I can proudly say that this 58 yr old DM is this show's biggest fan! ❤❤❤❤
I'm 51 and it's gotten to the point where my body experiences actual physical cravings for these episodes. I now understand what addiction feels like.
@DolFan316 jmo, it's how a role-playing game should be played online.
Many of these famous online "productions" just don't seem genuine. Guy & his group, imo are genuine in their approach & they all play well off one another. They don't need a soundtrack or expensive sets & lighting. Bravo to Guy & his players!
I turn 58 in June. I also agree
Well, you are all welcome. Thank you for your kind words. It's an awesome table of players so it makes it easy :)
Gottfried enraged...what a sight! And what is so very special about this Bard to him??? Other than obvious charm. Bravo Durin & Georgie! Bravo! More, please! And thank you!
Absolute gym of an episode! I did not see the conflict between Georgie and Dorin popping up this time, so well done.
Loved every minute of this episode... ❤
The campaign has been great fun to watch so far. I think everyone is doing a great job, but I have to mention one character that has been absolutely amasing. The prince. He is just brilliant
Great roleplaying from all of them! Already looking forward to next week's episode :)
So, it seems elves in this world are basically Vulcans...
Elves within the Ethane Democracy are Vulcan like... except for the slave thing. There are three other elvish cultures to meet still :)
Absolutely beautiful! Best episode yet, in a fantastic show! You guys are amazing!
Another great episode. As you all said at the end it was a great way to handle a split party, and was great that Maurice was able to hint at a lot of back story between him an Avery while Brendan and Grace where unleashing their characters' past. All while Scott was sweating, waiting to see if Avery lived or not. :)
I wonder how made up on the fly this arc was, maybe that is a question for the next campaign review episode. Guy introduced an orb, that a player just grabbed instead of maybe asking about, then failed a save to lead to this whole Shadowfell arc. This just seems like a whole happy accident by Scott, and a few failed rolls to change the direction of everything, that they may be able to get back to, as long as they don't all die in the Shadowfell. That has to be quite a challenge on the DM to adapt to this new direction, and for it to be playing out so well, narratively.
Really enjoying this keep up the fun
🎉 Great as usual
I love this series. I can't believe they left Alexander. I'm quite sure one of the monsters in the first session was named Lord Dis.
You would be correct Cody!
Yeah we caught that as well! Challenging not to metagame, tho ;) maybe it’ll all turn out alright?! ;)
Awesome!
Dropped early for me on the eastern U.S. time zone! 😃👍🏻
I've been genuinely hooked on these series, am a learning-to-be-a-DM newbie, I really love to see you doing DM'ing in action after seeing so many of your vids so far and love to see your practices in a real session too and to see how you handle things (the previous vid about your mistakes at the start etc was also really useful). But in general am also just really hooked on the plot of this campaign, it's been super enjoyable and been excitedly waiting for each episode, also very nice format, watchable and easy to see what's happening.
I'm not sure if you happen to read my comment, but I will try to ask one thing: You have a lot of videos on DM'ing and even player topics, but I didn't had luck finding such related, but maybe you can help me out (or not). Do you happen to have any video or help on how to handle a player as a DM if someone in the party possibly wishes to play an "evil" character or a character that wants to betray the party at some point? How does one work with that and what happens after a possible betrayal with that player? (In terms of how do the players RP afterward? Do they separate or something? And such things.) I would appreciate if you could recommend any of your vids (if you have any on such topic) for this question.
Hopefully, Guy will be able to answer and I know your question was directed to him, but I know your situation. YOU as a DM have a responsibility to ALL your players. Not just 1 player who requests to play an evil character. If this request has come after session zero, was this topic ever discussed before the campaign started? Was there a session zero?
I have a few videos on playing evil characters. What you're asking for specifically is a looooong term game of betrayal. The PC would need to have shown signs of being against the party or working their own agenda from the beginning of the campaign. There MUST be moments where the loyalty of the PC is questioned by the other PCs - they must have a chance to detect this duplicitous action. Finally, the evil PC and player must accept that they may be caught out BEFORE they can betray the party. There can be no grouchy grumbling. At that point, if the PCs don't kill the evil PC, that character becomes an NPC under the control of the GM. The player must make a new character and that new character should be loyal and good. Otherwise the player will find that no one in the group trusts the player at the table any longer.
@@HowtobeaGreatGM Ah, thank you so much, I appreciate the reply greatly! I didn't really know it was how it worked, good to know how it is handled. I have two players who are (along with me, as the DM) new to DnD and they asked before how does the evil character part work for the DM or how it handled.
🤔 still waiting for episode 11 to drop. And it's 1:10pm eastern U.S. time..
Let's go!!
These come out on Friday at 6.30pm UK time :)
These are really amazing. Excellent examples of GM and role playing, but the into is tiring. I always fast-forward past it. Its unnecessary
Total bs! This guy is not worth saving! Totally unrealistic that anyone would save that guy! The king is the most important person here, and avery has been downright evil to him! No way anyone goes after him!
What happened was a selfish player didn't give a damn about anyone else in the group!
Why ???? No reason to go after this guy! Dude better have a good reason and better tell the group!
