    I love my P-39. It looks weird on the ground, but beautiful in the sky, flies so good. I used a little bit of oil to work the screws in and clean the threads so I can now screw and remove the wing with little effort. Makes storing easy.

    Hey Brian, I just turned 60 and have decided to get back into the hobby, as a young teenager (way before your time) I used to fly the tethered airplanes with the 049 gas engines (no electric back then) I am amazed at the technology and the quality of the airplanes that are available now. I have the 1.1 Aero Scout as my first plane to learn on and making a list of the ones I want to collect based on your very informative reviews.. Long story short I have really enjoyed your channel and the video’s. They have been so helpful and informative. Keep making the long ones they have really helped this old guy try to catch up on everything. Thanks so much for your time and effort, Wishing you and your family a happy and prosperous New Year!

      Thanks Craig for seeing the value in what we do here! We appreciate your situation as the hobby has changes a lot since the early 2000's when I was into RC cars a lot. I love sharing about our experiences, and hope to help you get back in the fold soon!
      As for control line flying, I might have tried as a kid in a vein attempt to get my RC fix when RC planes weren't possible at that time. It's AMAZING the tech that's squeezed into these planes now-a-days, and even more amazing that our government wants to regulate our hobby - quite disgusting if you ask me. Maybe they should figure out how to balance a budget, before they tell me where to fly my coffee cups - LOL ;)
      So glad you're with us Craig, and hope you'll be around for the long haul!

      @@BrianPhillipsRC of all things I hit a bird with my P-39, and knocked the canopy off and can't find it. Do you know where I could find another one, all parts are back ordered. I was hoping I could find somebody that's crashed theirs.

    Brian I ran my battery straps longways and connected together. This avoids the rubbing on the sides with the larger packs and works like a dream.

    Merry Christmas to the Phillips family from mine, really enjoyed your content in 2020, best so far. So you make long videos, I like them, I've learned if the ESCs come in a bag, the camera crew gets really excited. For the other viewers, last I heard Google doesn't send any secret police to folks houses (yet) for not watching the whole episode. Cut the man some slack, he is the one investing his time and energy into making the content, free of charge. And the Airacobra had a 37mm cannon mounted in the traditional spot for an engine. So that large hole in the nosecone allows the lead hammer to share some love. Happy flying!!!

    Hi Brian And Camera crew. Yes the P 39 was a mid engine plane and it is a cannon that comes out the nose cone.The propeller shaft went between the pilot's feet to front of the plane. The propeller was gear drivin because the cannon went through the center of the propeller. Thanks for all your videos they have been a lot of help. Hope you have a Happy New Year.

    Oh I nearly forgot, your explanation with the transmitter reminded me, I'm using safe select on a dxe-a transmitter using flaps and gear while also having 3 flight modes. It works very well

    Nice well rounded and in depth review ! The tip on the spinner is meant to mimic a 37mm cannon on the full scale bird as you suspected it was a gun of some sort and yes it is a mid engine design. The prop is driven by a geared drive shaft that ran under the cockpit. This is how they were able to stick a cannon in the center of the spinner. Thanks for the video !

      I heard this a while back after we filmed. Talk about balls of steel, to sit with that prop shaft spinning just inches away from your manhood - CRAZY! I guess the tradeoff is 1.5" bullets flinging out in a perfectly straight line!

    I didn’t trust the battery tray so I got rid of it. Just use hook and loop. Never had the magnetic hatch come off. Running 2200 60c zippy compact and 55cc CHL. Plane comes in hot so flaps are necessary. Grease or flare the landing and I’ve never replaced or bent back the landing gear (I fly on packed dirt runway). Definitely recommend.
    Bring the plane out to the field everytime. Best upgrade from a t28 1.1m or 1.2m.

    Great review. Just acquired this plane less the receiver with safe. Have not flown it yet but I have a spektrum 2200 30 3s battery I planned on using to try first. I like how it flew on your 3s pack.

    After only have flown the umx timber, I got this plane. Easy but also scary to fly with safe with the limited expirience I have. Now im looking for a third plane that i can be more comfortable and have fun with.
    I aslo had to do the exact same thing with the elevator on my p-39!

      Have you considered the Apprentice 1.5m STS? It's a GREAT plane to fly, very low stress, and still tri-cycle gear.

    One of my favorite planes, does grate in the grass at first I was worried about the nose gear in grass. But have not had problems yet.

