Wltoys 144002 1/14 Monster Truck. Unboxing and Complete Tear Down.

Today's video we are looking at one of the latest offerings from Wltoys. The 1/14 scale monster truck that is the 144002. based on its excellent older brother the 144001, the 144002 takes all the good bits and adds some up to date styling! The 144001 is almost ledgendary in the budget RC sector so this new 144002 should prove to be just as good.

Excellent in depth tear down my friend!💯I should tear them down when I get them , but usually wait a bit to drive them first and then eventually get to the diffs to see if they need a bit of grease. I totally appreciate those channels like yours that dig right in out of the box because they want to know how everything works, and share it with all of us! Merry Christmas to you too! Sometimes the teardown videos are because I can't do a run video with that particular RC. I must admit there not as exciting as a run video, watching the thing flying around bashing and the like (this is why the big channels don't really do it). But if you are thinking of buying one then it's probably of more interest to you. 🙋👍🙋👍🙋

Excellent job my mate 👍🏻 and a metal wrench! Who'd ov thunk it! I'd like that car but I haven't got room for any more 🤔 looks like a really good basher! I like the metal hubs too, the plastic ones do brake so that's good to see 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 Traxxas and Arrma could learn a thing or two from wltoys. I explained in Perth Wests video the other day, he got the 124019 V2 but the brushless one, they've fixed the cogging and ranges issues and it's not even been out long? The x maxx has been out for 4 or 5 years now and came with a plastic geard servo which inevitably broke in the first week. So they sell you a metal geared one for £105. Now when you buy an X maxx 4 years later it still comes with that same plastic servo so you buy the upgraded one. And that's just 1 example of many that traxxas and Arrma do to piss you off and take your money. In my opinion wltoys are best RC company out there! If they start making bigger scale cars like 1/8 or even bigger I think they'll give bigger brands a hard time pal 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 And I forgot to mention, for about a year Arrmas came with a spekrum stx2 transmitter and it was probably the worst radio ever made. CZcams was full of videos about it. I bought a new v4 kraton with one mate, utter garbage. And you pay top dollar for that stuff! I'd rather have the wltoys one. Infact I replaced it with a goolrc that cost me 18 quid brand and thats still one of my favourite radio's. I still use one today on a couple of my cars. Anyway I'll stop rambling now 😜
@@ksrnate yes on a serious note they did make strides to fix it quickly so hats of to them. How did it ever get out the door like that in the first place though? Surely somebody must be in charge of testing the product? I personally thought they should have stuck the larger 3650 motor in them from the off. They sell hundreds of those 60A combos on Banggood with hardly anyone reports any cogging with the standard gearing. 👍🙋
@@ksrnate yes I must admit that's one of my favourite transmitters to come with a budget RC. It feels decent quality in the hand👍👍

It's basically a 144001 so any other bodyshell from that range will go on with the correct mounts. Also, Phatbodys do some cool shells for wltoys. 👍

Is this the rlaarlo 1/14 truggy platform ? It’s pretty sweet regardless , both 👍👍👏🦅 . It looks like it anyways . I think for the 1/14 buggy it’s the wl 144001 chassis and then they make it 2s/3s brushless with decent electronics and motor . I have the cf Omni terminator too but it looks like their design . The wires were too close to the motor going into the receiver box . I just have to flip them around for my own conscience but nothing has happened besides my dumbass trying the larger pinion and when I put the original back I forgot to tighten down so some new pinions 24t-28t 3.175 48pitch I think 1/10 s are but I did order one orginal from rlaarlo . You know when you hear the noise and should stop ? I didn’t , lol . I know it can be fixed . Still , I’m not sure why I popped a wheelie whilst she was screaming in agony . I guess I wanted to be done with my poor gear mesh and faulty mechanics and start fresh with a new mesh . 👍👍🤣. Stupid , should have left it alone to begin with . It was smooth and slilent
I don't think so. I think if you trace its linage back, it may have been copied loosely from a ZD Racing buggy.
