I discovered Valentina Lisitsa when searching for Moonlight Sonata. I'm an adult beginner, a couple of years into lessons, and tackled the first movement of Moonlight after a couple of months of work. Her playing is so beautiful and passionate; she's a real inspiration. Having listened only to rock and blues since I was a kid in the 1970s, Valentina has shown me how beautiful and moving this genre can be I found she will be playing this piece in Amelia Island in April; a mere 6 hour drive. Purchased tickets and booked a room - I can't wait to see her live!!

May the Chopin etudes be your "spear!!!" .... because the recording format seems to be the orb of the future! First and second movement contains some of the most beautiful piano writing. Definitely reminds me of the Chopin Variations by Rachmaninoff.
