I think you done a great job, this is mostly true, but it feels like you did not looked to much on how SEGA acted about a few years ago and how they are as we speak, because I noticed just how much they improved. after what happened with Rise Of Lyric. they have a much higher focus on quality now rather then quantity, Sega's CEO himself directly refered to the problem you mentioned and apologized. he admitted that over the lasy 10 or so years they focused more on scheduals rather then the game's quality and are now trying to fix that. and so far I think they stand by that. Sonic Boom Fire & Ice was originaly going to get released last year and was delayed due to them trying to improve the game's quality, not to mention the upcoming Sonic games like Sonic Mania and project 2017 which looks like what we asked for. SEGA also improved their communication with fans, the Sonic The Hedgehog's Twitter managed by Aaron Webber seem to be doing a good job at communicating between developers and the fanbase. also they seem to plan more pc ports for games in the future and correct me if i'm wrong they even hired a different company to help them with those ports. Basicly SEGA of right now seem really different and more open they ever were in the last 10 or so years so I have higher hopes for the future.

We need to tell SEGA that they are screwing themselves. We should... no we NEED to show Sega how they can fix their mistakes. First thing they should do is not rush out Sonic Mania like their other games. Second, Sega should publicly apologize for rushing the games. Third, make their own games by themselves (not hiring another company to do their work). They delayed Boom to make sure the quality check was effective. The anniversary titles are coming out the year AFTER the anniversary. The only shitty titles recently were the first two Sonic Boom games. The Mobile games should hardly even be considered since... that's all they are. Mobile games. Lost World, while wasn't good, wasn't absolute trash either. Unleashed, Colors, and Generations are praised today for the Boost formula. 06 decimated the Adventure formula, but the Adventure games, while flawed, were great titles. The series isn't dead. Never was. It's more like a basketball. It will keep bouncing up and down. The harder it's thrown down, the higher it will bounce back. At this point hate just seems to be a bandwagon, with only a few remotely legit reasons given to say it's a bad franchise (this is different from saying you personally don't enjoy the series, just to clarify).

Starting from Sonic Unleashed, Sega already proved to me that they can make a great sonic game, i've always had confidence that they can make a great game. well except for the Spin-offs but thats a different story ._.
I got to 1:50, and then I couldn't go on. I'm so fucking bored of people constantly giving the "Sega went downhill with 3D" explanation. It may be true to some people, but I'm really getting sick of EVERY Sonic video having to bring up his ups and (especially) downs in 3D. Sonic 06 was 10 years ago, and Sonic Boom was a side game, handled by a different company and thus, not a true Sonic game. They're really not relevant anymore, and I know that they are apart of Sonic's history and so on, but not every video game has a perfect track record. And with the announcement of Sonic Mania, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say Sega are going in the right direction. I'm really trying not to sound like a Sonic fanboy hahah, but with each new "analysis" of Sonic, they ALWAYS have to bring up this shit that I (as a Sonic fan) have heard several times. You can have your opinions on the blue blur, say what you want. But it's so boring hearing the "Sonic went downhill" story over and over again.

Just do your fucking research! Thisis just a summary of all the Jontron and IGN videos and clickbait articles! You had a lot of wrong information here. The SEGA CD was released in 1992 and did just do ok (no success, no great failiure) The Saturn didn't just have the problem of a rushed releasr. It had very complicated hardware. Adding the Game Gear and Pico is also unfair, because the Game Gear was a handheld and didn't compete with the stationary console and the Pico was an educational product (basef on genesis hardware btw), not competing with consoles at all. The biggest problem was money. SEGA has always had a way smaller budget that Nintendo, so every loss hurt it even more. Also, saying that SEGA is just Sonic and sucks because of that is also very one dimensional. They do other games aswell (Yakuza series, Company of Heroes, Total War) and are still active in arcades. Again, in 10 years, only 2 Sonic games were rushed. (06 and Boom). Also, colors didn't invent its gameplay and good sonic games again. All of that was in Unleashed already. Although, the last catastrophy is already 2 years ago, people still complain. Theres other companies, doing way more shit. And with shit I don't just mean unfinished games. I mean, milkimg the player's pockets, rereleasing the same game but reskinned over and over and stealing personal information. In 2015 we had a complete Sonic absence. So don't complain about shitting out bad games every year!

Also it's very narrow minded saying Sonic sucked since 1998 (which was modern sonic era). The Adventure games, Sonic heroes, Sonic Advance, Sonic Rush, Sonic pocket edition, Sonic Riders, and Sonic Unleashed sold well and were decent games. Just because you don't find it enjoyable doesn't mean it's terrible.

