It's weird to think Zodiac might still be alive, some old man just living a normal life somewhere.
I guess it all depends on when he was born. I has always thought he was born in the mid forties-early fifties. But it guess it's possible for him to have been born in the late thirties. That would mean he would be in his early eighties. It's possible though since older people are living longer nowadays. My grandmother is 84 and her maternal aunt lived to be 102 years old. She died 2 years ago 2 months after her birthday.

I don’t think Zodiac was just one person, but multiple people. There are 12 (13) signs in the Zodiac, so perhaps the name was meant to identify them as a collective. That’s why the handwriting and fingerprints never matched any of the suspects.

I was a kid in the Bay Area when the zodiac was running around within a few miles of our school, so when he threatened kids, the police came to our school to tell us not to walk home from school alone, to run to a neighbors house, not to play outside...etc. we were petrified. I was up watching the news early one morning when the zodiac called in. I couldn't believe it. His voice was just so weird, like he was just reciting facts. So chilling. The look on the news anchors faces. I think they couldn't really believe it either. It was a lot for a 10 year old to take in. Around that same time, there was a horrendous murder of a stanford student in the Stanford chapel. It was a hideous ritual killing on the altar. The whole thing was hushed up but it still got out and they never discovered who the killer was or what the motive was...you can Google it. The story is unbelievable.
christine paris My dad was 14 in 1969. I’m not sure if my grandpa had been stationed in Puerto Rico yet or if they were still in Sacramento. I should ask him if they were and if he has a lot if memory of this.

I'm sorry, it's really awful...my mom worked at Stanford and I used to hang out there all the time, and never heard about it when it happened, which seems so strange, but the university had massive pull with the news then, and I think they were able to keep it under wraps for awhile. I remember finally reading the details on the internet and practically choking, I went to church there a few times with friends! It just seemed insane! The fact that they never solved it was weird too. Oddly, at the same time as this and the zodiac, there was a serial rapist haunting the Berkeley campus. He was nicknamed "stinky the rapist" because he smelled so awful. My friends sister went there, and her classmate was a victim...

I just watched Zodiac last week. Yes, it's a great movie. The directing, the acting, and the cinematography are excellent.
Zodiac is an interesting movie. It is not a new movie though. It came out in 2007.
Their authenticity to the details is so insanely dedicated. Fincher and his team were respectful to those who were murdered & to the survivors (both Mike Migeau and Bryan Hartnell make cameos in the film as background extras). The acting is astounding (especially Robert Downey Jr. on his comeback streak at the time) & the mystery is the engaging akin to to a documentary. So robbed of getting Oscars in ‘07-‘08

He did say that he was at Lake Berryessa the day the two college kids were attacked and claimed his bloody knife was from killing a chicken. He did live very close to Darlene Ferrin when she was killed.Michael Migeau (sp?) did actually pick his photo out of an array,which did lead the police to want to question him again, but the heart attack made it moot, and they did find assembled pipe bombs in his basement. Doesn't actually make him Z, but he was far from a patsy. This will always be one of those things like Jack the Ripper or D.B. Cooper, where you have a bunch of theories that will never be proven.

I don’t think we’ll ever know who did these awful murders for certain, but I think that’s why it’s so fascinating to us. The theory involving potential copycats might be the best as it’s likely someone could’ve copied the MO of the Zodiac; especially with how publicized the case was by the local San Francisco papers

William Kerwin was an actor who starred in the 1968 movie 'playgirl killer' it's a Canadian serial killer movie, I found a viable suspect called William (Bill) Kerwin from one of the codes, he resided in Canada but he passed away in 2016. He's on Facebook and has a picture of himself on a ship, with a leopard, he is big built with a brunette buzz cut and classes he looks uncannily like the famous drawn efit picture, he has the nautical watch he was a canadian coast guard who served in northern california for a time in the late 60s and early 70s and played bagpipes, there are bagpipe notes in the codes. He lived near the St Johns River where a number of unsolved murders also took place between the late 70s through to the early nineties

What if the infamous D.B Cooper and the zodiac were the same person,their composite sketches look very similar and the timeline also makes sense,he hijacked the plane in the early 70s and no one ever caught him,he was obviously smarter than authorities much as the Zodiac. He probably loved the fact that he could evade capture on not one crime but two unsolved crimes that to this day have not been solved...And if he died after parachuting his ass out of the plane it would explain why there weren't any further known Zodiac murders after 1971....