    Owned mine a few months now, all I can say is the front landing gear doesn’t like it when you get it wrong on grass too many times... lol 😆 great flying 👌👍 and the battery tray on mine was rubbish, the plastic retaining clip was bent and I only noticed when I snapped it trying to push a battery in. To replace this is a whole new fuselage, or what I did was velcro and burned the fluffy side a bit so it wasn’t as grabby and could pull out again without taking the hook side off the plane every time. Ideally should have put a carbon spar in it so we could use a strap not these faffy trays. 👍

      I think the battery could just get rammed in there with the right foam "wedge" to keep it in there. I've had good experience with this in the past. I just kinda wish the tray slides were easier to align. If you ram it in the wrong spot, she'll sequel and never let you put it in again....

      @@BrianPhillipsRC it was after writing the post firstly I noticed you to had the same problems as me with the straps on the battery. I’m pretty sure in hindsight, it was because I’d got a 3300 battery on it and the Velcro didn’t fit round it well, that’s what’ll have broken the little 1mm wide piece of plastic that acts as a clip for the tray. I really do love the eflite planes, I’ll say that first. However... it seems they’re getting too complicated for simple things. We don’t need them to reinvent the wheel, we just need planes that’ll survive a bit of use.

    For the 4s 3200, I just got a spare tray, put a piece of foamboard with velcro to lift the battery above the rails

    I had issues with the cg also where the plane was just a little nose heavy. Love the plane I scooted the battery tray back just a hair and fastended it.

      I could do that, but I LOVE the way it flies with 2200mAh 4S 30C pack perfectly centered in the tray. I fully believe there may have been a slight miscalculation, OR I administered the marks in the wrong place (probably the later)

      I had sort of the same issue. 2200 4s was way tail heavy, I adjusted the elevator clevis to give it more down, second flight I ran out of up trim. Now it doesn't matter where it hangs it'll fly light regardless. I love it

      The F4U 1.2m Corsair doesn't have SAFE select, but I have a video about that plane too... check my playlists ;)

    I have flown mine on both 3s 3200 and 4s 3200 Smart batteries and get about 7 minutes of mixed throttle. Neither battery is all the forward, about 1 inch back. With full flaps it lands butter smooth.

      I think the bigger packs make the nose come down a bit too hard. 6-7 minutes of flight time is about right, in my opinion, but the CG marked in the manual has gotta be off???

      My CG is at 52mm. A well experienced pilot tested mine and we moved it back a couple times until we got to the 52mm spot. Lands light on the front. Like butter!

I told him I'm sure you do them but do not want them in the content of every review you do because it would take too much video time. Perhaps .     Brian, Im using a Spektrum S2100 charger to charge a G2 4S and 6S battery. The charger shows a full charge but when I use the Spektrum battery checker, they read only about 95%. Any ideas??? They are all up to date.

      I have seen this too, but not sure what to do. I wonder if it's a firmware issue. Mine are more like 99% or 98% after being reported as 100%.

      A little heads up guys be careful when charging your batteries and like they said do not leave them alone while charging them batteries are real powerful batteries and could do some damage to your facility

    brain, i am having terrible trouble with getting safe to go to as3x on switch b. i followed the exact instructions and my nx6 only gives me safe select on switch b no matter what position. what is wrong? is the receiver defective, it is a 637b sport model.

