It’s sad that Plato’s closet says that they only take certain brands and yet while you’re searching through stuff you find Walmart branded items and the cheaper things. Which is fine. But it’s the fact that when you take stuff in to sell they say they don’t accept those brands or the fact that something can be brand new with tags and a brand they accept and they still don’t buy it. The one near me the ladies are very rude and snooty 🙄
@@shyofthemoon1175that would maybe help. How ever giving your clothes away to this place is a scam. I see walmart, target, and other cheap brands that were donated to them yet they try and sell a walmart shirt for 6$ more than what walmart sells it for??? Make it make sense… scammy ass business no wonder its still around!
@@wockyslush666 excuse me? I'm a grown adult with my own money who bought the items on poshmark. They just happened not to fit. Mind your business, cunt
I just donate my clothes 💁🏼♀️ there’s a bin by my house that we can put shoes books clothes for free and they pick it up and bring them to shelters for people who need them♥️
I think the fact they are more likely to take men’s items to be a somewhat interesting indicator to the kind of stock that they make a good return on. Since men are not marketed to NEARLY as much regarding fashion trends and specifically fast fashion, it makes sense that places like Plato’s closet, which helps enable the kind of consumption common in fast fashion (I.e. buying something on trend, wearing once or twice, then leaving it in a landfill or thrift store so they have money/space for the next trendy item.) would probably have an issue with trendy items. Where as menswear while still following trends has less variety and variation, likely makes it more profitable and easier to ensure it will sell/be kept. Basically it seems like Plato’s closet helps people consume fast fashion, but then is leery about stocking it, compared to more longstanding garments like basic men’s and women’s wear. Idk, I just think it’s an interesting peek into the business/demographic!
3.75-3.90 per item is awful, just sell on facebook marketplace or something, plus they sell things for such expensive prices for second hand, what's the point
Last time I went the lady was shocked when I asked for my 5 bags they didn’t take. As if she expected I would just leave the rest there without pay. I only donate to goodwill now, no money but no hassle either.
I literally donated brand new. Michael kors flats like nice dress shoes size like 8 and 1/2 and they didn't take them. I'm like such a average shoe size and it being a more higher end brand I was baffled
I love Plato’s closet. It has so much good stuff for so much less than I would pay brand new. Plus it is in good condition most of the time and saves money! It also helps the planet since things are all second hand.
It’s not a win! You don’t save. You get back 20% or less from 100% of your original item you purchased at a high end store. If you paid item with credit card; your still paying on your item. Then you sell it to Plato Closet for much less? Skip buying high end clothes, buy only from Plato! Then you will save 💰 money!
The last few times I’ve gone I’ve only ever gotten $10 or less. And it’s not just random clothes there’s Victoria Secret in there and all the name brands but they’ll take more of my boyfriends stuff
I went there w a basket full of mint condition clothes they offered me $2 lmfao and accepted like 2 things, I left so embarrassed but to be fair my clothes were not good brands and outdated hahaha 😂

It helps to call and ask what kinds of things they're looking for at the moment.
Ya fr

They are such a rip off. They gave me a pittance for 3 brand new (with tags, on trend) items. I was like nahh ill take my chances on poshmark
Nah fr, I've made so much more money on depop and Mecari than just taking them to the bin
@@aspoonfullofkiwi right?! I never sell to them anymore.
I only take stuff that aren't selling on the apps to Plato's and they usually buy it
Maybe you shouldn’t be buying so much crap

Honestly better then trying to make Plato pay more then a buck per item

Do my eyes deceive me or were those the same walmart brand shoes i owe and love there in that store 😂

I used to go to platos closet and they give a little bit money for good colthes
OMG I LOVE PLATOS CLOSET
I used to work there it’s the whole system it’s not up to the buyer at the store. Never work there!!
Lol this is my sign to go to Plato’s closet
Yesss, my Plato’s closet has a bunch of great brands like American eagle, athleta, converse, and a whole section for Lululemon!
last time i went the wait time was 3 hours. havent been back lol
Yeah.. I tried to sell my clothes to them and they took 3 or 4 shirts for $10 store credit. Never again

Plato’s Closet is just GameStop for clothing.
Update on the blanket????❤

Hmmm interesting. I got offered absolutely zero for brand new shoes still in boxes and at a shoe size that is hard to come by.
Thats like 0.25 a piece 😅 better than nothing though!
They stole from y’all lol poshmark the rest lol you had to bring really good stuff
I went there w a basket full of mint condition clothes they offered me $2 lmfao and accepted like 2 things, I left so embarrassed but to be fair my clothes were not good brands and outdated hahaha 😂
The thing is you shop their and it’s all shein now or other crap quality items and they’re selling it probably for the same price it is online 😒
Nope six boxes for twenty miss me rock revival crazy
I would never give my clothes to Plato’s closet if I was looking for good money back. Donating yes but for money no.
All they take is brand names stuff
Regular stuff that's not the brand they want they won't take
And agree the are snooty and snotty there
I didn’t think they took clothes in garbage bags?
They are such a rip off
