When I was a preschool teacher we put all the plastic toys that had been played with in one of those mesh sacks and into the dishwasher specifically for sanitizing at the end of every day to help prevent the spread of illnesses.
+Ellie Krug Also I would have separated all the Lego blocks before washing them. Some of them were still joined together before Rachel put them in the machine so not every part of every brick was washed..... but then I'm a bit too fussy! lol
I think you need to pull the lego apart so that it all get clean xp great video by the way, love how it all feel so put together and the information is always so clear
This isn't really a cleaning hack but.. Ever since I was little, whenever my sister and I had blocked noses, my mum would cut an onion in half and put it in our rooms while he slept and when we woke up we were all better. Definitely recommend this :)
Love the lego hack - will have to remember that one when I have kids someday! My mom and I tried the Keurig vinegar hack this Summer and oh man...I was tasting vinegar in my coffee for days! I even cleaned it out like you said and went through many rounds and it still had that awful taste! It does get it clean though for sure! Just a tedious task as it can take so long! Great video, Rachel! Love the DIY disinfectant spray too! xoxo
I'll try that next time! Keurig also makes their own cleaner, which came with my new machine, but god knows what's in it chemically. I will try half water half vinegar next time! Thank you :) Andrea Anonymous
when cleaning out keurig with vinegar after a few rinses add baking soda to a cup if it fizzes run a few more through. keep doing this until it stops fizzing. also I find that washing all parts and letting air dry out of the machine makes a big difference. but do this after all the rinses with water
at first I was going to skip this video but as soon as I saw the first tip I paused the video and scrubbed the sink. I loved all the tips. your videos are always awesome.
Nice cleaning hacks. I always put the lemons down the disposal to clean and give it a fresh smell : ) I also like to use old socks to dust the ceiling fans in the house. It always me to get both sides clean faster.
For it to be an effective disinfectant I think there has to some sitting time where you allow it to work before wiping it away. Melissa Maker or Clean my space explains it all. Great hacks though :)
These are great ways to clean. My mom taught me all these things growing up. She has always been into different cheaper ways of doing the same job. Another great idea is after you use your dryer sheet. Use it to clean/dust your tv/computer screens gently. Picks up the dust perfectly. I also learned that instead of buying a bunch of chemical air fresheners for the car, Soak a rag in fabric softener and let dry. Place in a ziplock bag with holes all over and place under the seat in the car. Keeps fresh for a month and when your done just throw in the wash.
One of my dreams... Meet you!! I have been obsessed with your videos since you film from your old office with a little rack of clothes behind you! Always enjoy your videos and love your personality, that chick, elegant, kind beautiful momma, wife and woman!! Aways thumbs up! For an inspirational girl! ❤️❤️❤️
I seriously cleaned the inside of my cupboards yesterday and had to open all the windows to clear out the smell from a terrible cleaner that my partner bought. Now I need to find essential oils in Switzerland.. :) Great video Rach!
Lego in the washing machine! That's brilliant, I was dreading my Lego stack and having to scrub each one individually to get them clean. Thanks for the smart tip.
Maybe you should try the dish washer machine instead of your clothes washing machine. I feel like that would ruin your washing machine as apposed to a dish washer which is meant to clean hard solids, plastic included.
Cleaning a keurig: after a few cycles of water put some baking soda in the cup if it fizzes you know you need to keep running water through as there is still vinegar in there. Keeping sprinkling vinegar until it does not fizz.
The essential oil cleaning is more effective if when wiping the surface you do not rewipe any area with the picked up surface material thus redepositing it on the surface from your cleaning cloth. Using a z pattern from side to side and dropping down before the next swipe will allow you to avoid re-contamination of the areas.
Great video! I'm using lemon and water for cleaning microwave. Just like you i'm puting water into a bowl, then adding slices of lemon and turn on the microwave for about 4 minutes. Then just scrubing the microwave with sponge. It's all fresh and clean. If there is something dirty left i dip the sponge into the lemon water and clean that again. You also can use the slices of the lemon, but be careful- they would be hot! Thank you for the freat ideas! It was really usefull for me!
Ok I love the legos! My friends boys have 5,0000 legos and I think she would love to know that trick. I use vinager on every thing! Bleach is not good for lungs and my mom clean with it and my brother get sick from the smell and with me too. Great tips!
I recommend using the same mesh bags for socks. Keep the bag beside your dirty hamper and put the socks in it and wash them and dry them in it. You shouldn't ever lose a sock agin.
I always love the effort and detail u put in your videos. Im definitely going to be apllying these. Cleaning with chemicals always leaves me wheezing bc Im asthmatic. Thanks for the video!!
I got this idea from another person on CZcams. I actually bought bottles of red wine vinegar at the Dollar Tree. I also bought three plastic bottles as well as three bottle coozies with zippers. I put the red wine into a different bottle I had for salads. I washed the glass bottles out really well, let them air dry and then put the glass bottles inside the coozies. I use Young Living's Thieves Cleaner and vinegar and another of their essential oils. I just put the top from the plastic bottle on it and close it up. The coozies keep the essential oils in the dark, the glass keeps them longer and the coozies also keep the bottles from breaking.