      Okay, you're not the only one to have this issue. I have a whole standard list I'll share but ONE more trick at the beginning...
      POWER OFF THE PLANE AND RADIO, then power back on, then do this...
      You CAN, and will after you follow these steps - I've had this comment from probably 50 or more, just as adamant as you, and they got theirs working ;)
      Step 1) Make sure you're BOUND with SAFE SELECT ON. If you're NOT 100% sure - DO IT AGAIN, and make sure the surfaces "Dance" through the mix TWICE at power up...NOT ONCE...Once means you're in AS3X only mode.
      Step 2) Go to MONITOR MODE, and watch the switch change the condition of the channel you THINK is assigned to the SWITCH YOU WANT TO USE - If it doesn't change state, go to System Setup and make the Channel Assignment to that switch. Now exit the menu and verify the changes took in Monitor Mode.
      Step 3) Now that you're 100% sure you're BOUND in SAFE Select, and you have an operational switch for channel (I think 5-8) assigned, go ahead and pull both sticks DOWN and IN, and then toggle the switch to a count to 10 (NOT 5)....most people don't count a FULL CYCLE of the switch...so they never get to 5 full back and forth cycles... On step 9 of 10, you'll see the surfaces twitch, and on 10 of 10 they'll "recenter" again.
      Here's PROBABLY what you're doing wrong...it's a super easy mistake to make, and you'll immediately get it if you are doing this wrong...
      Switch Up to Switch Down = 1
      Switch Down to Switch Up = 2
      Switch Up to Switch Down = 3
      Switch Down to Switch Up = 4
      Switch Up to Switch Down = 5
      Switch Down to Switch Up = 6
      Switch Up to Switch Down = 7
      Switch Down to Switch Up = 8
      Switch Up to Switch Down = 9
      Switch Down to Switch Up = 10
      When Horizon Hobby wrote those instructions they said 5 times, so this is what they meant, but it's confusing if not elaborated upon...
      Switch Up to Switch Down = 0
      Switch Down to Switch Up = 1
      Switch Up to Switch Down = 1
      Switch Down to Switch Up = 2
      Switch Up to Switch Down = 2
      Switch Down to Switch Up = 3
      Switch Up to Switch Down = 3
      Switch Down to Switch Up = 4
      Switch Up to Switch Down = 4
      Switch Down to Switch Up = 5
      ...pretty confusing, right??!?!?
      Step 4) The ONLY issue that might prevent this all from working is that your sticks are WAY out of calibration... if so, the Tx might not realize you're in the Lower Left or Lower Right position, thus preventing the designation when you hit flip 10... so if this ends up being the case, which I highly doubt, then you need to calibrate your sticks and then follow back from step 2 maybe.
      Good luck - you can do it!

      @@BrianPhillipsRC unfortunately it does not work for me , i calibrated the sticks , perform the monitor, ch assign is okay, everything looks right. i cannot get safe off, so that means i rip the damn receiver out and put a new one. the 630 works for me. regards

    Hey Brian, I could use a little advice. I ended up buying one of these off your link. It arrived today and still sits in the box. OK, if this was your plane and you only had a 6 channel radio (and needed SAFE SELECT) would you:
    A. Run the flaps and landing gear off the same channel and deal with the down falls
    B. Not run flaps at all
    C. Leave it in the box until you could get another radio with more channels?
    I'm a few months out if not longer before I can upgrade the radio. I want one of the new NX8's but I have blown my RC budget for a couple of months.
    Funny thing, I also ordered a Dynam BF-110 too and they both arrived today. The quality difference is amazing :^)

      I would DEFINITELY run it with SAFE Select OFF. Bind the "AS3X" only way, until you can control it. OR if you're 100% safe, you can do that too, and never make the ASSIGNMENT, and it'll be on all the time - "until you get a 7 channel radio ;) "
      Good luck with your decision. Sharing channels is NOT fun.

      I would buy it if you want it. It's a great flying plane, but the tri-cycle are a bit TALL. I think the P-39 is just not super popular, so it wasn't selling well...

    All due respect Brian...I own a lot of planes running on everything from 2s to 12s. Scale, 3D, and EDF's. Granted...I don't own as many planes as you...lol. That said...I own around 60 Lipos and mine never puff and last a long time. None of them are the smart packs. "Babysitting" packs is one way to put it...taking proper, safe care of ones Lipos is another way to put it. Not that the smart tech isn't great, but its also great to have patience, experience and knowledge of taking proper care of ANY Lipo...much the same way its fine to use AS3X or other gyros, but its also good to develop the flying/set up skills not to if necessary.
    As for battery care...I always have work to do in my shop/hangar...so there is always time to charge right before (or maybe the night before) a flying session and time to storage charge after. There are many other caveats to lipo care that I won't get in to, but bottom line...I take the time. The smart packs are great, but they are a mass produced electronic...so they (the safety part) could possibly fail. I would pay attention to them as well and see to the care/condition/safety myself. They are also very expensive as you said, and as an example I just purchased 8 (yep...8) 6000mah 6s packs to give me 4 sets (2 in series to make 12s) for my 85" Extreme Flight Edge 540Tx. I fly it at a few places without a power source so no charging there. When you are using packs like that in that large a number cost becomes a factor for sure. I have several 12s and 8s planes so I look for the best bang for the buck.
    To me...and this is just my opinion (37 years in the hobby if that counts) ...Lipo handling/safety is simply just another necessary modeling skill...like set up or flying skill...that every modeler should have. I'm not saying you are careless, but some folks are...I've seen Lipo issues like wearing them out fast due to improper use/care all the way up to a guy burning his office down. They all have one thing in common. They were all in a hurry and didn't/don't take the time to properly use/care for their Lipos. You reach a lot of people with your videos and a lot of them probably take your advise. My advise to modelers would be more along the lines of "The smart packs are awesome and have great telemetry features or if you forget to storage chare on occasion, but NO Lipo...not even the smart packs...alleviates a modeler from the responsibility to check, care for, and see to the safety of them."
    The nice thing about having "Lipo skills" is that if a person chooses to give up the telemetry capability...you can get the same flying performance (power wise) and just as many (or REALLY close) to the same number of charges and discharges...and the same degree of safety with packs that cost half what the more expensive packs (like smart) cost. Nice to have that option. You said you haven't ever discharged (storage charge I assume) a battery. My guess...that is why you haven't had good luck with other batteries. One of the easiest ways to puff one up. I got some bad advise when I first started with electrics and puffed a bunch of them up...since I've been diligent and doing it properly...haven't puffed one since, and I get a lot of charges and discharges...and I log my flights and battery use...so I actually know exactly what I'm getting out of them.
    Good video...I enjoy your stuff...very entertaining. Oh and your wife is awesome. Oh and just for your info...FMS manufactures the E flite stuff for Horizion...in China. But...the manuals are written in the US by HH .

