What Fingerboard Should You Get? (Best Shapes)

- I’ve been getting a few DMs recently asking about what deck to get and more specifically what shapes to buy so I thought I’d make a video to let you know what my thoughts are on this!
Obviously do not take every single thing I have to say as gospel. At the end of the day it’s 100% about preference and the things I say are probably biased since I do have a preference when it comes to shapes. That being said, I hope this video was helpful for you. If not I hope you enjoyed listening to me ramble on about different shapes, haha.
Also, by no means am I saying that the brands I mention are the ONLY good ones out there. Obviously there are so many more but I just happen to support these ones.

Deep concave and overlly deep dips does actually give you less control because there is less effective surface area to use, and your fingers must be put into a position where they are not as comfortable as they would be on a medium shape. Same thing with overly high kicks.
Theres a point in fingerboarding where the objectively best performance is found, and I want to start making my own decks to find that point. I'd call the brand goldielocks

I ride a yellowood startwood. Are they low or high? Cause I like this shape a lot and would buy a deck whith this shape. (My board splits after one year)

Hi there, greetings from Nicaragua. Where would you place Yellowood shape, medium or low? I've been riding a 32 mm yellowood one for ten years, I'd like to try Berlinwood or Blackriver, but what shape is similar to YW in those brands?
I like to use low mold 33-34mm by 91mm decks. I use an Opal

What is the best wheel shape?
I know this is really late but I am allowed to get a beastpants for Christmas but there is a 33 feral and a 34 domesticated, I want to get brt’s but depending on what board will determine the size of trucks. Please help me chose which one to get! Please get back to me soon my mom is gonna order it soon
33 is a good size in my opinion. Domesticated is a really low shape so if you don’t like that then go for the feral

Can you make a video like this about how to film yourself like how to get good angles and shots? I’m really struggling with the camera work to get clips.
you should check out my filming setup video. It doesn't go into angles per se- I think that's just something you discover for yourself!

Mold and semi custom mold at nfb molds they three d printing the mold. They will see a custom
Shapes sizes up to 40 width mm by 102 length 60 mm wheel based you can go bigger wheel base I might be wrong I’ll send you his email as well thanks try making your own fingerboards sometimes just an idea thanks I hope you like this making fingerboard decks for your self idea the fun part is wait 24 hours to dry then drill conter sinked drilled sanding and filing cutting and etc graphics or use Posca paint pens or any kind of paint pens optional clear goat and either way you got a fingerboard deck blank or paint works of art or graphics of art it’s a cool way and to get what you like shapes wise and such then for the prices custom
Mold is 90 bucks plus 5.50 shipping on esty then semi one is 60
Bucks plus shipping it used to be those prices not sure but that’s what I’ve heard so far
I’ve start with 32 mm up to 36 mm now I’ve started fingerboarding decks with 36 mm and upper mm shapes like 40 mm up to 98 mm wide shapes

You know that I've been fingerboarding for quite a bit. I personally absolutely despise cruisers. I just don't like riding them. I'd also categorize boards in street shape and posicle shape. Where a street shape has more of a pointier nose/tail and a popicle is more rounded as a general.
I think pointier kicks are more of a 0 shape
I have never loved cruisers either myself aside from the Poli wave runner! Good point about the shapes- totally missed that 🤦🏻♀️
tbh I don’t really look for specific shapes n stuff I just work with what I got gimme a 100x100 and I’ll use it

Which one should I get and why? 32mm/34mm or 36mm?
i really like 32mm! i think it's the perfect size for most beginners, and it's easy to move up if you feel you want to try a bigger size. your trucks will still fit a 34mm board, whereas 34mm trucks on a 32mm board could look really odd
I prefer high concaves high kicks deck cos i can land tricks in that better

Whats a good upgrade from a tech deck?
No matter what board you get that isn't tech deck you'll instantly feel more comfortable with it, I know from personal experience.
When I made the jump though I bought a 32mm low kicks/mellow concave deck which I felt the most comfortable with so I would recommend that.