Even then, those two games only sold badly in comparison to previous sonic games. Some smaller companies would dream of having the sales of those Sonic Boom games, but since Sega is a big company, they considered it a financial failure. If they didn't went 3D, Sonic would've been dead back in 1999 due to Nintendo selling amazing 3D Mario games at the time. And 2nd, if you want to keep going with a famous franchise, you got to forget whatt the old audience wants and gets the new young audience to like your franchise.

a nice video honestly but there are a few things you failed to state. for one (small remark) on the title but it should be "SEGA:The Story You Never Knew" IMO. second you had not stated what sega HAS been doing recently since i think it was 2015. sega has finally realized what they are doing is wrong or well the strategy is beginning to fail if you wanna keep thinking sega is still bad. i dont think i need to bring up the games (mania and project 2017) as people have said they hold hope for the franchise and to an extent the company. I'm still watching the video and it's quite enjoyable so far. As for Jon leaving Game Grumps, he left because his fans wanted him to return to making more Jontron videos. So he left, and people thought that Jon and Arin had a fight and left, but that was not the case as they were still friends (proven with Arin being featured in one of his episodes). Although he will not be returning to game grumps anytime soon.

For what it's worth, apparently Sonic Boom Fire & Ice is actually pretty decent. Nothing amazing in terms of graphics, but from what I've seen its got the speed, is fun to play, and people enjoy their time with it. Hell, even IGN, who have gone on the record to say they hate Sonic, even they think it's a pretty fun game. I cant say till tomorrow when the game releases in AU, but from the looks of things, it seems to be worth getting if you have a 3DS.

Their game list so far for just the main series has been: Warcraft Warcraft 2 (+ expansion) Diablo Starcraft (+ expansion) Diablo 2 (+ expansion) Warcraft 3 (+ expansion) World of Warcraft (+ 6 expansions) Starcraft 2 (+ 2 expansions) Diablo 3 (+ expansion) Hearthstone Heroes of the Storm Overwatch That's a pretty decent 25 games just under Blizzard's major IPs, not to mention the other seven games they've released since 91. Doing some quick math, that means that Blizzard is pumping out about 1.52 games per year on average, to Sega's 1.48 (going off 40 Sonic games since 1989). In fact, your stats suggest that Blizzard is actually making games FASTER than Sega.

Starting from Sonic Unleashed, Sega already proved to me that they can make a great sonic game, i've always had confidence that they can make a great game. well except for the Spin-offs but thats a different story ._.
I got to 1:50, and then I couldn't go on. I'm so fucking bored of people constantly giving the "Sega went downhill with 3D" explanation. It may be true to some people, but I'm really getting sick of EVERY Sonic video having to bring up his ups and (especially) downs in 3D. Sonic 06 was 10 years ago, and Sonic Boom was a side game, handled by a different company and thus, not a true Sonic game. They're really not relevant anymore, and I know that they are apart of Sonic's history and so on, but not every video game has a perfect track record. And with the announcement of Sonic Mania, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say Sega are going in the right direction.
I'm really trying not to sound like a Sonic fanboy hahah, but with each new "analysis" of Sonic, they ALWAYS have to bring up this shit that I (as a Sonic fan) have heard several times. You can have your opinions on the blue blur, say what you want. But it's so boring hearing the "Sonic went downhill" story over and over again.

Just do your fucking research! Thisis just a summary of all the Jontron and IGN videos and clickbait articles! You had a lot of wrong information here. The SEGA CD was released in 1992 and did just do ok (no success, no great failiure) The Saturn didn't just have the problem of a rushed releasr. It had very complicated hardware. Adding the Game Gear and Pico is also unfair, because the Game Gear was a handheld and didn't compete with the stationary console and the Pico was an educational product (basef on genesis hardware btw), not competing with consoles at all. The biggest problem was money. SEGA has always had a way smaller budget that Nintendo, so every loss hurt it even more. Also, saying that SEGA is just Sonic and sucks because of that is also very one dimensional. They do other games aswell (Yakuza series, Company of Heroes, Total War) and are still active in arcades. Again, in 10 years, only 2 Sonic games were rushed. (06 and Boom). Also, colors didn't invent its gameplay and good sonic games again. All of that was in Unleashed already. Although, the last catastrophy is already 2 years ago, people still complain. Theres other companies, doing way more shit. And with shit I don't just mean unfinished games. I mean, milkimg the player's pockets, rereleasing the same game but reskinned over and over and stealing personal information. In 2015 we had a complete Sonic absence. So don't complain about shitting out bad games every year!

