@Steven Truncale Well he said his saga overall was meant to reboot Days of Future Past style since after his resurrection in BVS he will be under control of Darkseid before Batman pulls an Arthur Morgan and then Superman leads a victory against Darkseid.
Back to that DOFP style reboot timeline, it sets back after Man of Steelnin a new timeline where BVS doesn't happen yet and probably won't.

I think eventually Cavil will return to this role. He supposedly loved doing the role and knows there's so many great Superman stories to be told including Kingdom Come. Also, he is probably the most accepted and praised actor to play the role since Chris Reeve. Maybe Snyder can produce a separate series outside of Gunn's with Henry Cavil co producing and having alot of creative input. Either way it has to be brighter in tone then before and most of all in these dark times inspirational!

I like how the BvS shot shows superman facing a corrupted Batman very symbolic for Batfleck as he lost his way leading up to that event(hence the killing and such). His character had clearly gone through so much over 20 years that meeting and that whole conflict with Superman changed him set him back on the right path and with his sacrifice gave him hope again making things right in ZSJL. People are blinded if they Think Cavills Superman isn't hopeful.
That last line was amazing, the way Darseid said "Kryptonian". I'll never get over the fact that they had Henry Cavill and they let him go? They squandered him! Such a SHAME

No matter what he always will be superman no how many different TV series or different movies Henry cavell do he always will be superman
I can understand at times why they might reboot a series of movies but with the addition to both the marvel and DC universes of the multiverse why can't they continue to release movies on a current storyline while also beginning a new one with the understanding that it's from a different universe or timeline? Give fans the sequel they want from Cavill while at the same time beginning a new reboot with the planned younger version they want to do? This would allow them to keep alive the current universe with another Wonder Woman movie if they wish as well as the planned Flash and possibly Aquaman and still go the new route they are proposing and maybe even a crossover between the two universes of that worked out in the storyline. Having two timelines or universes at the same time and possibly a crossover between the 2 would set them apart from Marvell and maybe finally give the DCEU a win with more than just the occasional standalone good movie in the franchise and really let them build on something.

This is great!! I've been around long enough to see every iteration of superman since Christopher Reeves. I was amazed at how well Henry Cavill fit the bill to play superman.
This little promo for a MOS 2 finally shows what makes superman, superman. The writers in the previous films, which I own by the way, were always portraying him in this dark and constant emotional turmoil. Things finally started to look up for him towards the end of Justice League.
This, however, shows a glimpse of what superman is really like and how he truly thinks. Superman has always looked up to the sun, not down in the gutter. Jor El said it best in MOS.

Yes he's a British man playing the most iconic American superhero (tied with Cap) but besides the real life stuff he IS the physical embodiment of that character and his portrayal is on point with the movies they wanted to make. Man of steel should have been like the Dark Knight trilogy but they decided to suck on the EU teet with a movie that wasn't designed to withhold a world with Batman and Wonder Woman etc. I want him back as Superman and the Witcher.
Henry Cavill was born to play Superman. There is no one better. He made Superman real. Superman was always played like everything was always great, but think about it, he must have had struggles and Henry showed that. He also looks like the character and filled the suit out well. I am not happy he has been replaced and I wish something could be done so that they would make another Superman movie with Henry.
I am convinced that in a near future the fans will be able to complete Snyder's vision with AI. I just wish Zack Snyder himself could be part of the project. So it could be faithful to his vision. Maybe he wont make a movie, but instead we could get a graphic novel in this style.

Just like it was the right place and right time for Henry Cavill to rise as a star with Superman, it was also the wrong place and wrong time. He could have been great in a different timeline with a different director and different direction. The Justice League movies led by former WB execs were just awful and ruined any hope for him to succeed. I don't blame Gunn for having to start new but this was just not his fate (that we know of right now). He's off to better things like Warhammer 40k. We can only imagine what could've been in a different timeline.
I still hope for Henry Cavill to return when he's older to play a much older Superman or black suit Superman with longer hair. He could easily make a comeback in that fashion. Or even as part of another universe crossover a la the Flash. Could only happen years from now after the new DC films established themselves with the audience.

I am saddened at the loss of Henry Cavill as Superman. I grew up with Christopher Reeves as Superman and never thought anyone could or would carry that torch the same. I gave him a chance and he provided me with the same awe and wonder as those childhood days gone by. Now I have pretty much given up on DC as a whole. No matter who they bring I really don't want a new Superman and much like this new Batman I just don't want to watch another emo DC character or origin story that rewrites the whole script. As a past comic collector I just can't accept a lot of these new ideas that destroy "canon". Take your multiverses and shove it!!! JMO

The direction by Zack Snyder and the performance by Henry Cavill as Superman were both amazing. I think Cavill perfectly portrayed the complex emotions and struggles of the character. And Snyder’s perspective on the superhero genre, with its mix of spectacle, action, and drama, was really engaging.
I’m looking forward to seeing more of Cavill’s Superman, hopefully in future DC movies. It would be great to see how the character develops and faces new challenges. And I hope Snyder continues to bring his unique style and vision to the screen.