      FYI, with 37 years in the hobby, you've had my entire lifetime to learn what I've packed into the last 6 years. I'd be a fool to disregard your wisdom and experience. For the record, I don't, even if we would occasionally have a difference of opinion. This is part of the reason why I don't care for clubs. I don't want to hear 10 opinions, I want facts from which to build my own. I've also found that when I show up to clubs, the guys are all arguing about stupid crap, and I want to be FLYING. Finding good advice in this hobby can be hard when you're learning all the cutting edge technology, and applying it to centuries old science and skill.
      No need to guess about what I've admitted too and elaborated on extensively. I have shared all my weak excuses for and reasons why my old "dumb" lipos prematurely failed. Most of the failures were my fault, but some were not.
      SMART takes much of the guess work out for the average working guy doing the hobby. Proper care of lipos is a skill just like checking the oil in a car, but most cars won't catch on fire and burn down a building when the operator fails to check the engine oil. So, I also agree there is a skill in care and management of lipos...or at least learned policy. It's all about risk management. Everyone gets to take whatever risk they're comfortable with, but I realize some will have different tolerance for this risk. Some people are just reckless, and others are ignorant. I would put myself in the "normal" level of risk tolerance. I suspect you'd be in the slightly less willing to accept risk category, but that comes from having time to take additional precaution. Good for you for being extra careful.
      My issue is that our special circumstances make it almost impossible to know a "day in advance" we'll be flying. Some times that's no problem at all, but most of the time I'm lucky to have a couple hours warning, so to have SMART packs ready to go, and if not, ready to charge at 20+ amps rate (coming very soon, BTW - stay tuned for that) it's a God sent. When you get to about 350-400 lipos, you can't hardly keep up.
      I liken your comments to that of a grandparent VS a parent. I think you forget what's it's like to be this busy...burning both ends of the candle! We have 4 children, then I'm a full time (50-60 hours a week) employee, then I'm a CZcamsr (another 30-50 hour per week or more) and a Hay Producer, which is thankfully only seasonal, but then I'm also responsible for the care of our acreage. I'll let you do the math on where my time goes. I don't think you're aware of the amount of time I am spending to "babysitting" this channel, and I know what you're thinking...That doesn't relieve me of my responsibility to take care of my lipos...yeah, Duh...but can you see how amazing these SMART packs are for someone like me?!?!
      Not sure if I answered all your concerns, but I think I need to move on to the rest of the 900 comments waiting for me...

