    Leading Strike is very dependent on real-time with pause instead of turn based combat. You can proc it many times in a single round with multiple characters hitting the enemy at once, but in turn based you cant overlap attacks for more procs. This is a huge factor in evaluating that specific ability.

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi there, and thank you for the note.
      I do play mostly on RTwP, but I imagine Leading Strike in Turn Based will only truly be worthwhile if you have characters focused on generating Attacks of Opportunity as my builds often are, so you can still get attacks from other party members during your turn.
      But of course, it will require the other party members to be decently close to you, so long as they have enough reach with whatever their weapon is.
      How's the synergy with it and mounted combat in Turn Based though?

      @@cRPGBro Just tried it out with Seelah mounted on her horse. They alternate attacks. Horse attacks first, then Seelah, then the horse which gets the divine damage from the leading strike mark, then Seelah again and so on. I wish Seelah attacked first, but it still works pretty good. Only at mythic level 1, so looking forward to the increase in damage in the future.

    Leading strike is incredible with mounted melee characters in both turn based as well as real time because even at turn based you attack at the same time as your pet so you proc leading strike at the very least once per round. In late game this is around 10-30d6 additional damage per full round attack

    Expanded Arsenal is weird, but balance-wise and psychology-wise I think it's an interesting mechanics.
    It's a delayed reward.
    You spend your entire game not improving that one school you want to use and then finally by the end of the game you gain your reward.
    It's kinda like powerful lvl 20 feats that some classes have that you really look forward too.
    Hard work and sacrifices that pay off in the very end.

      I personally just prefer to have access to it early even if it means less DC (and frankly the extra DC boost from stacking multiple Spell Focus doesn't really matter in the end unless you are soloing).
      Often for a DC Caster I'll go full Conjuration from level 1 then apply it all to Illusion at around level 10 or so.

    One Note on Thundering Blows: If use Thundering blows, and combine it with the White Dragon Heavy Armor (found in Areelu's Lab) as well as Elemental Barrage, you will basically guaranteed proc an AoE Elemental Barrage every turn. Thundering Blows is a Sonic AoE, and your chance is pretty high of proccing it at least once every round. The White Dragon releases a 2d6 short range Frost Nova every Round, dealing Frost Damage to everyone near you. White Dragon also does Friendly Fire, but that is easy to overcome with a Resist Energy Communal Spell. It's a pretty nice way to boost the damage outpout of melee characters with mediocre Attack Bonus. You can even extend the combination with the Enforced Vigor Mythic Ability, using the White Dragons Friendly Fire to buff your Allies.

    I found the best use for Vital Strike is when you are out of position in a battle. Simply put, when you can't devote a full action to doing a full attack. There are moments when classes need to sing or do various things that aren't swift actions like Ranger's Bond. Replacing the normal attack in that round with even a normal Vital Strike is better then just ending the turn or throwing out a single, normal attack.

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  Před 2 lety +2

      Yeah, for those cases Vital Strike can be pretty good, especially when using Demonic Charge since you are limited to a standard action.
      I imagine it's also a lot better for Turn Based where your movement is really limited (as far as eating your full attack action).

  • @xelloskaczor5051

    one interesting mythic ability is master shapeshifter. that works on any kitsune turning into human form, thus you "sacrifice" your bite attack for +4/+4/+4 str dex con, giving your martial characters +2ac +2ab +2 damage, some hp, saving throws and this is untyped

  • @guiltyshoes
    @guiltyshoes Před 2 lety +2

    Problem is that you always seem to use Trickster mythic which gives some ridiculous bonuses and also best gear available for a character. This may seem cool, but this is not realistic. I play on Hard and its incredibly difficult to stack enough of AB to reliably hit enemies. Don't know what you talking about, but there really not that much ways of increase attack bonus in game, and some of them are class specific, mythic specific, only last for a few rounds or only work for specific target (like mark of justice)

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi there, I already have a guide here explaining to really stack AB to the max:
      czcams.com/video/8-epQ9sPRtU/video.html
      The bonuses from Trickster often mean just a +1 to either Weapon Enhancement or +1 to an Ability Score such as from a Belt, they don't matter that much.
      It is true that some bonuses are low duration, but they are still of extreme importance when fighting the actual tough enemies of the game.
      I have also completed a Hard run before, and hitting the enemies was not really troublesome, but I did have a Skald. This run was also with a Demon, so I didn't have access to Trickster abilities or the Angel & Lich merged spells.
      Even something as the +3 version of Finnean can already highly increase your chances of hitting Chapter 3-6 high AC foes because of how powerful Brilliant Energy can be.
      The usual trash mobs don't tend to have that high AC, even on Unfair (besides early game when your stats are still really low).
      It is true that some party class choices like Paladin, Skald & Cleric will make a massive difference AB wise, but when it comes to the harder difficulties, you don't have as much freedom as to what to pick if you want efficiency.
      For Normal and Core, you can certainly have a smooth run with lots of different party compositions.

    @MrGouldilocks Před 2 lety +2

    Great guide learned a lot
    I'm curious though, why do you rate mythic two weapon fighting highly, but you don't like mythic rapid shot? They are practically identical in that they gave you an effective plus two to all of your attacks.

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  Před 2 lety +1

      Glad the guide was useful to you!
      I feel like the Two Weapon Fighting penalties are harsher, because you have a lot more attacks when dual wielding than with Rapid Shot (especially when you consider all the free Attacks of Opportunity you'll be getting per round). But both can be useful, that's for sure.
