I'll always have a soft spot for this game. It's always nice to have a game that lets you break established conventions of the universe, namely, Spider-Man becoming bad. To be honest, the bad choices in this game come off as the break Peter should have had. He got the women, got the money, got the power... It's almost as though they made the dark side a little TOO enticing in this game.
Ateast the choice to become evil makes sense. In most games with an evil path hero makes decisions that makes no sense and just makes them cartoonishly evil for no reason. Here the devs give spiderman so many temptations

Ehh.. I didn't enjoy this game.. And I hated the voice acting.. And the motion capture.. You know I liked the movement controls of this game.. That's about it..
The only bad thing is, after completing the story and maybe playing it again a few more times, it gets boring. And it's really sad because the has nice play style and all but there isn't more. The main game and then the secret New Game+ mode, that's just it. The only thing that made me (and probably some others) play more is that the game got many skin mods that some people may not know. It's interesting to play the game with different looks. Like experience it as Carnage.

You can hear the difference in black cats' voice from when she was normal to when she got infected...symbiote BC's got a darker tone, but the symbiote doesn't begin to affect immediately... At the moment she got infected, she still sounds normal... But towards the end, you can hear that dark tone.

It's awesome to see the level of detail and love put into such an old game. You can see Peter's voice changing from friendly to menacing every time he switches into the symbiote suit. Easily one of my favorite Spider-Man games to date

Yeah... Spider-Man is just badass. He's the most beloved Marvel character so they can make him do pretty much anything. This game is VERY dark though. I mean, look at the Bad Ending, that's just too dark and evil for a Friendly Neighbourhood.
It's pretty insane, but Spider Man is not a weak character. Sure, he's easily affected by bullets and what-nots, but he's went toe to toe with characters like the Phoenix, Hulk, Carnage, and more...
Playing this game as a kid was very satisfying I got to play as both my favorite Spider-Man variants ever. It satisfied me to just turn into black suit and just hit a huge combo every time! It was one of the best ones in the franchise. And I kept playing the evil and good choices made me wanna play to see both ones over and over. And it would never bore me to just pick a new path! This needs at least a remaster or sequel either would be good! I recommend this.

OK. 3 Things 1: Why are people complaining about the EVIL route? I mean, Peter Parker isn't spidey- the symbioye is. It's taken full control and critics and gamers are saying it's NOT LIKE PETER PARKER. 2: Everyone says how the only EVIL choice they can stand is choosing black cat over MJ but 2 other EVIL choices are reasonble. Both choosing vulture to go to rikers (this makes navigating alot more easier because Vulture had more of an expirece there) and saying to elctro that the symbiote took her sister (this makes electro HATE the symbiote so he wants to beat up venom) 3: FOR GOD SAKE THIS A DIFFRENT UNIVERSE WHERE THE SYMBIOTE AND COPY ITSELF. I pretty sure everybody likes the evil ending more then the good ending I mean not only you get cool new superpower then just web shooting you get an army of super soldiers and the villains are on your side with a few upgrades, plus peters voice sounds really cool (Also you get to have black cat as your queen)
Yeah I can't imagine anyone would want to play the hero path. Who the fuck wants to be "the same as always". The whole point was to pick the bad path and then play it again as a good guy. but your first path should always be the evil path
If you want it to be a Spider-Man game you choose the good path, since it's literally the ideal version of Spider-Man, the evil path is for redditors who want some feleciaussy.

Spider-Man's symbiote may have healed Black Cat and gave her a new look, but once Venom's dead, they have complete control of all the Klyntar symbiotes. Basically what I'm saying is Black Cat becomes your symbiote "queen", so to speak.

Love that the using your darkness to take out who you perceive as the bad guy just causes the cycle to go on an on. Wolverine at the end is just like Peter at the start. Choosing to use the symbiote to take out Venom did take Venom out, but just set Spider-Man to be the bad guy. Now Wolverine is going to do the exact same, and he will be crowned as the prince of darkness. It's s brilliant game that showcases the superego and id.

Actually, symbiotes weren't evil from the beginning. Some of they got corrupted, the original symbiotes want to do good deeds for no recompense. I would love to have an anti-hero symbiote with me.
Well actually the Symbiote Venom has is the only nice one. All the other Symbiotes want to leech life from their hosts and control them. The Venom Symbiote was cast away from its planet because it wanted to belong to its Host and become one rather than practically eat him. But since the Venom Symbiote is the one on Earth everyone should totally let themselves be infected by it. I mean look at how awesome Venom is. Who wouldn't want to be him?