      I'll touch on a few things...first I am not a retired elderly man...lol. I started young in the hobby. I'm 52, work a full time job, and have a host of other life responsibilities outside of model aviation. While I appreciate how busy you are...God bless you bro...I must say though it sure sounds like if you have time to do multiple 2 to 4 hour videos most weeks for a youtube channel...you have time to properly use every recommended precaution with your Lipos. If you don't my guess is that is because that is your choice...not your only option because of time constraints.
      As far as risk assessment/willingness is concerned...I come from a full scale flying background and I'm also a former firearms instructor. So I'm used to checklists, logs, and doing things that can bite you hard...as in dead...if you don't do it right. And what is "right/correct" isn't negotiable. There is the way to do it as safe as can be, and there is everything else...which to varying degrees is irresponsible and dangerous. I put Lipo care in that category. We know the science, what the gel is made of and why it can be so volatile. We know (at the recommendation of all manufacturers) exactly every step we can take to safely store, use, charge, discharge, and care for them to keep them as stable as possible. Anything else can lead to a possible fire that can cost people everything including their life. Point of note...not trying to scare the hell out of anyone...I truly believe that like a firearm...a lipo is harmless until someone mishandles it. So they can be perfectly safe if its done right.
      Brian you may do everything you can to monitor and be safe with your lipos, but it doesn't sound like it to hear what you say in your videos about them sometimes. You are right...we can all choose the amount of risk we take, but while you may not want advise from guys at your local club...you sure do give a lot of advise on your channel. My only point is simply be careful what advise you give. If its a matter of opinion topic like a plane set up or building technique fire away man...good on ya. If its something by which a standard is set...with conclusive science and lessons from a history of others misuse...do what you want, but you may want to tell people to do it the complete, right way strictly from a liability standpoint. You may have not meant it this way, but it sounds like your recommendation is buy the smart stuff, put your brain in neutral about them, and trust they will always take care of themselves. They may, or if something shorts out or fails in some way...they may not.
      Heck man...I will hover a $2000 3D plane 3 inches from the ground and lightly scrape the top of the rudder in an inverted harrier, but I don't advise anyone else to do that...lol.
      I hope you don't take any offense to this...I truly mean to help you, and help you help others in the future...that is the whole point of this my friend. Happy flying.

      Different, from what I understand. FMS planes are not the same, in that they don't use the Spektrum, Hobbyzone, Eflite, electronics, typically...but they are still good planes ;)
      Some planes HAVE been adapted from FMS to Eflite, but in my personal opinion, if it's branded as an Eflite - it's in the upper echelon of BNF

      Yes you need a high wing trainer if your new to flying and just starting out. Look at the eflite apprentice Ready to fly. Everything you need. You DO NOT want to start with a warbird of any kind. Even a “warbird trainer”

      Jeff, you are basically correct, but even the Habu STS is so easy, it might as well be a high wing trainer...but it's obviously NOT a war bird.
      HOWEVER, keep an eye out first week of Jan, and you might be surprised what POP's up on my channel ;) :) :)

    What does the as3x do when it activates at throttle? Isn it the same as safe.....it moves when you twist the plane, what would as3x more do if we would see it with throttle when you twist it

      AS3X is basically STABILIZATION.
      SAFE is basically STABILIZATION, AUTO-LEVEING, and LIMITED BANK ANGLES.
      AS3X is activated at 25% throttle, and stay on for the duration of the power to the Rx. If you unplug the Rx it will be off until the next power up + 25% throttle position.
      SAFE and AS3X are not the same thing. SAFE runs ON AS3X.
      AS3X - Artificial Stabilization Three Axis
      SAFE - Sensor Aided Flight Envelope

      Thx a lot. i got it now...i am thinking of getting it for my first warbird ...but i love the corsair (1200 mm) too much so i cant decide, but i think this one will be the better flying "beginner" warbird
      I am afraid of my first wbird because i only flew the little p51 eachine and now the volantex v2, but i crashed it on the maiden flight. Every start it turns left with nose down and i am sure its not my fault. I think something with the gyro is wrong (a3 pro). Before planes i startet the hobby with the ec145 xk heli. I was interested in planes too so i started with the p51 and now the v2.....

    Hey Brian, I've been looking at this one for awhile. I'm really torn between this one and the FMS P-51D Red Tail V8 PNP, 1450mm. I love the looks of both. Both will fit in the car and I have a large wide open area at our club. I'm just a tad beyond "beginner" and I'm ready for a warbird. Any thoughts?

      this would definetly be easier to take off and land. the p51 with high torque and tail dragger can be really tough to take off. i would start with this and if it lasts long enough graduate to the p51

