  • This is how the sound module for an MT500 can be tested. This shows the self test checking as well as how the module operates.

I like how he had given his Motorola MT-500 radio dialogue from the Ghostbusters video game. (2:41)
I would've done the same myself.
My Motorola MT-5000 radio would look exactly like how it was seen in the video game with the long antenna, and it would mostly have just some dialogue from the video game.

There is also the HT1000 radio with long antenna used in Ghostbusters TVG. I made replacement labels for the HT1000 from artwork supplied to me by the model designer that worked on the video game,

Wish I could make one of these for my sister. She can't walk or talk due to cerebral palsy and just loves Ghostbusters. Are those original radios still purchasable today?

I found one on Mercari for almost $100.

Yes, I do offer modded MT500 radios and also Modded Spirit Halloween Walkie Talkies. See the description for links.
The Spirit Walkie Talkies are lower cost, but do not have external volume control or external quote selection. The talk button also slides instead of presses.
The sound module will also play a selection every 1 minute to 8 minutes (user settable) if you leave it on...

Question, I got the ghostbusters full upgrade kit, but when I activate slime blower the cyclotron lights turn orange instead of green, is there a reason why?

I would need to know which powercell board and cyclotron lights you have. The boards do have self test modes to more directly check the LEDs. It would be easier to send pictures of the parts and continue this in some other forum... I am user spongeface on GBFans.

Does the radio need to be a working one? Don’t know that mine works.

The sound module takes over all functionality, so it no longer would work as a radio/walkie talkie even if it was working before.
It needs a working power (on/off) switch, talk switch and speaker. It also would like to use the volume potentiometer and frequency selector switch, but those are not required.
The switches' and knobs' connections are removed from the original electronics and only used by the sound board directly with new wires.
