The fact that Eva Marie was set to be the first Smackdown Women's champion is still crazy to me and would've made fan lost their minds.
And yet the fans accepted Debra and Sable as women’s champions. Please.
I will always say that Eva Marie would’ve made a great manager and occasional wrestler like Maryse but full time and I think attaching her to maybe Dolph Ziggler to give Dolph a push would be pretty good or maybe someone else?
But managers need to talk and Eva sucks at that part too
@@realretrorelapse she was getting better in the ring and talking is probably easier to learn so if given a couple of months to train on talking she could’ve learned. Also your only as good of a talker as your promo and besides plenty of good talkers have sucked at promos. I do get what your saying though.

The storyline of Kennedy being revealed as Vince’s son and taking over wwe from Steph, Linda, and triple h for a year until Vince came back from the dead would’ve been interesting to see honestly
Hassan still one of the best heels ever & the Benoit thing in hindsight probably wasn’t a bad idea. He had enough concussions & didn’t need any more, obviously…

Like Puder or not, the fact that WWE denied him the 1 million although he had won the competition, is just coruption at its best!
Not to mention they punished the guy for protecting himself from a pissed off olympic medal carrying wrestler who just broke someone else's ribs in front of him.
yeah, that whole situation stinks. Angle was clearly at fault for going off script. was that during his addiction time? cause it's kind of even worse if you think of how WWE protected the irresponsible hot head on painkillers over the clean MMA fighter

He signed a contract knowing he'd get 250k a year for four years and that the contract could be cancelled at any time. The idea that WWE should have kept him under contract for 3 further years to pay him money he really wasn't worth (he was crap at wrestling) is ridiculous.

Part of the issue with Eva Marie was that NXT very quickly went from a development territory-where things like mistakes should be expected- to what was considered to be the best of wrestling, mostly because it was just where they put indie guys before vince could get his hands on them.
If that happened in OVW, then the trainers would just say "ope, more training needed" and then move on. And the fans would move on
It was Angle who ruined Puder's career. He knew he was an MMA fighter and didn't plan out the match beforehand, then politicked and bullied Puder afterwards. Puder should have known not to shoot on him, but the clue is in the name Tough Enough.

If you’re not willing to put your pride aside and take the L momentarily then you’re not cut out for it. Putting Angle, a WWE regular and money maker for the business, in harms way because you want to push yourself selfishly then you deserve to have your push denied.

That's a dumb ass reply, when Angle went off script and almost got his own arm broke, then threw a tissy fit because he got manhandled and shown not to be the grappling expert he claimed to be. Angle was only supposed to have the Inpromptu grappling match with one person, thinking he's a bad ass grappler, and he's gonna show up the newbies he challenged someone and got shown up. That's not Puders' fault. That's Angles fault for not sticking to the script. It makes him the same kind of backstage bully JBL is. Absolutely dumb as fuck. He buried Daniel Puders carrer because he couldn't get over his own ego.

How did Puder ruined his career. We don't know whether the match was shoot or scripted. He just sucked the heat out of beloved Angle, and the locker room ganged up on him.
Puder wouldn't have broken his arm either like the commentary makes out. He dared to be good at the thing they told him to do.

I started a Reddit thread about this and got a lot of conversation going. My whole point is if Kurt challenged him to a SHOOT and lost, that’s nobody’s fault but his own. How can you punish somebody for not laying down in a SHOOT? Keep it all a work if you don’t want that to happen. 🤷🏽♂️

Poor Ken Anderson. Mr. Kennedy would've been one of the former WWE Superstars from the 2000s to return to WWE like MVP and Carlito.
Mr. Anderson's "giving his own ring introduction" gimmick is one of the most entertaining things I've seen in the past 20 years.
I think I'm the only one who thinks if Mr. Kennedy did return to the WWE, the former Mr. Money In The Bank might get a pop similar to Carlito's appearance in Puerto Rico this year.