Also it's very narrow minded saying Sonic sucked since 1998 (which was modern sonic era). The Adventure games, Sonic heroes, Sonic Advance, Sonic Rush, Sonic pocket edition, Sonic Riders, and Sonic Unleashed sold well and were decent games. Just because you don't find it enjoyable doesn't mean it's terrible.

One person might think something is terrible while another person might think that very same thing is amazing, and neither of them would be wrong. Maybe I'm just rambling on. I just hate it when people use subjective words and treat them in objective ways, as if their opinion is fact. That doesn't mean one has to say something like "in my opinion" for it to be subjective. If one person just says "this game is terrible" and doesn't say "in my opinion", it is still their opinion. Sonic games in general sell well. The first sonic games that sold badly was Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, not counting free iPhone games. Even then, those two games only sold badly in comparison to previous sonic games. Some smaller companies would dream of having the sales of those Sonic Boom games, but since Sega is a big company, they considered it a financial failure. If anything I said about the sales is wrong point it out to me by replying to this comment.

If they didn't went 3D, Sonic would've been dead back in 1999 due to Nintendo selling amazing 3D Mario games at the time. And 2nd, if you want to keep going with a famous franchise, you got to forget whatt the old audience wants and gets the new young audience to like your franchise.
The only 2 3D sonic games that were rushed and trashed is sonic 06 and boom. Other 3d sonic games arnt bad and are fun to play.

Actually, the demise began when Sega of Japan and Sega of America started competing for the 32-bit console Era (Sega Saturn Versus the Sega 32X + CD).
Too many people trying to be the head of the company and it lead them to ruining themselves.
The actual decline? When Segata Sanshiro was no longer around to judo throw Sega's opponents so strongly that they explode twice, or take out an entire club of people in just 2-3 moves, or create mini copies of himself to ensure people played Sega until their fingers bleed. :'D

a nice video honestly but there are a few things you failed to state. for one (small remark) on the title but it should be "SEGA:The Story You Never Knew" IMO. second you had not stated what sega HAS been doing recently since i think it was 2015. sega has finally realized what they are doing is wrong or well the strategy is beginning to fail if you wanna keep thinking sega is still bad. i dont think i need to bring up the games (mania and project 2017) as people have said they hold hope for the franchise and to an extent the company. NOW Im not saying the game will be good but they have showed a sign of care and will be taking it easy which was realized after boom failed for the first time. hell boom fire and ice is good or can atleast be considered mediocre for people that dislike. it has the feel of a sonic game but it isnt just another sonic game like it was going for. honestly sega seems to be on a better path after boom wii u they are definetly not rushing their latest games rn or else mania wouldve been released and sonic 2017 would definetly be early next year possibly. and even fire and ice have been delayed. i think its safe to say there is hope for this company yet atleast.

I'm still watching the video and it's quite enjoyable so far. As for Jon leaving Game Grumps, he left because his fans wanted him to return to making more Jontron videos. So he left, and people thought that Jon and Arin had a fight and left, but that was not the case as they were still friends (proven with Arin being featured in one of his episodes). Although he will not be returning to game grumps anytime soon.
to me i don't mind what sega does,as a gamer and my pride as a gamer i will not judge a game of it's gamplay, concept art, and story, and i will not judge a company decision,so sega do what every you want, i will do my job to play, while you supply me with games to play ,so keep up the good work sega like you always been doing these years

For what it's worth, apparently Sonic Boom Fire & Ice is actually pretty decent. Nothing amazing in terms of graphics, but from what I've seen its got the speed, is fun to play, and people enjoy their time with it. Hell, even IGN, who have gone on the record to say they hate Sonic, even they think it's a pretty fun game.
I cant say till tomorrow when the game releases in AU, but from the looks of things, it seems to be worth getting if you have a 3DS.

Sonic 2017 is the one that has been in development for a few years, but it has actually bee in dev for 4 or 5 years.

That's a pretty decent 25 games just under Blizzard's major IPs, not to mention the other seven games they've released since 91. Doing some quick math, that means that Blizzard is pumping out about 1.52 games per year on average, to Sega's 1.48 (going off 40 Sonic games since 1989). In fact, your stats suggest that Blizzard is actually making games FASTER than Sega.

Nowadays, the gameplay that they finally figured out is ALL OF A SUDDEN being almost full frontally rejected by the fan base with Sonic Forces...ironically this is the same fan base that asked for them to bring it back in the first place...yeah this fan base sucks.
