    I am thrilled with the headlights. Putting them in was pretty simple. Frankly, I didn't even have to de-pin; I just used a hacksaw blade to cut a tiny notch in the hole I drilled in the dust cover. The gasket that was included in the package covered the notch completely.
    The existing ones that I had on my 2015 RAM were incredibly dim - these are fantastically bright. It is really surprising how much better I can see. Really great product.

    Got this kit for Father’s Day. Installed it about 2 months later. Found one of the ballast did not work along with both bulbs. Took about 4 days to talk to someone about my issue. Really disappointed as I had drilled my dust covers and had to tape them over. Took about 2 weeks to finally get replacement parts and everything working. My opinion is the light output increase is way better and a much needed upgrade. For the cost of these trucks HID’s should be included. My sons 07 Mazda 3 has Xenon lights from the factory. Unfortunately, they will soon be releasing the LED headlight assembly which I can’t justify spending $1300.00 on. 😞

    It's far easier to simply replace the entire headlight assembly. I switched from standard factory lights to Projector/Halo lights. No cutting or rewiring involved. Simple plug up and go. Believe it or not, going to sound stupid, but, screwing with and "MODIFYING" your headlight assembly, can cancel your vehicle warranty (already had to have this discussion with my auto dealership/garage over an aftermarket stereo installation. Was told ANY modifications to any part of the electrical system on my truck would void the factory warranty)......All the electrical components are monitored by the BCM/ECM modules and the slightest modification can cause a cascade effect throughout the system.

      Unfortunately, there have not been improvements that we can recommend to you for sreet use, except for the Morimoto XB LED Headlights. They are completely plug and play,, and will not even require the installation of a relay harness like these HID lights. They are a complete headlight assembly, and will have everything upgraded to LED already! I have linked those for you below, and if you have any questions just let us know! The HID on the high beam is quite useless, when you have to flash it.
    The HID have needs a few second to get hot and produce the maximum amount of light.
    You should better use, a LED kit for the high beams and even if this doesn't satisfies you, tried to add some LED bars or LED pods.

    If you get an obd mx + interface and alpha obd you can install led or hid with out all the kits, just plug them in and go to car configuration and change it to enable hid, you have to have a security gateway bypass for 2018 and up ram that you can get from kaod tech, the whole install on both sides took about 30 min!

    My 2014 Ram 1500 was built at the end of September of 2014. Im praying these work without a relay harness. I bought a set of 55W morimotos with the morimoto stand alone canbus adapters, and the headlights wouldnt attempt to come on. Reversed polarity still no luck. So now I bought this same kit,hopfully it works out. If this fails im moving on to LEDs, half the lumens with bad cut offs lol. I hope my truck doesnt have the 2015 setup. Using a relay harness isnt a option for me. In a couple of days will be the year of 2019. Seriously a relay harness in 2019? Lol

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 4 lety

      Are you asking if the HID ballast can go inside a headlight housing? Yes you can, but it's not ideal to cram that many electrical components together in a small unventilated area. They won't hurt anything but it MAY shorten the lifespan of the ballast or bulbs due to constant heat soak. the nice thing about having the ballast mounted externally is that it has access to moving air that is cooler than inside the headlight. Electronics gotta stay cool!

    I contacted the company verifying what kit to purchase and followed the link provided for my 2016 projector. They stated the kits were in stock and would ship immediately. Watching the shipping info it did not ship by day 4 so I tried to call, no answer, left message, no call back. Tried "chat now" no one ever there, sent email: no answer, posted on their Facebook and someone answered!!! So on day 7 after order a person responded on facebook asking for my order number and would look into it, no other response after the facebook "we will look into it". Item finally shipped and I received 15 days after order. Whew that was too much work.
    Well the Kit arrived and I started the install process: Grill off, headlight out, wires pulled, change out bulb...... wait this doesn't seem to match up. They sent me a kit that has 9012 bulbs instead of 9005. FFS lets see how long it takes them to answer this time. Unless they make this correct VERY quick well..... lets see what they do. I WOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE ORDERING. DIRECT FROM GTR WAS SAME PRICE.

