    I was in Kindergarden in 1970 ! I loved those trains---at that time my family lived in the Lawndale neighborhood and was 2 blocks away from the CB&Q famous "Racetrack" 4 track main. which was right there at Central Park ave and Cermak Rd. I remember the stainless steel pasenger trains and the rainbow colors

    Your video is not entirely accurate. When Amtrak started there was still a few privately owned intercity rail routes. The Southern Crescent, The Denver Zephyr and the Rock Island Rockets all survived, with the Zephyr being the last one being cancelled in 1983.
