I was a PI once. It is not a glamorous job as there can be hours, sometimes many days, of waiting around in uncomfortable settings at undesirable hours of the day and night. The pieces of evidence we collect do not tell a story, as that is for the client to weave based on the evidence that we collect. Evidence doesn’t always equate to facts. That is for the courts and other individuals to decide. A photo taken at a speed of one tenth of a second doesn’t tell you what happened during the remaining 86400 seconds of that day.
Our job is to legally collect evidence. What the client does with that evidence, and how they interpret that evidence, is their business. We are not the judges or arbiters of disputes. One thing to also bear in mind is that PIs need to be licensed in Singapore. It is not for everyone.

This is the best short documentary about the industry so far.
Most people have misconceptions about private investigators due to what they know from TV shows and Hollywood. It’s not all James Bond ,fast cars and chasing people.
You can gather huge amounts of information on someone without leaving the office. Surveillance is then used to gather real time evidence of something for the clients. Cheating partner surveillance is just a small part of what a private investigators do.

Many years ago my current bf from USA hire a PI to investigate my address and he got my whole family details. He came knock at my house because i don't think long distance relationship will work out. We only got married in an online game and he told the PI i am suicidal and that guy charge him $5000 then give him my details.
I reported police to get that agency busted. I did end up dating my bf because he managed to moved me by coming over to sg. He admit that he doesn't belive his claim. He accept the deal because he do not think he will come to sg. He did admit to the police that the story wasn't convincing.
FYI, my case was even brought up to mp and newspaper reporters. It is damn dangerous to leak local personal details to a foreigner. Police said it was against the law. The mp i meet to file a former complain also agree it is illegal. They press the police to investigate this matter.

Please stay away from others' destiny. If we become part of others' destiny by providing evidence to break up their marriage, then we are also responsible because we contributed to it. Are you going home tonight and proudly tell your wife and children that you managed to take some photos or videos so that you can contribute to break up others' marriages and families? If you aren't noble enough to reconcile families and save marriages, at least don't be part of their misfortune. People find it easy to break up families and marriages because you contributed and made it easy. How about you? Do you want a good marriage and family yourself? Some of these cases involve young children in the families, they may be crying out for daddy, mommy! And you sleep very well at night?
What goes around, comes around. Please choose your livelihood wisely, one which does no one any harm. Do not be involved in anyone's fate. If our income comes from hurt and tears of others, it's not conscientious money. There is a universal law of cause and effect. This is very real. When it ripens, please don't lament. The so-called justice comes naturally in many ways, yet you don't have to part of it. And who are we to decide the destiny of others?
Yes, there will always be people who are ignorant and choose such a livelihood, just let it not be you. Bless all!
