The last time I read An American Prophet something new--as usual--jumped out at me: the textbooks in Cayce's school were the McGuffey's Readers!!! Henry Makow recently provided a link to a sample of an 8th grade test. Few high school graduates or even college graduates could pass the equivalent today.
Our father made sure we had the whole set in our house. From time to time I'd go to my brother's room where it lived and read a little. Boy, I was really glad we had Dick and Jane! Cayce might have been more interested in the Bible than book learning, but an 8th grade education at that time was nothing to scoff at.

Sidney Kirkpatrick and his wife Nancy authored many very interesting Cayce oriented articles in Venture Inward, the ARE's quarterly magazine. But they haven't written anything in that magazine in quite some time ... and Venture Inward is definitely not the same; not as interesting ... it's borderline tedious. Contacted the ARE and asked about the Kirpatricks and did not get a response.

You are totally right, Venture Inward was never the same without them. Sid went through some health challenges recently, but will be our speaker in Canada in 2025.

I didn't renew after taking for years. I think the last straw was an article by Barbara Marx Hubbard. If anyone had vetted her she would never have been invited. I doubt if anyone at the A.R.E. even knew what she was talking about: The United Nations Agenda for the 21st Century/ now 2030 etc.
Oh well, we're participants in a Cosmic Drama of which the outcome is assured.