    I have a 2015 ram 1500 with stock H11 reflector type headlight bulbs. I purchased LED bulbs not knowing I’d have so many issues trying to get them to work. The CANBUS system doesn’t tell me I have a bulb out and the lights work great with the key in the “on” position. Once I start the truck and the engine is running, I get 3-4 very quick flashes and the lights stay out. The lights also work when I unlock the truck with the key fob, but again once I start her up, they flash a few times then stay off. I tried load resistors and get the same issue. I called many places and it turns out the 2015 year for ram trucks is the “lemon” for lighting. I was Basically told I’m SOL and can never run an LED bulb. Then I found this video. I’m tempted to give it a try, but absolutely need to know if this will work for an LED bulb in a reflector type headlight housing. This video was made for an HID bulb in a Projector type housing. Can someone PLEASE confirm/deny!? Thanks

    For the reflector quad headlights. Would you recommend the gtr hid kit or supernova led. Ran the supernova but couldn’t stand that it had a bluish Tint compared to my turn signal bulbs I got from you guys, still was a quality product tho. Also if you happen to recommend the hid would the 35w or 50w be better, asking because I’m worried the 50w will cause the lense and reflector to get too hot and cause problems. I ask on her because I haven’t gotten a response through email for a week and I have a better chance of getting a response on here.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 6 lety

      Hey there my man, sorry on the delayed email response. For reflector housings, we feel LED bulbs are your best bet, as HIDs tend to throw a lot more glare from the bulbs. And in regards to your question about 55w or 35w, if you have a smaller headlight housing/space, we recommend the 35w HID kit due to less heat output from the bulb. If your housing has a decent amount of room, shoot for the 55w kit!

    • @briangarcia3008
      @briangarcia3008 Před 6 lety

      Headlight Revolution okay thanks led it is. I currently have the switchback turn signal which is a bright white. It was a kit I purchased from the ram section. When I had the supernova v3 in my low beams and fog lights it wasnt a match as they had more of bluish Tint to them but I was told it would be a perfect match. Any led low beams and fog lights you offer closer match to the switchbacks or vise versa as I’m willing to also switch out the switchbacks to get a closer match. Also why are the led fog lights 4000 lumens compared to the low beams which are 3000? Btw I have a 14 Ram with the reflector headlights.

      Aftermarket through autosaver88 on Amazon. Look great. Thinking about putting Laramie assemblies in but heard it requires a aftermarket relay for my ecu.

    Good video but you need to be more informative when connecting the harnesses / wires. You did with the headlight assembly at the bench but not when you reinstalled the headlight assembly to the truck.....

      Thanks for the feedback man, I will pass that up the chain! That aside, the wiring on the bench will be the same as the wiring in the vehicle, you will just have the vehicle powering the HIDs instead of a power supply. Thanks for the reply. I plan on buying the GTR 5th generation HID set up for my 2013 Ram 1500 Sport for both the LB’s and Fog lights but not the HB’s because of the instant on factor you had mentioned in one of your videos and that made sense.
      I did look into that company you mentioned that sold the predrilled headlight assembly dust cover and I have a question. I noticed they had predrilled both the LB and HB parts of the cover. In my case I only need the LB part predrilled. Can I order it that way?

      Unfortunately, you will only be able to get them with the 2 holes drilled, but they come with grommets in them that have the hole blocked off for the most part! If you were really worried about that, you could simply throw some hot glue back there on the high beam, and that would get the high beam sealed! Shoot us an email if you have any other questions! Cutting holes in your headlights. Removing the grill. Removing pins. Green wire to red wire. WTF?! Sticky taping extra stuff to your frame.This is not plug and play.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 6 lety

      supperterofsanity The kit itself is plug and play. Yes there is a lot of work that is involved with installing into these trucks so technically even replacing the factory halogen bulbs would not be plug and play. I assure you that when it comes to HID kits this is as pnp as you get with the Ram trucks.

      Plug and play means no splicing etc. That's it. It doesn't mean you just plug it in and go.

      Plug and play = non retro fit. The fact you can screw the bulb in and plug in the connector is "plug and play". Whereas a retrofit HID kit would require you to bake your housing and seperate it. Remove or insatall a new reflector (mostlikley projector), whuch requires hours if tweaking and some fabrication. THEN reassemble the headlight housing, and install a similar kit....
      Thats the difference, that is what makes this plug and play - you use your factory headlights..

    I'm going to say that depinning and drilling holes is the exact opposite of "plug and play... Also, way to put a hid in a non projector housing. Bright as hell and minimal light output.

      We just updated this video and now it is truly plug and play! No more depinning, No more drilling holes!

      HID bulb in a halogen projector. There is a youtube video somewhere that explains that putting those 2 together can actually make the HID dimmer than the halogen bulb.
      I think it knocked a 2400lm bulb down to 300lm.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 3 lety

      As plug and play as they get for an actually reliable kit! I don't know if you have tried many aftermarket lighting products in those Ram trucks or any MOPAR vehicle for that matter, but they are SOOO picky with any aftermarket lighting products. That said, the GTR Lighting HID kit is one of the few products that we have found that will not only fit in that housing, but will also continue to work for you instead of burning out! If you can find something else that works in that truck, great, but just know that even most of our LED bulbs will not work in that truck due to the OEM lighting system.
