In 1970 the Mercury Montego and Cyclone were the largest mid sized cars. All but the wagons rode on a 117" wheelbase, they were 77" wide and 209" long...less than an inch longer than a 66 Plymouth Fury. The Dodge Coronet was the second largest midsized coupes, sedans and convertibles at 117" wheelbase 207" long and 76" wide.

Man that thing is sharp looking in plum crazy purple with the dog dish caps. 68-70 Roadrunners and Super Bees might be my favorite of any muscle cars. Especially the 69 A12 cars and the 70 440 six pack equipped cars as well. The 440 was a way better engine for regular street driving than the tough to tune and tempramental 426 Hemi and the six barrel 440s had more low end grunt than a Hemi from what I hear but the Hemi would beat them over a longer distance

Hi Lou, always great videos! Thanks for putting this one up, its an interesting piece of MOPAR history. If you recall, the original Dodge Super Bee was based on the Dodge Coronet two-door coupe, and was produced from 1968 until 1970. It was Dodge's low-priced powerful muscle car and a rebadged version of the Plymouth Road Runner which was produced by it's sister company, Plymouth. They all had identical drive trains, engines, transmission and availability as the Road Runner, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas etc. Great cars from a great era, Lou.