      Terry, any of the 1.2m Eflite warbirds are going to be a better pick for several reasons. (see my remarks below on my purchase list excerpt too)
      1) They're cheaper, plane and required batteries too
      2) They're a LOT SMALLER - Easier to store and transport
      4) When you have a bigger size, for example 1.5m (1.45m) they get heavier and require bigger and more expensive batteries and a LOT more room to land and take off successfully.
      5) They come with AS3X and/or SAFE (The newer ones like this have SAFE Select...I think the F4U Corsair still only has AS3X)
      6) When you have issues and end up with bad crashes, the little ones seem to do better with bumps and bruises...the big ones are done for, generally, in my experience.
      7) WAY bigger when you hit something, like an RC Pavilion or CAR - you will MESS IT UP. Hope fully the cows and sheep get out of the way - LOL
      A few advantages you may not be thinking about with the BIGGER ones...
      1) They'll handle grass BETTER, but not like the 1.2m series won't - they WILL.
      2) They're more beautiful, but they will get beat up more in transport...
      3) The additional retractable tail wheel (when equipped) is SWEEET, but you won't even see it in flight most of the time
      4) Bigger are SLIGHTLY more resistant to some wind impact, if you're not equipped with AS3X, but they will get away from you just as fast as a small one with AS3X if you make a fatal maneuver.
      Considering all these off the cuff details, I can ASSURE you you will enjoy the 1.2m overall experience MORE given your current stage of advancement in the RC addiction. PLEASE take my word for it, but if you don't, I'll be here to congratulate you for being the exception to the rule, if you defy all odds and have a great experience ;)
      P.S. Don't know if you're realizing this, but a 1.2m P-51D is about 1/2 the size of the FMS you're looking at. It's pretty incredible the difference. Don't just look at the wingspan...look at the side and shape of the fuse and everything - BIG difference. Bigger doesn't mean better, especially as a novice.

      1 Aeroscout 1.1s (great first plane and still fun to fly)
      2 Arrows Bigfoot (super fun)
      3 FMS Fox 2.3 (flies on rails)
      4 Freewing A-10 (hate it)
      5 Conscendo Evolution (late Christmas gift. Haven't flown it yet.)
      6 Dynam BF-110 (ordered but not received. I know it's a project plane but I love the strange looks.)
      7 FMS MOA (fun plane!)
      I will wait until next week before I buy anything. This will be my last plane until spring and I want to see your upcoming mystery plane next week before I buy. 😉 Thank you for your reply.

    on the higher MAH 4s packs you ran how many amps was the esc drawing?

      I replaced my stock esc with an 80a as 4s power was drawing 65-70a. I don't recommend using the 40a esc stock for 4s.

      @@tyfude you can use 4S on this setup but I would not run wide open the whole flight if you do then change the esc to at least a 60amp. You can also change prop size to lower the amp draw and keep the power.

      Horizon Hobby says 3S or 4S. If it bursts into flames, easy-peasy, I'll drop them a line and tell them what I was doing with it and they'll send me a new ESC. That's why I love dealing with Horizon Hobby. They actually back up their planes!!!
      As for replacing the ESC - go for it if that's your plan, don't let me stop you ;)

      @@BrianPhillipsRC true. HH helped me out every time I needed it. To your point the stock esc never actually had a problem on 4s, just when I load tested it out of curiosity, saw the 65a draw and switched the esc out to be on the safe side. Beside the point though, this plane is a ton of fun and a daily driver. I hope it’s not discontinued.

    Great flying plane but the front nose gear didn’t hold up for more than 10 flights off grass and I land pretty much perfect every time.

    Various planes flown by the same pilot in roughly same conditions gives us a VERY FAIR COMPARISON b/w different RC planes on market. Having watched nearly all your flight footage (a normal hobby enthusiast - not a competition rc pilot), I've got to say this one flies the best. And I believe it is thanks to the totally streamlined fuselage, retracts & basically a Celera 500L like profile.

      Thank you for noticing one of my very basic ideas on this channel. Keep the basis for comparison similar as possible.
      One kinda big detail is that I have improved as a pilot over the years. This is a factor. I don't fancy myself some "expert" pilot, but I do feel I can hold my own. As I've progresses, there's bound to be an improvement in the way the planes fly. This is one of the basis, I can't control, or easily gauge for you all watching at home. I trust, as an engineer, you have considered this too ;)

    Yep just get the batteries than spin your prop, almost ALL the many models I've built and flown, nitro, electric, from sail to interceptors, cg is always forward point and then moved back , wing loading is not lightest wins, its stability , tracking and wind penetration, just saying even a 1 meter p-51 I added rudder , no gear, wood prop and about 5ounces of steel, flew much better ,faster top end, and tracking improved as the bit of weight pushes a bit into vector, you get rid of model jitters a bit, it should actually fly like a real aircraft with enhanced power to weight... You know, just in case anyone ....
