  • "Mu isamaa, mu õnn ja rõõm" ('My Fatherland, My Happiness and Joy'; [mu ˈisɑ.mɑː, mu ˈɤnʲˈ jɑ ˈrɤːm]) is the national anthem of Estonia. It was adopted as the national anthem ((riigi)hümn) in 1920.
The lyrics were written by Johann Voldemar Jannsen and are set to a melody composed in 1848 by Fredrik (Friedrich) Pacius which is also that of the national anthem of Finland: "Maamme" (Swedish: "Vårt Land").The only difference between the two anthems is the key signature they are in. It is also considered to be an ethnic anthem for Livonian people with text "Min izāmō, min sindimō" (English: "My Fatherland, my native land").

Went to Estonia a few weeks ago, loved it and would certainly return! The people were really nice and the Old Town in Tallinn was absolutely stunning. The company that booked it said 5 days would be enough, but there was still plenty I'd like to do and didn't feel I had long enough! Will definitely be returning to Estonia in the future, and here is my gift back to the country.

Ah, you should also definitely visit Lithuania or Latvia! These countries are as epic as Estonia! Big love to Estonia and Serbia from Lithuania!
