Spelunky 2 - Daily Challenge 2023-11-02 - Cosmic Ocean 7-99 (Volcana-Tide Pool/Abzu route)

Very minor audio issues for 2 levels (7-17 and 7-26).
My 6th Cosmic Ocean 7-99.
And 2nd in a Daily Challenge.
By the end of the day one more player got to 7-99, but I still kept my #2 spot on the Cross-Play leaderboard.
I did a lot of dumb mistakes in the early game. Really felt like everything was going wrong.
Udjet Eye, The Dice game, one of the last chances to get Kapala(which could have been the last) etc.
I haven't watched this yet so it might be that they felt worse when playing.
Either way... Can't believe this ended up as another victory.
This is my sixth Cosmic Ocean 7-99 win total.
Second one in a Daily Challenge.
This was my 107th visit to Cosmic Ocean. By this point I had played Spelunky 2 for about 462h.
I switched the character to the next one every day I played.
So I didn't really choose which characters won. I tried my best with all of them.

I took a few minute break and switched the recording to a new one at the beginning of 7-7, 7-35, 7-51 and 7-83.

5:44 not good and not good.
5:58 that layout and the second door are very clear giveaways that it is not the Udjet Eye room.
I have no idea how managed to confuse it all the way. Little embarrasing at this point...
Many other early small mistakes can be excused by this being the first run of the day. But this shouldn't have happened.
6:59 until this I was pretty sure I was going to go to the jungle this time. But the lack of Udjet Eye and having enough bombs made Volcana the obvious choice.
8:31 another dumb mistake. After going all the way around to get to the pet.
Also I was 99.9% sure the skeleton would not be able to bounce me up there.
10:18 and this is the moment when I decided to go to Tide Pool. Because I missed the key to get to Van Horsing. Which means no Alien Compass in Temple.
21:34 now this is a mistake I don't remember ever doing. I was simply going to put Vlad's Cape temporarily on the groud.
Didn't think that I was already holding the dice... Can't believe I didn't die there. Unfortunately the hired hand did.
25:59 trying to make a chasm for the new hired hand to stay in just to realize that of course the trap = bad.
26:50 after trying to get it to pick up the Clone Gun for a while. I realized they must have some kind of mechanic that they won't pick up ANYTHING while in a shop. So that they won't anger the shopkeepers.
35:15 an earlier mistake scared me as soon as I entered this level.
37:20 last look at my previous/less interesting constellation.

40:50 no matter how many times this happens. I still keep doing it every now and then.
42:27 finally! Run saved. Because this was a Daily I still would have tried to get as far as possible. But otherwise I wouldn't even try Cosmic Ocean without Kapala.
49:21 The Celestial Jelly didn't surprise me, I was expecting it from that direction. It was the first jump that I kept so small for some reason what made that a close call.
1:00:09 damn... On this Daily too. Vlad's cape made me not having to hurry too much, but I definitely went a bit faster from this point onwards.
1:05:15 poison scare.
1:14:46 this was really risky. I expected it to jump back up. I chose to go for it because I needed to be moving relatively quickly because of the poison.

1:33:45 I was testing if I could farm health fast enough this way. Didn't feel worth it. Maybe if I hadn't had the Ankh left.
1:40:29 and 1:40:44 I guess I wasn't happy about the amount of health I had. So I had to reduce it.
2:03:15 this mole was my co-op partner there.
2:09:05 losing the Ankh didn't happen directly because of the poison, but I was rushing because of it so in a way it's still what killed me.

2:53:12 this run has had 2 really rare item drops from enemies. These Spike Shoes from this Jiangshi. And Pitcher's Mitt from a Yeti earlier(didn't write the timestamp down).
3:12:58 I didn't want to go to the crate without carrying a body in case an arrow falls on me. But it would have been tricky to break it like that. So I decided to skip it because it's so late and I didn't really need anything.
3:17:11 this would have been a fun way to die at 7-96.
3:20:52 the moment you realize you've already won.
3:21:16 I definitely exaggerated little bit with all those ropes no matter how many extras I had at the end. Falling down like that only because I was trying to make the exit safer wasn't really that dangerous, but it still added more risk. 3:21:35 that final rope was really all I needed to make it safe and easy.
3:21:35 second time I finish with 99 health and over 1000000$. But I did lose the Ankh this time. This gave me one of my favourite Constellations so far.
3:27:24 the "Cross-Play" Leaderboards unfortunately won't display proper user names/platforms.
On Steam version it shows everyone properly. I played on Xbox Series X.
