  • I know my project pans are my most popular video on my youtube channel, but things really need to change! I don't feel happy having so many projects going on at once, and I'm going to pull back soon-ish! Enjoying my makeup collection is going to be a priority for me, and I'm very excited for this new chapter!

    I love shop my stash videos! It is fun to hear why someone is drawn to certain products during certain times of the year. A monthly shop my stash would be fun!

    I absolutely understand you want to reduce. I tried panning eyeshadow and I just cannot. I'm bored after two weeks and doing my make up turns more into a chore I have to do and not being fun anymore. At all. Also, I don't use panning not just for using up stuff but to reduce mental load, too, but I don't want to be bored by my collection, I just don't want to think about it so much.
    My solution to this was randomizing my eyeshadow palettes. I have a jaw with little notes with all my eyeshadow palettes on it and every day I'm doing my make up I pick one randomly. I love this. It's fun, it's a challenge and I really enjoy doing my make up. It helped me, too, to sort out which palettes I love and which I really don't. Whenever I get a specific palette and every single time my first reaction is 'meh' maybe it's time to let it go. This really works for me.
    As for video ideas: maybe change your companion palette from monthly to weekly and do a dedicated video using them and giving us a look like for us to use as an inspiration? Could be fun.

    I really liked Hailey O's project of testing all her eyeshadow palettes. You could do a letter a month, or a palette a week or something. Same with every other product group. One a week would work on blush, foundation etc. This way you would use everything you own at least once a year, probably more. AND you would have new series to post and people will watch that. Hailey's series is quite popular I think, I love to watch those! they are like mini reviews.

    As long as you show some empties or pans once in a while, when you get them, I'm in. I have no problem with other content, specially if you show us the use in the things that you are using. I really enjoy watching collection change, even if it is small.

    As someone who found you through your panning content, I completely support the changes to your channel. I too have a massive makeup collection and have tried panning several times over the last several years and have found it just doesn't work for me. There are some things that I use up organically, things I open and use start to finish not bouncing around, like foundation, bronzer, mascaras, brow products, eye and face primers and setting sprays. I have no issue using things up that way but my color cosmetics, especially eyeshadow, I cannot pan. Every time I try it, I dread doing my makeup and eyeshadow is my favorite so I really don't like dreading it. I have accepted that much of my eyeshadow collection will end up going to waste but I have it and it is what it is. As long as I am using other products and whittling down my collection that way, I am perfectly content to bounce around my collection and enjoy it.
    I think you would be doing a disservice to your channel if you didn't change things up. Viewers can tell if you are not enjoying what you're doing and it becomes hard to watch. I think there is nothing wrong with growth and change. Now, this is an opportunity to gain new subscribers who enjoy other content besides panning. Sure, you will lose some, but who knows how many more you will gain. Honestly, if you never gained any more, being happy with what you're doing brings so much peace and joy that it would all be worth it, in my opinion. I will be sticking around and looking forward to your new content ❤

    I feel exactly the same way about project panning. I think there are good reasons why a person might do panning, but "getting use out of everything" is a terrible reason because it makes no sense. I have about 50 palettes, so if I use one each week I can go through them all in a year. I've never understood the logic of using one thing all year if you have more than one.
    I have a roulette wheel on my phone with the names of all my palettes on it. I don't use it every day, since some days I'm inspired to do a specific look. But most days I use the roulette wheel. I really like it!

    I do get the fear of getting less views. What I've seen from people who earlier used to do project pan but now have stopped is that they still have that essence of project pan- older makeup getting used- by having series like shop my stash, or full face of nothing new, or one brand tutorial.
    As for me, I looooveeee shop my stash videos so maybe you can look into that.

    Some of the top reasons I love your channel for are seeing some of the older makeup getting used, and because I’m so tired of the review channels just showing new new new. I’m glad to hear you’re not abandoning panning completely though. Hopefully you’ll find the joy of using all your makeup again! I’m here for gtwm’s and shop my stashes✨

  • @alexisbowen7483

    Please make whatever videos make you happy. I will say I am someone who found your channel because of your panning content. I'm tired of just constantly seeing "new new new" in every beauty video I watch. I love watching people use what they already have and even panning it. I can't speak for everyone but as long as you have the spirit of panning, shop my stash, etc then I'm definitely sticking around. If your channel turns into 6/7 videos are about new content and only 1 video is about what you already have then I might not watch as many videos.
    Maybe an idea if you do review new content, maybe look in your collection and see if you can dupe the vibes, even if just in a short after the fact or something? Obviously make content that makes you happy, this was just an idea.

    I love to do project ten uses for eyeshadows and lip products which I select randomly or by something new I want to use, and then I do Deck of Panning and Face the Music to pull things in for usage goals. I am so happy with how much I am getting to know my collection and it is all getting loved.

  • @Neonoglow
    @Neonoglow Před 2 měsíci +2

    I can understand getting tired of Project Panning. It tends to make makeup feel more like a chore so I have to switch it up. You could try doing different type of pan content. For instance, I think SofieAlexandra does 1 week 1 palette. I think that would be a fun way to rotate through your collection and really get to know your palettes. I was going to suggest the way Sarah Rose does it! I came here to update my comment, and then you mentioned in the video. Haha. I enjoy watching her too. Also, doing more usage goals vs panning or completing items. I have an excessive amount of makeup, and it makes it difficult to do pans for long periods of time.