Hey guys a cool tip is if you beat the game following the black path then if you continue the AutoSaved and roll the credits it will bring you back to menu and if u do this 2 or 3 times you will notice that your playing time extends and you start the game over keeping you experience and abilities to both suits making it a lot of fun to replay especially being maxed out early game. Also if its your first play through make sure to do all the optional side quests and a bunch of just random fights and save your Experience points as this makes your second run at the game (assuming you followed my first tip above) much easier because you are maxed out and if you are care enough go for the spider tokens as this makes your game a lot easier by increasing your health and special attacks, as well as increase swing speed so you can traverse New York better (Sorry for the long post :D).
It's been 4 days? Unless I'm wrong (which I could be), the first part of the game already takes place in night but he sorta "sleeps" (well he rests at least) so that doesn't count. The only other night's I remember are... 1: The one where you confort the two gang leaders, 2: The final one. So it's 2 days unless I'm wrong.

Althrough i liked that you can choose if you wanna be good or evil, they at least could have given you a tip on whats gonna happen if you take evil/good, for example the first choice. I didnt have any clue what would happen if i choose good or evil. Yeah im probarbly taking these guys out but what then?
agree, for a remake they should make it more obvious what will happen. but they also should make the hero path better. i havnt played this so idk what the hero path had but i imagine its just "normal spiderman or different spiderman" and no one will want to be the normal spiderman. so if they do a remake they should do it so that the evil spiderman has the cool part, being extra strong, aggressive, killing enemies. but the hero path should get benefits of allies to help you in fights. take away the symbiote empire because that makes the bad path -too cool- no one would ever pick anything else.

My friend, I can tell you that this was a very good game. The grapichs aren't bad since this was released back in 2008. The only REAL problem is that after finishing the game, there isn't much more. You can play again with the New Game+ mode but it gets a bit boring after a while. The game is strong with skin mods on PC though. (Wait, why did I mention modding when there is nothing related to modding here?)

I'll always have a soft spot for this game. It's always nice to have a game that lets you break established conventions of the universe, namely, Spider-Man becoming bad. To be honest, the bad choices in this game come off as the break Peter should have had. He got the women, got the money, got the power... It's almost as though they made the dark side a little TOO enticing in this game.
That's pretty much the point. Making the bad side feel so good. Just like the suit.

It's awesome to see the level of detail and love put into such an old game. You can see Peter's voice changing from friendly to menacing every time he switches into the symbiote suit. Easily one of my favorite Spider-Man games to date
well a lot of the times regularly Peter doesn't sound friendly like when he says at the beginning of the game after defeating Venom, he goes 'is she okay' and 'you're gonna be fine' - and when Spidey gets surrounded by the gang members, he still doesn't sound friendly....

Playing this game as a kid was very satisfying I got to play as both my favorite Spider-Man variants ever. It satisfied me to just turn into black suit and just hit a huge combo every time! It was one of the best ones in the franchise. And I kept playing the evil and good choices made me wanna play to see both ones over and over. And it would never bore me to just pick a new path! This needs at least a remaster or sequel either would be good! I recommend this.

1: Why are people complaining about the EVIL route? I mean, Peter Parker isn't spidey- the symbioye is. It's taken full control and critics and gamers are saying it's NOT LIKE PETER PARKER.

daryel hernandez Definitely. I have the game for PS3, and it sucks. The controls are poor, the graphics are crappy, it's super laggy, it's super glitchy, and the voice acting is okay at best. Spider-Man's voice is grating, the karmic options just appear without any thought on what might happen, and the camera is God awful.
I have it on ps2 and ps3 but I stopped playing the ps2 version is the story different

Love that the using your darkness to take out who you perceive as the bad guy just causes the cycle to go on an on. Wolverine at the end is just like Peter at the start. Choosing to use the symbiote to take out Venom did take Venom out, but just set Spider-Man to be the bad guy. Now Wolverine is going to do the exact same, and he will be crowned as the prince of darkness.

Actually, symbiotes weren't evil from the beginning. Some of they got corrupted, the original symbiotes want to do good deeds for no recompense. I would love to have an anti-hero symbiote with me.
Well actually the Symbiote Venom has is the only nice one. All the other Symbiotes want to leech life from their hosts and control them. The Venom Symbiote was cast away from its planet because it wanted to belong to its Host and become one rather than practically eat him. Hey guys a cool tip is if you beat the game following the black path then if you continue the AutoSaved and roll the credits it will bring you back to menu and if u do this 2 or 3 times you will notice that your playing time extends and you start the game over keeping you experience and abilities to both suits making it a lot of fun to replay especially being maxed out early game. Also if its your first play through make sure to do all the optional side quests and a bunch of just random fights and save your Experience points as this makes your second run at the game (assuming you followed my first tip above) much easier because you are maxed out and if you are care enough go for the spider tokens as this makes your game a lot easier by increasing your health and special attacks, as well as increase swing speed so you can traverse New York better (Sorry for the long post :D).

My friend, I can tell you that this was a very good game. The grapichs aren't bad since this was released back in 2008. The only REAL problem is that after finishing the game, there isn't much more. You can play again with the New Game+ mode but it gets a bit boring after a while. The game is strong with skin mods on PC though. (Wait, why did I mention modding when there is nothing related to modding here?)
