Assalamu Alaykum. Greetings from Pakistan. If no have Covid19, we will visit Eastern Cape, Rep. of South Africa. Happy to know Muslim community there. ^^
From a Muslim from the Cape, thank you for this - May Allah reward you.
I'm a Malay.. This is a well known history in my culture.. Something unique about Malay ethnic from which I came from is, if you're born as a Malay automatically means you're a Muslim.. A Malay can't be a Malay without being a Muslim.. If a Malay converted to religion other than Islam it means he/she won't be recognise as a Malay anymore.. Meaning to say, when u abandoned your religion it means you've abandoned your culture because one can't be complete without the other.. It must go along together.. I love both my religion and my culture because that what makes me who I am.. I love history of our Muslim heroes.. May Allah SWT give these strong people a gift of Jannah.. InshaAllah..
Anita Rosie Ross
SubhanAllah
That is unique about Malay
this isnt unique to malay, somali culture is the same. to be somali is to be muslim
@Drew Easton Nobody cares dude :3
I know im randomly asking but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account..?
I somehow lost my password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
Salaam from Cape Town :). jazaka Allahu khairan to all my brothers and sister in Islam.
Salam from Switzerland ☺
This is beautiful and emotional video. I'm from Cape Town (South Africa) and my father has always shared stories about the our rich heritage, the struggles and it's legacy. Fully appreciate this video. May Allah reward you abundantly for sharing our story.
Did you know this series was researched , written and presented by historian Dr Abdullah Hakim Quick? A convert to Islam.
No doubt nowadays reverts have much more stronger Imaan than born Muslims like me.
That makes a lot of sense. May Allah have mercy on him and us.
I am a malaysian who have been to Tidore an island in indonesia maluku. There I went to a mosque where the locals told me that hundred year ago one great imam were exile by the dutch to cape town. The imam then helped to promote islam there.
I'm one of the descendants of the Muslims of the Cape and all the Muslims of the Cape are still in the same place today. The ruling party is trying to get the Cape Malays out of their cultural area through gentrification... So sad.
You guys are descendants of mostly fighters... Just be strong and resist. Love from Malaysia.
shaheen Matthews you are a israelite
I am from Cape town. Coloured. This was the first time hearing such a well detailed explanation on our history, as we dont get taught ths in school. it usually gets passed down generation to generation through stories. masha allah i felt very proud being a Cape Townian muslim.
Salam from Malaysia....... semoga dipermudahkan segala urusan olehNya buat seluruh muslim di cape town.. alhamdulillah
I'm proud Malay Muslim from Malaysia our ancestors defending Islam in this region more than 500 years we fought the Portuguese the Dutch the British the Japanese and Communist to the end
Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi ta'ala wa barakatuh dear brothers and sisters from all around the world. Proud to be Malay from Cape Town. We ask Allah Azza Wajal to guide us to be of those who walk in the footsteps of our ancestors, many who sacrificed their wealth and their lives in the services of Allah's Deen, defending haq and fighting oppression. Allahumma Ameen Ya Rabb Al Alameen. Alhamdulillah for the ni'mah of Islam for it is the best ni'mah 🤲🏽 The struggle continues...
For anyone wondering, the lecturer is Abdullah Hakim Quick. I believe he is from Toronto, Canada. I've enjoyed his lectures for years now. Very common to find him speaking about historical topics and figures as well as cultural beliefs and traditions. Very knowledgeable and admirable brother. May Allah bless him with Jannah!
thanks for that.. I thought it was Dr.bilal phillips
My favourite historian. Had a pleasure of meeting him and his family during his tenure in SA.
i'm indonesian, :D Subhanalloh.... May Allah grant us jannah
+Irwan Suwandi And I'm Malaysian... this is a new info for me

@@musician14th is this not part of ur Malaysian /Indonesian history ? Is this not taught in ur schools ? I'm shocked nd surprise to hear that Malaysia nd Indonesia have forgotten their past history. It's really sad .