Love the Lego idea. Just a word about the vinegar spray cleaner. It's great, but DON'T use it on your countertops if they are granite - it causes damage. Also, I've cleaned my microwave and coffee maker with vinegar for years and you don't need nearly that much. Just a half cup of each in the microwave, and you can use a half and half dilution in the coffee maker as well - straight vinegar takes too long to rinse it all out. Love your presentation and the video quality.
Oh, the Lego tip was awesome, by the way. My mother has been doing that for years. :D A tip from her: if you don't have a mesh bag, a pillow case with a zipper works as well! ;)
as for microwave if you use oranges and lemon juice 61 slice of orange one slice of lemon two cups of water and a bow throw the orange and lemon and there and it loosens up any grease and it smells amazing
Love these tips! Also, you can steam your microwave with water alone. I do this at work because there are plenty of those who don't clean up after themselves. 😔
Rachel , awesome video! What I use for the swiffer, is a wipe I get mine at Costco or SAMs club in a big portion for a good price and just stick it on there
OH are you talking about the Kirkland brand disinfectant wipes because that's what my mom and I use with swifter instead of buying wipes specifically for swiffer
Thank you for these tips! These are amazing. For the last few years I've been trying to live much more naturally and green and part of that was due to watching your videos all these years and having you talk so much about reducing bad chemicals! This video is so awesome. PLEASE make more like this. I love learning about the things that you've tried and tested for years and just ways that you live your life more naturally because it's such an inspiration! I also have a question. After the lemon scrub on your sink do you just rinse with water and wipe it down?
This was really helpful!! Thank you so much. Definitely going to try some of these. Your videos are so well done. I hope mine can be as good as yours one day!
Im so glad you did this video because I was literally searching online for some natural cleaning hacks and products that actually work. What store bought products do you use to clean your house especially with little Oliver running around? Or do you just make all your own products? Thanks Rachel xo
Can you please make a video on how you wash out your white towels or anything white in general?? I have white towels and sheets and would love to know how to maintain them so they don't have those yellowish stains. Thanks
Great hacks! I try to steer clear of chemical cleaners when I can too. Def need to give these a try! I know in your older videos you used to give shoutouts to smaller channels, I don't know if you still do this, but just in case I thought I'd ask! I have been trying to grow my channel organically, but it is just so hard to get noticed now...I have been watching you for forever, you have been such an inspiration to me! I can tell that you love what you do, it just resonates in every video! And your quality is AMAZING! I always look forward to your vids! Do you have any fun plans/upcoming videos for thanksgiving this year? Hope you are having a fantastic week!:) Oh, and I forgot to ask, do you have any tips/tricks for the under eye area? What are the best products to really brighten dark circles and get rid of wrinkles?
I love love love the direction you have taken your channel. Still classy, but stepped up a few notches!
Agree!
When I was a preschool teacher we put all the plastic toys that had been played with in one of those mesh sacks and into the dishwasher specifically for sanitizing at the end of every day to help prevent the spread of illnesses.
+Amanda Haynes that's actually better as the temperature is higher.
did they ever melt? if not, thats such a good trick
Dani Lastname if it's like hard plastic cups, on the top rack should be ok.
Everything about you is so beautiful.. your family, your house, your voice, your mind (of course your face too haha)
That shirt looks amazing on you rachel!
Loved this video.. I'm all about diy & more natural cleaning. I knew what you meant when you said you didn't like to use chemicals.
Loved this! ❤️ Vinegar has zero disinfecting properties though. It's nice for cleaning between deep cleans but it does nothing for killing germs.
LOVE THESE!! Definitely going to be giving these a try!!! 😍
+Kait Nichole Just subscribed to your channel...It's so cute! :)
Oh no! The Legos that got left in the bag!
+Ellie Krug Also I would have separated all the Lego blocks before washing them. Some of them were still joined together before Rachel put them in the machine so not every part of every brick was washed..... but then I'm a bit too fussy! lol
Damn that's a lot of vinegar
Ikr!!
Ikr!!
+Rebecca Hill It's inexpensive
I use the microwave trick only I put like half a cup of water half cup or less of vinegar & turn on for 3 minutes & the stains easily come off.
watch your language
The sock looks like a cute little hand puppet. I kept waiting for him to talk! :-)
I did try the lemon, salt for my kitchen sink it did work great...enjoy your vlogs
I think you need to pull the lego apart so that it all get clean xp great video by the way, love how it all feel so put together and the information is always so clear
Glad to see that cleaning products from 2 and 3 generations ago are being used again. White Vinegar, baking soda, lemon and salt to name a few.
I love the turn your channel has taken, Rachel! You've really found what suits you and suits your interests! Love it.
Thanks for the hacks. I tried the lemon and salt one. It is amazing! Now I'm a total convert. Great way to reuse lemons once they're squeezed too.
This isn't really a cleaning hack but..
Ever since I was little, whenever my sister and I had blocked noses, my mum would cut an onion in half and put it in our rooms while he slept and when we woke up we were all better. Definitely recommend this :)
we* not he

