the independence. When they got the independence, Zik did not want Nigeria to break up, he wanted 'one Nigeria' and never supported our eternal leader Odumegwu Ojukwu (Ikemba). He had so many sentiments like; he was born in the North, he fought for independence, etc. Everything got in his sentiment and he unfortunately opted for Nigeria to remain one!

British said only 3 groups proved hard for them to subdued. The Ireland, Igbos and a tribe in Kenya. So they changed tactics against Igbos in Nigeria by bringing disunity among Igbos and their brothers and their close relatives (South South) that is why many tribes grouped up as Yoruba under one language but different cultures, while in the North they say HausaFulani as one ethnicity while generally all Northerners are made to speak Hausa as a point of unity BUT IN IGBOLAND, You will see many real Igbos from South South saying they are not Igbos, before you even talk about Igbo related tribes rejection of their Igbo relatives. They poisoned their man that Igbo man wants to dominate you but they forgot to remind them that only Igbos are the a large ethnicity that never conquered any tribe as they are believed in live and let live and they have lived in peace with those called minorities for over 500 years but never used their might to conquer them or intimidate them until British and Fulani come and care so much about them that's why British and Fulaniz are the owners and benefactors of oil blocks in that region. IGBOS HARDCORE REPUBLICANS NATURE IS THE ONLY REASON BRITISH AND FULANIZ HAS NOT FULLY SUCCEEDED IN CONQUERING AND ENSLAVEMENT OF EVERY ETHNIC THAT'S WHY THERE IS NEED FOR YORUBA AND IGBO TO UNITE AND SET OURSELVES FREE. THE SAME REPUBLICAN NATURE IS THE REASON IGBO NEVER CONQUERED ANY TRIBE AND WILL NEVER DO SO.

Igbos and Yoruba’s, are in this life and death liberation struggle together. I also beg these compatriots to include our middle belt brothers who have openly camped and identified with the south. I believe we can bring down this contraption with the collaboration of the middle belt, and other minorities in the north.

For example The Imo governor is there being use by Fulani to kill his own person for political gain, Wekee is there saying that he is no longer an Igbo man all this for power, that will brink them to their end, i hope by the time they realized that they are being use, it will not be too late. Well said sir but over the years some ethnic bigots have put a knife to the rope that binds these two tribes together. It will take time to heal the wounds that these individuals have done. The yorubas are very good and accommodating people and they don't have problem coming together. I'm an Edo man and each time I make comment on the unification of the South I get insulted by some untrained and unschooled individuals. I still stand my ground saying UNITED WE STAND AND DIVIDED WE FALL

Those are mostly paid internet warriors. I think it's better off discussing with those you know offline. I am Yoruba, and I am married to a woman of Igbo and Yoruba parents. Some of the quite interesting things I have done in my life were with couple of igbo people I ran into in the course of my professional life. Probably because of the way I was raised, I see people as people. Though, language and culture may bind people together but succeeding in this life is beyond that. Even the Oni of Ife in a historical narration believe that at some point in the past, the Igbos and Yorubas, shared a common origin. The Hausa-Fulani deliberately ensured that history isn't taught anymore in our high schools. It's for a reason.

Our country was almost drifting into civil war out of tribal hatred and greed. The intent to cause disunity and war is satanic and must be checked. We used to see ourselves as one people but now we look at ourselves with ignominy. All we want is peace, love and unity for the country to move forward

@@ADE-of-LAGOS I just dey laugh, so your marriage to an Igbo woman should determine what the majority of the Yoruba people wants right???? Where was you when Asik divided the South south Region of today from the South west after returning from the UK???? Where was you When a specific Yoruba General who was helping out Ojukwu with informations during the Biafra war got killed by the same Ojukwu himself??? Abi Eba lo le moju when Majority of Igbo's are claiming that our very own father's land belongs to no man??? Or maybe you want to tell yourself that you haven't heard that Igbo's do say "Lagos is no man's land??? Or maybe you are not also partly aware of the main reason why Fashola parked up some Igbo's into long buses like Sandenes and sending them back to the East...???? Oga your marriage to an Igbo can not speak for the whole Yoruba' race. The Igbo's have been disrespecting the Yoruba's for far too long just like the Hausa's/Fulani's as well and it's time for the Yoruba's to fight their own battle. I respect prof banji alot but there's no perfection in what he's talking about bcos it's only God who's perfect.