salaam brothers and sister's from Australia... As a Cape colored its wonderful to learn the history of my ancestors.
@Mickey Mouse wow thanks for that very detailed response. Are you still in SA?
@Mickey Mouse lol im sure the new PM will be as useless as the last .... they are all self-serving Wayne kers 🙂
@Mickey Mouse well we got rid of that government lol let's see what the new one will get up to. Unfortunately we Muslims are victims of our own circumstances. Who knows i might even be related to you lol
Hey I'm from Cape Town too ! Awesome to hear about this untold truth
Wow, SubhanAllah. Hung on to every word and even brought tears to my eyes. So grateful and thankful to our forefathers for bringing Islam to the Cape. Alhamdulilah for being muslim. Jazakallah to the narrator for eloquently explaining history I never knew even though I'm from here. Salaams from Cape Town 🇿🇦
I couldn't resist to drop a tear or two by the end of the video. MashaAllah this is the beauty out of those oppression stories.. May Allah reward those who deliver His religion across the world despite the aggression & oppression at the time being. لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله. Terima kasih.
I'm in Cape Town and there's a lot of information in here I never knew. Jazaakallaah khayran. Sad thing about this is, the things done at the grave sites / shrines of these people that brought their version of Islaam is appalling and contrary to the Islamic Teachings of what Muhammad Salallaahu alayki Wasallam brought.
Indeed, sheihk Yusuf would not be happy to know what they are doing to his and other peoples gaves as on present. Hence, we have to inform the Catonians of this.
But those are no ordinary grace sights brother. I never had opportunity to visit them but I heard much about it. Also you should know that cape town receives many blessings through those grave sights. Many miraculous things happen on account of those grave sights. They are the resting places of sufi sheikhs.
My mother told me that the white goevernment had such a healthy respect for the muslim people that they promised they would never break down those grave sights. Many strange sightings were made in that vicinity.
The problem with visiting grave sights, it appears to me is that people don't know the adhab of it. So far I have only seen the sufi's teach the adhab of the grave. They teach it bbecause they visit the graves a lot. It's very easy for unsuspecting muslims to fall into grave worship but sufi's know how to avoid it and are constantly teaching others. So if you want to know how to behave around a grave ask a sufi, then you can teach others. It's actually very simple once you know how.
Azeez Micheals sheikh Yusuf that is spoke about in this video was actually a student of a Sufi do the research about the life of sheikh Yusuf
zipo dipo..don't asking miracle from grave..that's shirk
The sheikh did not cross the barzakh and some people can see him and interact with him dont call things shirk that you aren't educated on properly
Masha Allah...thx you so much for this vid..I am Indonesian but i never know about sheikh Yusuf of Makassar (Sheikh Yusuf dari Makassar) may Allah (SWT) grant us more knowledge for Jannah..
Islamic histories are beautiful masha Allah...from East Africa.
Asalam Aleikum.
Love to all from cape town. Alhamdulillah wa shukru lillah. May Allah Grant our forefathers the highest place in jannah for their efforts and struggles and Grant Islam to grow and prosper in our beautiful city 🌻
Please my Muslim brothers and sisters share these video's we need to spread the true importance of Islam! Islam is Allah's (S.W.A) gift to humanity and we have such a rich history. Please share these videos they are so important!
May Allah grant us knowledge of the Deen! ❤🙌

May Allah bless Cape Town & South Africa with the Great Religion of Islam.
Intesresting documentary - thank you. Im not sure if you are aware, but the connection with Eastern lands like Malaysia etc. are also shown in traditional South African food - Bobotie is a (delicious) dish of curry mince with raisins in, served with rice - seemingly a mix of Eastern and European foods. There are some words in Afrikaans that are derived from Malay words - "baie" (meaning a lot or very) is apparently from "bangja" and our word for banana "piesang" is also from the Eastern derivation. These words differ from the Dutch words (Dutch is seen as the parent language of Afrikaans). The first known written Afrikaans was also written in Arabic script - a testament to influence of Muslim scholars and the blending of cultures and languages. Peace and Salaam
Subhanallah, I'm an Indonesian myself just realized how the story was put-up together, Sheik Yusuf of Makassar. Will dig his story further as the wife came from Makassar, too.
Masha Allah informative series showing d struggle of Muslims and d way islam spread throughout d world.good work.keep going.

Love u merciful servant... appreciating your efforts...
May All Mighty Allah give u the strength to do more & more In Sha Allah....
What a great educational video. This should be written in our history books. Islam is by far the most powerful religion 👏 Alghamdullilah
We are separated, my brothers and sisters in Islam. But the time of unity is coming, soon we will not refer ourselves by our race, language or country. There will be a day where if anyone asked us who we are, we will all say in one voice, "We are Muslims".
Yes, I can see big smile on the faces of my brothers from Cape Town. 😁🤣♥️
We ask Allah to grant you success in this world and the hereafter and to make us from the people of Paradise
Peace from Mecca , SA 🇸🇦🕋♥️

thanks for this right now on my iPad i am doing the beautiful quranic recitation for al baqarah
I'm Malaysian and proud ... alhamdulillah
☝
Tak ada yang tertutup pun. Anda semua sudah membaca buku-buku terbitan Khazanah Fataniyyah Malaysia? Almarhum Ustaz Wan Saghir banyak menulis tentang ulama-ulama Nusantara. Tak tepermanai banyaknya ulama-ulama.

Read the biography of Omar bin Abdulaziz by Libyan Historian, "Dr Ali Muhammad Assallabi". I've read it and found the history of North Africa
Nowadays, the original malays of south east asia is having a problem where our enemy is planning to separate us from islam. We are far away from quran and teachings of islam. Please pray for us to be steadfast with this deen. Malaysia and Indonesia need your dua. Allah help us 🤲🏾

Shaikh Yussuf al-Makassari also known Tajul Khalwati was a learned ulema who was initiated by his teacher Shaikh Ibrahim al-Kurani in Mecca in Shattariyyah Sufi Order. He was also initiated in Khalwatiyah Sufi Order (the Turkish called it Helveti Tarikat) by Shaikh Abu Barakat Ayyub Bin Ahmad al-Khalwati an Imam in the Masjid of Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi in Damascus.
This is a great proof that the tasawwuf or sufism is one of the vital subject that need to be learn by every Muslims and it's not a bidaah. It's the true energy that drives the struggles of the early Cape Muslims.
i dont know why my eye is glass in cry when looking this. there must be something in deep of my heart