I think she might have used too much vinegar.
Hi
You're starting to look like a creeper 😂 I "run into you" on every CZcams video! lol *****
I'll try that next time! Keurig also makes their own cleaner, which came with my new machine, but god knows what's in it chemically. I will try half water half vinegar next time! Thank you :) Andrea Anonymous

The salt and lemon hack does work really well! I like how natural it is and leaves such as fresh smell :) Great video!
Great job, I do the lemon and salt myself. Blessings, Stacy
The lego idea is AWESOME!!
For it to be an effective disinfectant I think there has to some sitting time where you allow it to work before wiping it away. Melissa Maker or Clean my space explains it all. Great hacks though :)
Omg I love this!!! I am going to use the lemon hack tomorrow!!🙊😍

my cleaning tips for keurigs and microwaves are "get rid of them" :)
i love your DIY's! You're one of my fave mommy youtubers
I love the sock idea!! I use it while cleaning my blinds but never thought to use while dusting or with my swiffer!
this made living in my own apartment while still in college so much easier! love this!
Hi Rachel! I've started watching your videos recently, and you've CHANGED my life
I seriously cleaned the inside of my cupboards yesterday and had to open all the windows to clear out the smell from a terrible cleaner that my partner bought. Now I need to find essential oils in Switzerland.. :) Great video Rach!

This was so awesome. Effective and short and sweet! So simple!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the lego tip! Ive just washed my children's lego 😊 so happy!!

