@@JohnJohnson-mo4bn Hardly. This is literally one of the most basic minor key chord progressions there is. The vocal melody is a little similar at times but not nearly enough to call it plagiarism.

Amazing to see how time has passed.
When this song came out I was 10 years old, and I remember that I loved rock and bands like Pearl Jam, The Verbe, Soundgarden, Marilyn Manson, among others. Now I am 31 years old, I still love rock and I still love this song. Now I have a 9 year old daughter who enjoys the same music as me, and who will continue with the legacy of the old and new classic rock with her children.

In the last couple weeks I've been playing this song a lot. I've probably heard five or six different versions of this from the band. A great song doesn't need all the production to be a great song, and this is definitely a great arrangement and performance.
Another fantastic recording.. I don't think I've seen a lesser version of this song. Even after all these years they are still on point.

Gretsch Renown 57 4 piece drum set in motor city blue with the factory "Gretsch" branded bass drum head. The unused fifth drum can be seen glowing bright blue in some shots of the video, way off to the left side of the screen in the wide shots and over Tony's right shoulder in some closeup shots of him. I own that same drum set. The snare cracking away sounds great in this video, and that's about the only thing from that drumset you can hear. In the original video of this song the drummer plays with exaggerated dancy body movements that he got either from Gene Krupa or the drummer from "The Ventures." In this video he has abandoned that schtick.

Never been a great band live, definitely had some good studio people to make them sound good
Same could be said for most any band. Put 83 takes, $500k of equipment, a producer, an engineer, 6 computers, a vocal coach, 200 punch ins, 72 tracks, and a few suits and anyone is going to sound better. But they sound great in this video made 20 years later when they are no longer at their youthful peak, so your comment is garbage.
