The facts that make the mother the obvious suspect are presented so clearly in hindsight.

This one kinda hits home for me. I lived with my abusive birth giver (she shouldn't be called a mom) all my childhood and everytime my dad fought for custody, she would play the courts like a fiddle. It was until I turned 13 and my sis turned 14 that we could actually talk to the judge. We went to her chambers and told her everything. We were asked if we wanted to sit in the court room but we were so scared of that woman, we didn't want to so we sat outside. My dad finally won that day and my birth giver ran away to Florida to hide out. Hate is a very strong word but she's the closest I can get to that word

    • @mitten97
      @mitten97 Před 9 měsíci +54

No, it’s because there are limits to how long a patient can be kept if they have not committed any crime. This prevents involuntary indefinite hold of a person (which violates civil and constitutional rights). I think there is a 72 hr limit before a court appearance which is where it gets decided if they need to be held longer. After the 72hrs you are usually free to decline any further help and leave unless forced by the court. Many states allow for longer times under specific circumstances. To force someone to remain in the mental facility, 2 court appointed psychiatrists must agree on it and determine length of time. It’s a flawed system because of stories like this. Most psychiatric hospitals were forced to close because of the belief driven by the left in our country (this was during the civil rights movement) that the hospitals were inhumane, the misguided belief that hospitals could be replaced by medicines, and to save money because they were a money pit(imagine prison like system but with having to pay expensive doctors instead of corrections officers). They weren’t wrong per say, but their solution was no better. Now defund it, and force most to close and now you have capacity, funding and resource issues. The reality is the system was broken before, but then there was a huge pendulum swing in the other direction and now you get more stories like this all the time, as well as things like rampant homelessness in our cities and people with mental issues filling prisons. The current system is woefully inadequate while the previous system violated people’s liberties….basically the way we handle mental health needs to be addressed but the big whigs in charge don’t care. There is also the issue of Medicaid, example see ‘Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act 1981’ and how it has negatively impacted funding for SMI (severe mental illness). Court decisions also play a major part, example see ‘1999 Olmstead v. L.C.’

She even gaslit/set up situations when she invited Tracey for dinner to make Steve lose his temper in front of Tracey to try to make him look bad. She faked bruises with makeup and took pictures to send to Tracey. She would fight with her husband and tape record conversations and then manipulate the tapes to make her husband sound like he was picking a fight and was verbally abusive.

Literal Solomon cutting the baby in twain situation.
      1 Kings 3:16-18
      If you don't know tl;dr
Two women come to King Solomon with a baby, both claiming to be the mother. Solomon states as a "compromise" to have the baby cut in half and one half given to each women. One women agrees to these terms, while the other would rather just give the baby up instead of you know, cutting the baby in half. King Solomon then determines the woman who didn't accept these terms to be the real mother, the "compromise" being a clever ruse to reveal who the real mother was, because he know a real mother would never accept these demands.

What a remarkable show of strength and poise from these two girls. They knew who their real parent was, even though he was not biologically related to them, and they stuck by his side and honored the truth. It takes real guts to go through what they did, and to come out with good heads on their shoulders. Steve’s goodness and kind nature was apparent, even after his tragic passing. RIP Steve, you were one of the good ones! 😔 🙏

Well said. Good men don't ask to be recognized for good deeds. And seldom get it. This good man must have suspected something was going on. He shielded and gave these girls love.

The fact that both parents willingly separated those twins during their childhood just shows an enormous amount of pure selfishness. Shocking. Imagine being that self absorbed to do that to your own children. Separating kids in general is one thing, but twins, identical twins, that's unimaginable life long pain and damage for those kids.

I came from abusive parents, and I’ve never had a childhood.
When I was pregnant with my first, my biggest fear was I would fail my child, because I didn’t know what a regular parent will act to take care of their children.
I bought so many books to read, and I lived with anxiety of failing. With readings and therapy, now I have a lovely family, supportive husband and precious children. I worked very hard to earn my life today and I deserve the happiness life brings me.
I am very happy for the twins that they survived the worst nightmare and living their best lives.
For anyone who fights with mental illness and abusive parents, please believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It will get better. You deserve to be happy!

I’m happy you’ve found healing. I come from an abusive family as well. None of my mother’s 4 daughters have children. Among the myriad of reasons, we are all too afraid of passing on that trauma. She’s also never met any of her son’s kids. One person destroyed 8. I’m still searching for healing.

@@atduhe i also nv hv kids, after years of searching for answer, i think is my childhood trauma. I m also abusive to my ex husband, we end up divorce because he had an affair. After 20 years i remarried and i see all the fault i had in the past. I can't forgive myself. I prayed for him almost everyday. My ex and i just met recently after 10 years, i m happy that i left the house for him else i don't think he can afford one now. I think forgiveness is the first process to healing. God has guided me all along during my struggle to forgive him, later to forgive myself.

What a remarkable pair of women they are. Other people might feel they have to be loyal to the blood relative, but they didn't hesitate to do right by their stepdad. And furthermore the fact that they are able to feel empathy for the woman who actually did it because they understand it was a result the mom's manipulations. What good hearts they have.

I'm enjoying these docos. What a crazy story and a hell of a thing for 2 young people to go through. I sometimes think life is so tough, but then I hear stories of people who walked barefoot through Hell and came out the other side as good people. Glad to hear they're okay now.
