Here's my thing... I have a friend who is the most important person in my life. They know me better than anyone and vise versa. Our relationship isn't romantic in any sense, but we're a bit past the point of it being completely platonic. Relationships can be in between, and often the labels and language we have don't always fit. Initially, i thought nomin might fit into a similar category as me and my friend, not exactly romantic but too close to be platonic. Part of me still thinks that, that their relationship is just very intimate and deep, and it doesn't need a label. The other part recognises the romantic tones of their relationship as that, romantic. Their relationship with one another is similar to mine and my friends, but very different in the fact that they have a much more romantic feeling than my friend and I do. I'm still uncomfortable in saying anything for certain about strangers, and their relationship is truly none of my business, but you have to acknowledge at some point that 'friends' just doesn't cut it when it comes to describing them.
Sorry about the kinda rant but I feel like when ever people say 'theyre just close friends' they're just... Incorrect. I have an extremely close friend. It looks so completely different from nomins relationship that I have to laugh at the notion of them just being close friends.
In my opinion, there’s no more denying these 2 are "a thing" anymore. If you think otherwise, you have an agenda which blinds you from seeing the truth. For far too long, people have been ignoring and invalidating their behaviour and interactions. They might not be direct all the time, but I think that speaks volumes to the long-lasting friendship dynamic that has grown over the course of their lives. They don't need to prove to the cameras they're close because that really only matters between them and they'll display their affection only when they feel like it and do so when it comes naturally. Nothing is forced between them. They never outrightly say anything to us which would hint at them being together, but their body language sure does and it's incredibly loud. They constantly drop hints but because of the circumstances (both living in South Korea and being a public figure), it is neither safe for them to confirm it nor speak about their feelings. Before anyone comments or thinks I'm another delusional shipper, please actually take the time to know these boys and just know I am the biggest skeptic you'll ever meet, so know I have analysed everything with boulders of salt, yeah you heard it boulders not grains. This channel did a part 1 and part 2 which excellently captured the essence of the dynamics of their relationship since debut to now and it is a relationship that is far from platonic (in my eyes). I’m telling you, no one looks or acts like this with their quote on quote "best friend". It's funny to me that people still even look at them this way (they'll always be each other's closest friend and rock ofc) and this year most recently, they have stopped referring to themselves as besties and that says a lot. And this isn’t necessarily all our business, but people invalidating that they’re even some what close just won’t fly anymore. They have the closest bond I have ever seen between 2 male kpop idols yet people have the audacity to claim they’re merely in it for the fan service or doing it because the company asked them to. Jeno and Jaemin would never let a company get between the 8 years they have known each other and they have enough respect for one another that they would never let a company make them do things they didn't feel comfortable with themselves or reduce all the history they have down to a mere ship. They are each other’s worlds and without each other, their worlds would crumble. They clearly have so much love and adoration for one another. Even if you don’t believe there is even something remotely suspicious going on between them, respect that they are the soulmates no one else could ever be for one another. I think most people do appreciate them so much, but there are always those good for nothing haters who hate to see the love they have for one another because they think they have a chance with their bias in the slightest. Read the signs, pick up the clues and open your mind. We all know not everyone in this world is straight, so why do we always push this same notion on kpop idols. They're all humans with feelings too so let’s cut the b*** s*** and stop cultivating these heteronormative double standards. If this were a male and female kpop idol acting this way, stan twitter and its netizens would be having a field day and everyone would be saying "x and y are dating" without a shadow of a doubt. Learn to tell the difference between the affection of bffs vs bfs. Dismantle these harmful societal norms, try and see things for what they could be rather than what they could never. Anyway...