You lost me on Daniel Puder and Mr. Kennedy. They didn't even ruin their careers. Kurt Angle was the one who acted all tough with an MMA Fighter and Mr. Kennedy was a victim of backstage politics

Kennedy has since said that it wasn't Randy's fault and that he himself is entirely to blame as he had a poor attitude and was injury prone then, obviously, the wellness policy failures. He's been very open about it during an interview with CVV.
When was this? I remember in his YouShoot circa 2017 he said Randy overreacted, the back suplex landed fine if you look at another camera angle, and it was some conspiracy between Randy and Cena to get him cut. He also very much bristled at the idea that he had any responsibility for his rash of injuries, it was just bad luck

I can't find the exact clip, but in this clip that I'm linking at around about the 2:20 mark, he says it was his fault, and he took his foot off the gas, and as much as he wishes he could say people conspired against him ultimately it's his fault he was in that position.

In the final moments of the match, she put Rosemary in an armbar and won the match. Reports came out that when she put the armbar on Rosemary, she legitimately injured her and had wrenched Rosemary's arm out of it's place. It led to outrage from both fans and wrestlers, she was stripped of the championship she retained by AAA shortly after and was blacklisted from both WWE and AEW, well by the latter once the promotion was born 2 years later.

Wrong. Puder played dirty pool and went into business for himself. Submission holds aren't legal in amateur wrestling. Puder was selfish, puerile, and myopic. If not for Angle's quick thinking and professionalism that segment could've been catastrophic. Puder actually got off easy.

I thought it was meant to be an amateur wrestling match, not an MMA fight. The submission would have be illegal (and pretty dangerous considering Angle’s lack of MMA training). He really screwed himself in that situation if thats the case.
First time I saw Ken Anderson aka Mr. Kennedy was on Smackdown’s B-show Velocity. What was weird was that I saw him in that usual jobber spot but was the type who had an entrance with some generic music and would put up a fight but ultimately lose. Than a couple weeks later there he is again on Velocity facing Funaki and as he made his way he made a face when he was introduced like “What is that?” And than jogged to the ring and took the mic to make his own introduction. I was like “What’s this jobber doing?” He even redid Funaki’s introduction. And he beat Funaki

There has been plenty of guys with MMA backgrounds now in WWE over the years and beloved by the roster but it is a different roster from back then so yeah roster back then might have been mad he did know MMA.
Totally agree. Not only ankle - several wrestlers used those segments to take their frustrations out on the rookies. I remember Hardcore Holly just beating a guy up randomly during one of those "training" segments.for pretty much no reason other then because he was able to.
Not for nothing, but I don't blame Puder for doing that. You need to make a name for yourself somehow. Why not do it by showing Angle why you think you have a right to be there in the first place? I really don't see anything wrong with it, and it was pretty obvious that good old Kurt was really in it from the word "go."

Eva Marie never wanted to be a wrestler, she wanted to be famous. I don't blame her for taking the opportunity offered to her. And I don't blame WWE for pushing her - she drew attention, hell she has 6.5 million Instagram followers today. But her inability to improve in the ring, or generate any personality on the mic, meant that her only skill was appearing on posters, and wrestling isn't 2D. Shilling makeup, energy drinks and fitness gear on Instagram is about all that's in her wheelhouse, and apparently she's doing pretty well at it.

Is Paul Heyman the best judge of talent in wrestling today?
Aside from Brock Lesnar, the one wrestler who I feel he judge correctly was Will Ospreay. It was almost maybe 7 to 8 years ago in his early days when he was still skinny and very very agile and truly the Aerial Assassin. There was a clip on CZcams with Paul Heyman praising Will. With hindsight, it’s a more remarkable CZcams clip now than before since we’ve seen what he has accomplished in New Japan and made a world wide name for himself.

Eva Marie is a no talent nothing. The fact she was told to dye her hair blonde and went red and lied about being able to dance so she could be with Fandango tells you all you need to know about her. It’s not woman bashing. Lots of male wrestlers have gone into business for themselves and have been punished severely. This one defied creative and lied and nothing happened to her. This was all during her first run on the main roster.

Kennedy/Anderson was always a much better talker than a wrestler. His own cockiness and arrogance ended his WWE career. Plus he was a sloppy botch machine and hurt Randy Orton during a match, making him land right on his recently surgically repaired knee. Orton and Cena rightfully complained about him to Vince and that was the end of him there. Good, he never deserved the push he got to begin with!