Used dryer sheets also work well on a swifter to pick up dust and small dirt on floors!
I like the lemon idea! I tried the Keurig idea a while back and it took quite a while for it to run normally again!
Love the Lego cleaning idea 😍 my daughter put dirt all over them and I couldn't figure out a way to clean them Thank You! 😁👌
They saved my life. Thank you for sharing.
A mircofiber cloth is good to put on your swifter too... just throw it in the wash after.
Great Lego cleaning tip! Thanks! 😘
Rachel you look AMAZING!
Such a useful video, I just cleanliness.
I recommend using the same mesh bags for socks. Keep the bag beside your dirty hamper and put the socks in it and wash them and dry them in it. You shouldn't ever lose a sock agin.
The Legos one will come in handy! thank you so much. I 'm not a mom but I'man aunt, I will use this for sure .
I always love the effort and detail u put in your videos. Im definitely going to be apllying these. Cleaning with chemicals always leaves me wheezing bc Im asthmatic. Thanks for the video!!
Loved this! I will trying these today!😁
love the sock 'puppet' cleaner!!!

Great tips Rachel! I'm definitely going to try the lemon and salt scrub.
You have such a soothing voice to listen to! Love your videos!!! ❤️

Great hacks... Iam going to try these :)
Love these hacks Rachel! I've used the microwave one a few times myself.. It really works to maintain
dayyum! now i WANT to clean my room!
you can use the hot vinegar from the kuerig to clean surfaces. that is the best trick for leggos, we did this at the daycare i worked at
Oh, the Lego tip was awesome, by the way. My mother has been doing that for years. :D A tip from her: if you don't have a mesh bag, a pillow case with a zipper works as well! ;)
Even though i am not an adult i loveee your channel!!! 😘
as for microwave if you use oranges and lemon juice 61 slice of orange one slice of lemon two cups of water and a bow throw the orange and lemon and there and it loosens up any grease and it smells amazing
You could also put a microfiber cloth on your Swiffer. Each time you're done using it, throw it in the wash with your other clothes and use it again.
This is the second video of yours I've watched, I love them! Awesome channel 😊 Keep up the good work!
Love these tips! Also, you can steam your microwave with water alone. I do this at work because there are plenty of those who don't clean up after themselves. 😔
YOURE SO BEAUTIFUL OH MY GOODNESS IM OBSESSED

I absolutely LOVE these ideas! Thank you Rachel! Another amazing video, and they just keep getting better and better! ☺ XO
The salt and lemon worked like a charm!
It's sugar
+Aliy 2233816 why would you add sugar? That would make everything sticky.
Rachel , awesome video! What I use for the swiffer, is a wipe I get mine at Costco or SAMs club in a big portion for a good price and just stick it on there

I also have a question. After the lemon scrub on your sink do you just rinse with water and wipe it down?
New Subscriber I love to clean and organize. I'm always looking for new tips and tricks!
Great tips! Also cost effective and safe! What more could you want????
We always clean our keurig with vinegar and you really notice a difference :)
These are fantastic tips that I will totally try!
I really like to use a damp cloth to dust! The dust doesn't fly up and land on what I just finished dusting =)
Awesome tips. Always look forward to your videos. They are so soothing and nicely done :)
This was really helpful!! Thank you so much. Definitely going to try some of these. Your videos are so well done. I hope mine can be as good as yours one day!

You are so cute! I enjoy watching all you videos and DIYs! Keep up the good work lady.
So many amazing and helpful tips!! Thank you so much for sharing this! :) xx
Hi Rachel, new to your channel. Love this cleaning hack. I help out St a nursery, and they have lots of logos. we put them in the dish washer.xx
awesome ideas! will definitely try these out!
FYI - you are supposed to let the vinegar sit in your keurig for 24 hours so it can descale it.
Great video, Rachel! Very helpful and informative! :)
lol in so keeping all the odd sicks now :) love your videos Rachel
Great tips! I'll definitely made one of these 😃😃
I really like your channel and Oliver is so so so cute
