Slingshot vs Helmet

- Very strong bald German guy shoots with a deadly slingshot (heavy rubber tubes) at a motorcycle helmet. Incredibly big steel bullets are used. The video includes a slow motion of the dramatic effect. A ricochetting bullet still has enough power to smash a window, making the production involuntarily expensive...

I'd need a helmet if I had to explain a broken window like that to my wife.
@ËggMiŁK yes
@Alfie Green lol 8 year old
I expected a ricochet, therefore I shot at an angle. I didn't expect the ricochet to be that fast, though. And if you want to be "my friend", then please don't use foul language on my comment pages.
bum bum poopy poopy
@@theun-knownmusician5468 damn, crud
Joerg how can I bay your V slingshot and where...
Thanks i can use it at protests.
He’s not selling them, they’re out of production.....
Looking at that window damage, I can't help but wonder if those glasses would have provided any eye protection from that ricochet.
Dang. If that bullet had bounced back to him, he would have been seriously hurt or even killed.
wie konnte dir dieser lappsus passieren?
They would have. They were black.
Where is he getting those different color strength tubings? I wanted tubes instead of flatband but trumark doesn’t make replacement sets anymore and all the different colored Chinese ones are just the same as the weak yellow. I only managed to find decent red bands from other brand.
No it would go straight through them plastic things are qork googles bot projectile proof or resistant really
Of course! That was thousands of years before Goodyear invented vulcanized rubber.
David slings are very powerful, but also extremely hard to master. Lots of practice. No problemfor a sheppard, but who else has the time?
and after all these years watching your old videos makes me acknowledge how good you've become older. but you could wear a helmet more often.
1:43 The ALMOST birth of the famous laugh :D
the conclusion is:you broke your fucking window x)
is this why you film away from your house now joerg?
I do, minus the squads. Had a motorcycle accident when I was 19, the knee was damaged and I got to be careful. And I do not use steroids, never have, never will.
lol I love The accent
Woher hast du die Zwillen gummis bekommen ?
@thesashworth Flat rubber bands are faster and therefore more powerful than tubes. Plus, flatbands can be tapered for even more performance. The thinner the rubber, the larger the surface, the easier the bands can pick up heat from the environment. Rubber stores the energy thermally, so picking up heat is the key to performance.
Thank god, it didn't bounce back in to your face.
Lol at the great wording of: "making the production involuntarily expensive"
@emwaver Ad revenue doesn't even pay for the materials I use up every month, but I sold that house with broken window and all. Still got a good price for it.
No, that never happened to me. If you watch my slow motion studies (here on youtube), you will see how smooth things work.
A hit on the hand would be truly devastating. The slingshot has enough power to break your bones.
Holy shit it's been ~8 years since this video. I remember as a little kid inspired to make crazy things because of this video and now you're piercing police armour
So you’re one of those people, the media dramatized that whole video, he was doing it to show that no “stab-proof” armor is entirely safe.
@@jeriahp.2510 what are you talking about
This is an entertainment channel. Seems like many people enjoyed it. Mission accomplished. Was it dangerous? Sure. All stunts are. But I knew what I was doing, and of course I shot at an angle.
Ich plane die Durchführung von umfangreichen Tests aller kommerziell erhältlichen Schleudern, das erste Video kommt am Wochenende. Stay tuned!
@1makermovie Making more is boring, I enjoy making new designs instead. This is just a hobby.
10 years later this is still cool as hell
I love how he was all happy at first. Breaks his window. Insta-pissed. xD
Sorry, the "V"s I had produced are long gone, collector's items by now. And I do not plan to make more, as I have moved on to better designs.
I sold the house with the broken window... one way of solving the problem. It was not so bad, it was douple paned glass and only the outer pane was damaged. A bit of hot glue sealed it.
Not anymore. I had 50 pcs made and sold them (non-profit) to fellow slingshot friends, but those are long sold out.
I laughed out loud when I read the description of yourself, "Very strong bald German guy" hilarious. Great videos man informative and entertaining.
wow guy, should be more careful, i dont think your safety glass would work as strong as that tempered window, yikes.
You do a great job with the videos and slingshots. Awesome stuff!
I don't think many people take into account just how large this man's forearms are. No wonder he can hold back 40 JOULES with his hands
he didn't seem to bummed that HE FUCKIN CRACKED HIS ENTIRE WINDOW
I was thinking about, if I had to shoot with that slingshot, I would be using the helmet... and some gloves!
Thanks for share
@MrCampkill I, for one, am quite sure that in fact they WON'T help. I tested this in a later video, slingshot vs. safety glasses. But they look way cool, don't you think?
Wow.. 12 years have gone by since the channel begun!
@Pisscutterer I always shoot at an angle when I use steel ammo, so ricochets won't hit me. No such problem with lead balls.
@panchothepanda15 i can, too, now that my skills have improved and my slingshot design has seen many enhancements. Mind you his was one of my early videos.
Actually that is not my experience. I tested all kinds of rubber with my Chrony, and the solid elastic has the poorest performance. Multiple layers of very thin flat bands are the best. The thinner the better. Just they don't last as long.
Or colorful Euro banknotes, like the lilac type that has lots of "500"s printed on it.
@Wesley296 Absolutely.
@OBrien19 I had 50 pcs made for friends, sold them at cost. They were gone in no time and are now pretty hard to find.
Ok, I just saw the release video. Excellent. Thanks.
Stumbled across this video this while searching for reviews on German motorcycle helmets.... but you sir are a badass.
@abofs No steroids for me for sure, I am not THAT stupid. I shake because I am nervous on a video shot, and also because the bands are very strong.
That is a misunderstanding, I do not sell. This is just my hobby.
I use the stuff made by the Hygienic corporation. I buy it on ebay, but I guess you can buy it from orthopedic retail stores, too.

