Plan was to get a better run in the summer last year, but 'summer' didn't happen (each time I had time, it was lashing it down 🌧).

hahahaha...nice. I see you upped the KV. What motor are you running?

      Castle 7700kv, 3s lipo.
Df03ra spur and pinion, 2.8" Maverick Strada wheels/tyres, although just ordered 12mm to 17mm hex adapter to maybe switch to Arrma dboots hoons 🤔
They are only rated to 2s, so only do one run at a time, don't want to burn it out like I did running multiple runs on the 5700kv/5s in a DT03 Neo Fighter...🙄

@@anthonyrawsthorne656 Good stuff. I love seeing Tamiyas pushed to the limits. My Boomerang did 49mph. Im going to keep modding it for more speed but the gearbox being enclosed is a limiting factor. I may have to get the dremel tool out...lol

I've needed to keep the gearbox's stock, as per tamiya club speed run rules, but 49mph gives me something to head for with the boomerang!! 🙄😏

Wow that shifts. Finding hop ups for the df03 is near on impossible seems everyone stopped making stuff years ago and what is left is bloody expensive! Am i missing a trick? Cheers!

@@originalboon Cheers! Hit 103kph since, but didn't record it (I'd pressed photo instead of record 🤦‍♂️)
Lucky to find the hop ups for these now, even 10yrs ago when I got parts for this, I had to press on a hardened gear pinion onto the main shaft, as the fivestars main shaft was unavailable.
I think if you use the front metal outdrives in the rear, and use 3mm tungsten diff balls, you can still get them to handle low turn brushless.
Hoping for some more out of the car, ballooning is making it wander a bit, so got some 17-12mm adapters and eyeing up a set of Armma dboots hoons 🤔
