Greatest cricket stadium🏟 in the history of mankind
I was here for last year's IPL final with Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals..!! LOVED THE STADIUM. The environment was MENTAL. The whole vibe with people cheering and the look of everyone from the top stand is just unreal..!!!
Anyway, I had an issue with number of gates and leaving facilities as there was a big commotion during leaving the stadium after the game. Being a new stadium I think I shud give it a chance and I hope they have sorted this out
How were the facilities like for eating and water and washrooms?
@@nikhiljain2637 i saw food being sold on triple the price. Some sandwiches, popcorn, small pizzas, bhel, some coke and water. U would have to go down to get water as there is no food shop on the upper levels.
Personally didn't have the need to use the toilet so haven't seen those. I don't really have any ideas abt where they can be as well.

@@nikhiljain2637 also bear in mind, we went for an IPL match...an evening/night fixture and even then it was a bit dense and humid. Having little to no shelters for lower levels and front part of upper levels, u might have to carry an umbrella for shade. It's going to be too hot any season during the day but now in march it will hit u with a hot slap. Carry coverings and shades if possible.
U might not be allowed to take anything in by security as it's PM for both countries being present there so take a note of that as well

In my opinion, for a stadium to be one of the best - history should hold the highest priority, then the other factors like size, beauty etc. can weigh in the decision.

Stadiums shouldn’t be named after politicians. Call it ‘Gavaskar stadium’ or ‘Tendulkar stadium’. Celebrate true sporting greatness. Amazing looking place.

More than half of the football stadiums in India are named after Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi.

Edit- India's highest sporting honour used to be named after erstwhile PM Rajiv Gandhi, only recently changed to Major Dhyand Chand's name[ greatest hockey player to have ever lived]. So that's the sort of nation we are.

Go with whatever grass/sand/dust/concrete you have for now. Three days in, if you want a better pitch, I am sure Modiji and his friends can poach one from other stadiums.
I think the best way to deal with this pitch debate business is to have two pitches under cover prepared by the curators and to keep them under covers, i.e. no media or players get to see the pitch until the toss. The team that wins the toss then gets to do a blind selection of the pitch they want to play. That way the teams will have already selected a playing 11 and there will be an unbiased approach heading to the game . #BCCI #ICC

Eden Gardens, Chepauk Stadium and Feroz Shah Kotla have so much Indian cricket history, they could have been some of the best in the world if the management showed highest level of commitment. There's a reason why Lords and MCG are so renowned in cricket history as well as being very beautiful and majestic because the management cares and loves those stadiums.

Just don't compare grounds with their capacity,look at the facilities and history of the great G,even this new ground don't have proper roofing covered entirely,it's a horrible experience for cricket fans on watching in this ground ,simply richest board in the world doesn't make any sense after having poor grounds for fans...even south africa and new Zealand west indies got better facilities for fans..hope BCCI will invest in spectators friendly grounds and better facilities ad well.