    I am a new subscriber and love your project pan content! I love watching creators get use out of their makeup as I have a larger collection myself and really try to use as much of it as possible. I too cannot pan properly in fear of neglecting all else. This year, I've put use goals on my collection (use each lipstick x amount of times), it helps me to use more freely.
    In terms of panning content, people tend to do roulettes which I feel tend to do reasonably well as well, similar to your 'going though all my eyeshadows'

  • @nicoledijkstra7168
    @nicoledijkstra7168 Před 2 měsíci +1

    There are also project pans with usage goals like pan that eyeshadows. Maybe doing that instead of use up projects still make you do projext pans and still be able to use your whole collection. Panning something to completion is not for everyone but I love panning creators as they use stuff more then once and give small reviews after using something a lot of rimes or to completion and thus I trust their reviews more. I personally don't have a huge collection so I don't mind to use up a small part off it by mostly focusing on it at the moment but I know not everyone likes to do that

  • @sienshine268
    @sienshine268 Před 2 měsíci

    I do love to see a few project pans, but I am amazed that you do so many projects at the moment. It seems overwhelming so I really understand that you want to stop with a few of them. Personally, I really like your pan that palette, pan those eyeshadows, pan that face palette and your normal project pan. You could do a fun prompt based project as well, but I think usage goals would be better for that. I like your grwm when I do my makeup so that’s perfect that you will keep doing those kind of videos 🥰

  • @KatariinasVanity
    @KatariinasVanity Před 29 dny

    Do whatever you think is right for you ❤ I have felt really conflicted about project panning for years now. My makeup collection is really small, almost minimal at this point, and I only want to do neutral and subtle makeup nowdays. So I'm quite opposite to you but still I feel project panning is not that helpful for me anymore. In fact I think it easily gets me to a really toxic mindset - I force myself to wear heavier looks I really want to and I don't let myself use whatever products I want to. So while I still do panning I notice myself slowly moving away. And I want to expand my content to be not only beauty but also style, trying to have my channel focus be on using what I have, mindful consumerism and minimalism. But I totally get the fear of losing views if I quit or reduce panning. So often I feel I'm panning for CZcams and other people, not for myself.
    And I got to say. I have never understood panning products to completion when the collection is so huge, that most of it will expire anyways before it can realistically be used up. I see a lot of project panners doing this while bringing in a lot of new products that they don't allow themselves to use because they're so focused on panning. Disclaimer, it's none of my business what other people do but I just don't get that. So much of that product is going to waste instead of being loved and used. So if I still had a large collection I would definitely rotate trough it instead of hyperfocusing on just few things for the sake of project pan.

    I did project panning for 2 years when I seriously needed to curb my spending. I would make crazy impulse purchases left right and center. Once I finally cut back on spending and became a more conscious consumer, I slowly phased out project pans. I don't think project panning is supposed to be a FOREVER thing, at least not for most people

  • @shadryana
    @shadryana Před 2 měsíci +4

    I say don't wait 6 months if you feel like making some changes now. Maybe do updates for some of the projects every 2 months so you have time to create other content or just make a big video with project finales for most of your projects, keep what you wanna keep and move forward. I think branching out to do other content will really help grow your channel, project panning is a small niche and most project pan youtubers have

    I think a « recreate Pinterest/insta makeup looks » serie could be fun ! No matter what you use, it does more focus on technics, of creating effects and creativity in general, more than encourage overconsumption with too many « new makeup » videos :) I used to review so much makeup on my tiktok that I’ve lost all of my creativity and felt so overwhelmed with products I used 1 Time for a review and never touch again… I think you can find a balance between reviewing new products and still creating content around old makeup. This serie (recreating pinterest looks) bring back my creativity and my love for makeup 😊 also, I think that changing your content is fun if that’s what you want, you are going to gain a new audience that will discover you through new videos ! If you stay consistent and post video often, the algorithm will align with you and who you want to be seen by 🙂‍↕️😊 can’t wait what you will do in the future !

    Hoping this won't become a "new new new" channel because I just don't watch them as much even if I LOVE the creator. Hoping for shop my stash type content, maybe duping videos using old stuff to dupe new releases, etc! You could even do "1 week 1 palette videos" or something! or a Eyeshadow project like what Hailey O or Sofia Alexandra do would be so cool to see, just thoroughly testing everything you own!

    I have over 450 eyeshadow palettes lol so I understand completely on where youre coming from on project panning neglecting the rest of them. I have considered to back away from it as well, especially with school and stuff. I used to split my makeup in hald weekly. I'd use project pan items like Sunday - Wednesday and whatever else I wanted on Thursday - Saturday. That way I could have a decent round out, however, its so hard to balance everything with a large collection.

    I think project 10 uses would be good for you but you also have to roll in different things and not the same old stuff. You should have picked a different pan that palette instead of the same one from last year. I think smaller goals are going to be better for you. I pull 2 companion palettes to go with my pan pallete and it’s so chill. Lol.

    I think the problem with panning content in CZcams l is that you always feel the pressure to show “good results”, making it super difficult to actually enjoy the process of panning. I think you should continue panning but in a lighter way. You dont have to use your pan that palette until all shades are over. Maximum hit pan and move on. And this as a long-term project. You don’t have to hit pan as quick as you can, enjoy the process!

I recently started watching your channel because of your project panning.. I hope you don't completely stop doing that maybe reduce your projects to one or two projects and take away those usage goals if those seems to be too much or crab something what you want to finish in your makeup collection and do it in your own time. Take much time as it needs we don't need monthly updates of it.

    You just do too many projects. Do one or two not everyone that is out there. Your videos become boring when you have no progress because you’re doing too many projects. Also you should consider doing those close up videos people do on eye looks. Yours are cute and that could be another form of getting videos out.
