  • Hi Beauties! As week three with Fulani/Tribal braids approaches, it is very important that I am keeping both, my hair and scalp moisturized. I like to do this by scalp moisturizing and adding leave-in conditioning spray to my ends and throughout my hair. It's also super important to make sure that you're wrapping those braids at night so that they last as long as possible and look fresh thee entire time 😜
    Love you guys so much ❤️

    How do you like to wrap your braids at night? Do you wrap all of them (like me) or leave out the ends?

    Your hair looks great n I get those bumps too especially when they grip my edges to tight

      Annmarie’s Life Thank you so much, love! 💕
      Yeah, what’s crazy is that it’s really not too tight at all! There’s just too much tension 😭

    I decided to get braids and they were really tight. I ended up getting those same bumps and I’m pretty sure it’s the tightness pulling the hair from the follicle. I ended up taking my braids out because idk if it was bacteria getting into the follicle or what but they were itching like crazy it was ridiculous. I would wake from my seep just to itch. I have to learn to braid by myself 😭🤷🏽‍♀️

    The video is 5 years old and you may already know about soaking your braid hair in a water and apple cider vinegar mix for about an hour and then rinsing. You can add a cheapy good smelling conditioner to the rinse to remove the vinegar smell. That removes the alkaline coating on the hair that many people are allergic to. And many sometimes cause those bumps too.
    Peace

    Thank you for this! I wrap all my braids and stick em in a bonnet. But your way seems like it'll help my cornrows last longer. Also, do you oil your scalp daily?

    Hairline is under stress. I think your hair is long enough to rock that without the extra hair though....ijs
    I take it Portland is too cold for diffusing a wash n go??

    • @KenzeyCooper
      @KenzeyCooper  Před 5 lety +6

      Dr. Simple Beauty 300 Exactly! My hairline is under stress and there is too much tension in that area 😭
      I could do the braids without the hair, but my hair is really fine so it wouldn’t look how I envision it, unfortunately 🙁
      Believe it or not, my hair actually doesn’t mind Portland too much! I just decided to give braids a try because I’ve been traveling literally all month, so I figured braids would give my hair a nice break & free up some time for me while traveling 😊

    I need that scalp treatment. You think that would help my itchy scalp?

    • @KenzeyCooper
      @KenzeyCooper  Před 5 lety +3

      Aray Brown Absolutely! I love it so much! 🙌🏽
      If that’s too pricey, give 100% Tea Tree oil a try - Does the trick as well 😊
