just wanted to thank you for telling me about The Ken Lockwood Gorge. I went out their two weeks ago . It is a beautiful place to spend a day fly fishing. Unfortunately for me I slipped on a bowling ball size boulder and went under and froze my ass off and ended up going home . I will try again though.
Sure why not, but seriously I would use a Bic lighter, because of the steady flame. Even though I've tyed thousands over the years, I still occasionally slip up and burn off the all the fibers.
Tubing/ wire combinations are as follows. #8 thru #12 : Brassie Wire - Small "Waspi" Stretch Tubing #14 and #16 : Small wire- Micro "Waspi" Stretch Tubing #18 : Small Wire - "Hareline" Micro Tubing #20 and #22 : X-Small Wire - "Hareline" Micro Tubing That's what you need to follow as far as sizes go.
I love the way you melted that feather. Very nice, made all the difference.

Thanks for the tip on feeding the wire into the tubing. I always struggle with that and I hope this helps me along.
An excellent looking pattern. I will be tying some this winter.

Very creative.
Super cool fly ! thanks for sharing !
Excellent video and a great fly. Thanks!
Very nice looking fly. Thank You
Little tip. Take some dubbing wax an coat the wire, will help getting the wire in the tubing.
coyote hunter came here looking for this. I have super sticky high tack tho.
Nice job 👍
I suggest a link to a retailer for this pattern. These days I only have time to tie my experimental / new patterns.
very good thank you
Could you provide a link to the store where you get your thread from? the utc thread seems nearly impossible to find in scandinavia
Would I be able to use a doobie brothers lighter for this pattern?