This guys personality is so gentle
no beard, no huHAHAHHA, no "LET ME SHOW YOU IT'S FEATURES" all in all 9/10
You are changing my mind about the power of slingshots. I forgot how much fun mine was, which I had as a boy. Excellent work on all your models, and the videos, too. Can you show in your next video the pulling tool you are using in this video? Archery pull, perhaps?
love your sling shot videos man!
"Always wear a helmet"
You mean, like when shooting slingshots at helmets?
There are no words to explain how awesome you are. Just discovered you, should be going to bed, but this is more interesting. Yay! Keep it up!
@LeTrel True... don't you think this is a pretty accurate description? :)
nice review man. thanks
I enjoy these older vids the best.....back when it was simply about cool, powerful slingshots...throwing steel and lead...
there always has to be a critic lol. Your shows are great buddy. Keep it up
I love all the dents in that flower pot :) Looks like it's taken a few stray rounds over time.
Love the videos, thanks for posting.
one of the best channels on youtube....very nice videos
I love the description!
Love you man, you are making the Best videos on youtube ever.....
How could you NOT have seen this coming? You wore glasses because you knew there was a good chance that the bullet was going to ricochet back into your face. Who would do this right in front of a wall of windows? Expensive lesson.
Your videos are GREAT. You seem like a fun guy.
thank god you are not hit by the iron ball. thank for the cool video!
No! Thank the laws of physics.
LOL... yeah right!
Best guy on CZcams! Hope your channel will be more and more successful!
this guy is the calmest bloke ever he puts a hole in his window and nothing lol
How can I make this? I couldn't find any tut vids on his channel. :|
You think I am young enough for my mom to give me crap?
Thanks very much! Drop by should you be in the area, I will buy you a drink.
I love the description of the video: "Very strong bald german guy shoots with a deadly slingshot at a motorcycle helmet."
sorry Joerg, i think you need to re-do this video, although i see you broke your window, your viewers did not get a close up of the damage that the helmet took first. Thanks for all your efforts, one almost-satisfied subscriber.
Hahahaha "I don't know if its going to come back so I'm going to put on these sun glasses" - risk averted. - Joerg one hell of one of a kind.
i love how the description says: Very strong bald German guy shoots with a deadly slingshot (heavy rubber tubes) at a motorcycle helmet.
wow... that ricochet was dangerous!! great videos..
The conclusion of this experiment is my wife is going to kill me.
Jesus, this guy looks like he could suplex a Terminator.
That's a nice model. Better than any I have seen available retail.
you look like a gentle guy but when you make your slingshots and put on your glasses you look like a badass :p
I tried to break a fibreglass car, a Robin Reliant, with a sledgehammer. I took a massive swing at the roof and the hammer just bounced off so violently I lost my trip on it and it went flying, fortunately no-one was near me. The moral of the story....don't mess with fibreglass.
and the way he turns and looks at you after the kill shot like you ain't got shit.. haha priceless
That must have been between 55 and 60 meters per second.
Man, the ricochet hit your house? That is crazy
Every band tears sooner or later. It is only a question of time. If you inspect your bands often enough, you can avoid snaps as you can see the start of a tear.
But of course I had hundreds of band snaps. In 99% of the cases, they snap on the pouch side and there is little danger. But I always wear safety glasses, my eyesight is too precious to be risked.
"yes hello, is this my homeinsurance? this is joerg sprave calling... again..."
Yes. Simple market scales (the ones with the hook) work best.
A very wholesome message at the end. :)
This is one of those hobbies that the wife will eventually demand you give up or else she'll leave you. Tell her you'll miss her.
brother.... that was ..... errrr dangerous???
i love your videos, just discovered your channel but its a damn fine channel
Awesome! love that test
Wow, imagine if that ricocheting bullet hit you... Interesting video description by the way :)
I love the way you sound just like the Heavy Weapons Guy. Specialy when you say "Boolitz"...
"Cry some more!!"
It was just 15 years ago, at that time I was still playing with traditional slingshots with lots of small rubber bands woven together.
Damn... those are some thick windows
I'm surprised your not pissed off that you broke your window, or maybe your just happy that the bearing did not come flying back at your face
haha those sunglasses weren't going to protect him again that ricochet.
I mean... a sunglasses can't protect you from a 30mm steel ball
I guess Mrs Sprave was not as impressed with your shooting and testing as the rest of us are ;-)
Keep up the good work, very much enjoy your videos and humour.
"People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks"
@JZFProductions You know, youtube brought us the PROFILE information feature.
I would conclude that someone is about to recieve a bollocking from their missus
I seen the ricochet coming,
I used to take care of pigeons at work with a bottle top strapped to a rubber glove finger and 8mm ball bearings.
Took out a few windows in the process! :P
hahahahahaha "the yellow is very weak. it is really for children" this guy is great lol
You sir, are very very impressive.