Just FYI. Blue Rock Springs Park is a park in Vallejo, California. It’s not a city. The park and the roads around it nowadays are completely different than they were when the murders occurred. I grew up and still live in Vallejo. My Mom was friends with and used to ride to Hogan High School with Darlene Ferrin
in one of the early unsolved mysteries episodes, they tackled the Zodiac killer case. Ted Kazinzki (unabomber) had a house close to to one of the zodiac crime scenes.

I heard there are always about 10 to 20 serial killers operating at one time in the country. Some can stop, only to take it back up again when trigger environments are in effect. Some wander from place to place and no one can tie them together or so the killer thinks. In this day, it is very difficult to do that. Computers gave gotten very good at compiling facts.

They might have and just are awaiting the results. When they caught the Golden State Killer. It took about six months to reveal his identity. Ancestry DNA was used to catch him. It just depends if any of the Zodiac Killer's relatives have done Ancestry DNA and are willing to help out.

Fact Number 6 is already false again. Just 3 months after this video was made, the 340 Cipher was cracked this week.
you can rearrange anything and call it "cracked" the 340 was never ment to be solved it was to get the police/media/ public focusing on the new cipher and not the fact that the "cracked" cipher was obsivously "cracked" by the person who wrote it...

The theory according to which the zodiac killed far less people than he pretends to have killed and even less killings than originally thought kinda makes sense. The idea basically is that the guy read about other reported crimes and tried to claim them as his own.

Arthur Leigh Allen is in the Limelight again. He was positively identified my waitress who talked to him and Valentine Sally for over an hour and a half as they were the only ones in the restaurant she drew a sketch of the perpetrator that looks exactly like Arthur Leigh Allen and when she was shown a lineup with Arthur Leigh Allen 40 years later she said that's the man I'm 100% sure I mean I got a good look at them I thought the girl was a runaway. She died later that day and they are pretty sure the man she was with killed her and according to the waitress that was Arthur Leigh Allen.

Oh and in the end he looked EXACTLY like Richmond Arquette, who played him on screen in Fincher's 2007 movie. Good casting from David. Great choice to directly use the witness description instead of the vague 1969 drawing. They've improved identikits alot since the late 1960s.

I’m from the future, the killer is Gary Francis Poste who died in 2018, and who was a retired veteran and house painter. He would be linked to the zodiac case in October of 2021.

@@1Santosssss His birth-name fully spelled out is 18 letters. If you use the short versions of his first two names and anglicise his surname, you get 13 letters.
The case has finally been cracked.
In his letters he ensured he used alternative characters, that he hadn't already used in the body of the text, for the final characters. So that the code of the body of the letter did not automatically crack the "signature".
I'm sure the police assumed it was his name, and at least looked into it. But sadly it appears that they made an understandable mistake.
In hindsight I think he actually wanted to be caught or at least be chased, as he probably thought they were eventually going to go through the phone book and find the birth-names of all individuals listed that matched 18 characters and create a shortlist then go door to door or do visual surveillance to find which individual listed matched the killer's profile. Instead they (understandably because that's how detectives are trained) went the usual route of focusing on the crime scene evidence, following up any direct leads and canvassing for witnesses, while continuing to attempt to crack the "mysterious" final letters.
You'd think it would have been easy to figure out in hindsight, but ultimately in over 50 years they just simply didn't ever think to do something so dang simple that in hindsight would have possibly exposed him much earlier when he was alive.
Go to the phonebook, directory or any company providing a utility service, maybe even the local public library, and create a shortlist of people whose full birth names were 18 characters long.
That cross circle symbol reminds me something out of the Punisher and Bullseye Marvel characters. Same with the attire they wore. It's like they were a fan of the Marvel characters representing them in a horrific way
