I like the bike being white or a different color than the body. It makes it pop a bit more as the heart of the car as opposed to blending in too much. Also could you mount the bike to a kind of push rod suspension so that the tail of the bike goes up and down too? That way you aren't stuck with a hard tail car lol. Awsome idea!
I once had a racebike and switched the shifting upside down, so on the racetrack it was first gear up, the rest down
And no I have a chopper/bobber where I tried to make a suicide clutch. (Didn’t work out)
So i have experience when I say:
When you are going to bring the clutch to the front: keep in mind that right now it is made for your foot…
When you replace the gear leaver, you also lengthen the movement to get in a different gear MASSIVLY!! Like what one you could do with your foot (5-10cm of movement) can instantly turn in a 100cm movement (un do-able when you are behind the wheel)
I hop you understand what I mean, otherwise hit me up. I can send a movie to your mail

  • @simopics
    @simopics Před rokem +5

I have an idea: what about cutting the rear floor and mounting the bike lower, so you can use the rear swingarm of the bike making it work like the quad one: you can solve "suspension and drivetrain" problem.
Also, with the bike mounted lower, you can "move the sequential gearbox" under the floor, making it cleaner inside, and it would be easier to cool down the motor/moving the radiator.
Another "advantage" would be being able to drive Kevin by using the actual bike, making it crazier.
This project is so cool in my opinion
(I hope my comment is understandable... English isn't my first language)

In order to drive the rear axle, you will need to mount the bike hard to Kevin's floor. Maybe weld together a bike stand (for both front and rear), but use the rear without the whole wheel. The reason for hard mounting the bike is the chain needs to maintain its length. Talk to bike builders about cooling. Not sure if or how low the radiator can be mounted in relation to the engine if you decide to put it in the place of the old engine.

I would keep the rear axle as it is, but making yet another subframe to hold the end of a longitudinal axle from the diff to the point the chain connects. It would need a welded small diff just under the bike engine's output, the transversal axle with the sprocket for the bike to move it, and the rear diff. But it would be a way better solution, even it it's too complex for a show car.

for the shifting set up i suggest a double cable setup one for shifting up one for shifting down. One cable would pull up on the lever and one would pull down. Then, hook both cables up to the front and back of any sort of lever. it would also be easy to tuck away down by the floor or if you want to get fancy, drill one large or two small holes in the floor and route it under the body and repeat up near the lever.

Also, a small technical point: are you sure the engine would be powerful enough to drive both Kevin and the motorcycle? I mean, it's meant to drive only the motorcycle, the whole combo (motorcycle + Kevin's body + wide wheels) will be much heavier.

A solid through-axle to mount the front end would probably be more ideal than a cage around the wheel. It'll make getting the bike in and out more challenging, but it'll be a lot better than the bike being able to move up and down a couple centimeters. Plus it gets the front wheel out of the way, which'll make it a whole lot easier to get seats in there.

Its a crazy idea, but definitely doable (I don't know how but everything can be build if you put yourself to it) good luck. I'm gonna enjoy watching this because it's so crazy

Remember that in a bike the gears are like: 1 n 2 3 4 5 so you probably have to work with that a lil bit

this has to be one of the best ideas i’ve ever seen, just make sure not to suffocate on exhaust fumes :)

That FZR is mint, I used to ride one and I absolutely loved it. Please whatever you do don't destroy that bike or any of the parts on it, especially the bodywork. It can be worth quite a bit of money as they are becoming very hard to find in good shape.

As long as you brace the bike with an exo-skeleton full send! Only concern I see is if the chain will be able to move the weight of the van when accelerating from a stop. There is gonna be a lot of tension on the chain and gears.

    I have 2 ideas:
    1) To connect bike’s exhoust to Kevin’s exhoust
    2) Cut huge air inlets in doors so air can cool bike’s engine

Few things I wanna question and that’s 1. What’s your plan for exhaust fumes and shit ? And 2. With windows shut and bike running through gears wouldn’t inside the cab be deafening loud ? Even with earplugs I imagine it to be loud big time

You might want to think about where to route the exhaust, noise inside the cabin and brakes if it's really going to move under it's own power. Other than that I don't know how much of the bike you want to keep looking as a bike, but removing the wheels and mounting it lower might help with the center of mass.

This is going to be absolutely insane and I love it, Just make sure the exhaust from the bike is really good quality being it's in the same cabin as the driver otherwise noise and gasses could be a very slight issue 😅. also maybe instead of coming down from the roof for the accelerator/clutch you could have it come up through the original engine housing and go straight into the front of the bike behind the front wheel. regardless I cannot wait to see where this goes!

Very interesting build, don't really like it but I'm here to watch it being built. instead of going the go-cart route maybe look at changing the ring and pinion in the stock diff with a sprocket, that way you can keep the stock mounts but have it chain driven. The inside of the diff might be too small though.

This whole time I thought you would take out the bike engine and convert to kevin, but as you started to roll the bike inside kevin I was like "no fucking way...there's no way they're doing something like this..." Sure enough, you are. You're basically making a type of rikshaw, lol. Very popular in India. You guys are crazy, love it.

I think one of the biggest challenges here would be cooling system and the way to put some fresh air to the engine. Maybe the space after old engine would be a good place to make some vents

leaving the whole motorbike together in the back of the van??? that sounds amazing!

  • @visualartsmr.brandon2060

It would also be rad if you could keep the motorbike independent/modular. Like you could unlock the bike, put a front wheel on it, take it out and drive it after arriving as a van. The rear wheel could go through a hole in the floor. You could aim a back up camera at the bike dash with a view screen for Kevin's dash.
