    I own this same bike but the 2019. (same helmet and dark smoke visor too!) Best motorcycle I've owned and ridden. The features are just insane. Love it!

    I have to say... Just tested One and had exactly the same thrill! I'm just 1,73 cm tall and never felt unconfortable!!! Even in the Traffic... What a bike!! I'm going to get One pretty soon! Greetings from Portugal and ride safe!

    love your review on the tiger 1200 , strange though see you on the wrong side of the road . i live in new zealand and have a 2011 sorint gt1050

  • @terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff

    The brakes are linked, just use the front lever. I'm just glad you didn't stick it in sports mode, your brain would of exploded! That 800 will never satisfy you again!

    Love your channel man! Huge triumph fan and currently debating between a street triple rs and a tiger 800 so your videos are very helpful!

    • @MotoChooch
      @MotoChooch  Před 6 lety

      Uzair Baig for single bike life if you’re taller the tiger will be a better fit bit the street is a LOT of fun! Tough call!

    • @BaigUzair
      @BaigUzair Před 6 lety

      Im only 5'7 so i guess that sorts that issue lol! i think ill be going with the street. In your opinion, did you find the black or the grey more visually pleasing?

    • @MotoChooch
      @MotoChooch  Před 6 lety

      Uzair Baig White :). Between the two I like the gray they have though.

    • @BaigUzair
      @BaigUzair Před 6 lety

      LOL i know you love the white! I would take it in white as well if the RS came in it. Thanks!

  • @coffeedrinkingbiker9419

    It’s a great bike. Unfortunately it’s to heavy for city travelling because it also feels heavy. Fantastic for long trips.

  • @jimwms1able
    @jimwms1able Před 6 lety

    You think you are slightly bias? I have owned two 1200’s and the triple is awesome. That said the Triumphs are very top heavy. Once you load the bike up and have a pillion it is a real hand full. More important...the dealership network is very light! Triumph pulled out of our town and it became a 160 mile round trip to go to the dealership. That was ultimately why I got rid of my Triumph.

    • @MotoChooch
      @MotoChooch  Před 6 lety +2

      Jim W. Can’t blame you if you have no local dealer. And I do have to agree the last gen was very top heavy. Have you sat on the new one? Feels completely different.

    Did you ever ride the higher end 16-17s? They have a lot of the same features as this one. WP suspension and all that. I got the 17 XCA, incredible machine. I went with the 1200 because I stay on the road mostly.

    • @MotoChooch
      @MotoChooch  Před 6 lety

      jakehag I have a 2016 XRt. Has some great features but not the suspension of the XCa.

    I dont know if you are serious but THIS BIKE IS HEAVY omg...
    I still would prob buy instead of the GS 1200, but omg. I did a test drive and this bike was the heaviest bike by far i rided. I had a Nc 750 2016 planning to upgrade.
    Dont liked much the 800 but this 1200 was awsome even if was heavy as fuck, the other i was looking into is the bmw s1000XR.
    I prefer the XR but i hate the old dated user interface and i dont like much the vibs you get on the bike. Still looking for the next gen of the XR to make a choice.
    Still great video.

    Aside from all the other improvements on the Tigers, I hope they have spent some money redesigning the screens properly. I love my Tiger, but turbulent air coming off the screens and hammering on the helmet drives me to distraction.

    • @MotoChooch
      @MotoChooch  Před 6 lety

      OldManTony I put a Madstad on my 800 XRt and never looked back. Best mod I’ve done.

    • @jasonspollen8998
      @jasonspollen8998 Před 6 lety +2

      My 2018 XRT has the longer touring screen as standard. No turbulence at all. Comparing to my friends 2013 with shorter screen and he has plenty.

  • @jasonspollen8998
    @jasonspollen8998 Před 6 lety

    I have my 2018 xrt now since mid January. Love it. But I'm curious. Our european bikes have full led lighting. Your bikes have the older turn signals like on the 2017 and older models had. Ours are led. Are led turn signals not legal in your country?

    • @MotoChooch
      @MotoChooch  Před 6 lety

      Jason Spollen they are legal. Plenty of cars have them. Not sure why the bikes don’t.

    • @rossagge
      @rossagge Před 6 lety

      The LEDs are available, but as aftermarket add on here in the U.S. for the Tiger. The LED fogs are a Triumph accessory for other Tigers not equipped with them from the factory. I noticed watching some EURO vids that LEDs come from the factory. Wish they would do that here. Kinda got turned off by it when I was spec'ing out my new bike on the U.S. site. No biggie, I'll get them later. Picking up my XRx Low suspension next week. Can't wait!
      MotoChooch - Nice vid. I actually just bought mine from RPM Cycle in Dallas. Funny that I stumbled across your vid. Cheers!

    I am looking at buying the Tiger xca 800, would like the 1200, but the weight of the 1200 seems it would be hard to deal with, especially off-road, and considering I am 5’ 7’

    • @MotoChooch
      @MotoChooch  Před 6 lety +1

      James Bullock you should really sit on both and feel for yourself. The new 1200 feels like the old 800 but the new 800 is even lighter.

    • @danielthompson803
      @danielthompson803 Před 6 lety

      James Bullock you do realize that they make a low version of the bike so your height will be fine.

      I have had a 800 XCA for 1 year 1/2 now, first bike ever, had my license 1 day before I placed the order. I am 5’9”, was tough at the beginning but now very ok. Very comfy on long trip. Full of power, even loaded with lpaniers, top case and 2 of us on it. Perfect to gain and build experience. No regret whatsoever !

  • @jimwms1able
    @jimwms1able Před 6 lety +2

    Nope. I am done with Triumph. I like the company but the fact that they keep elliminating dealerships in the US is enough for me. I bought a Super Tenere and that bikes rocks. Not as much horsepower but low center of gravity and handling is fantastic. Just took a trip up the west coast and back on it with my wife and it did not miss a beat. The last big trip I took with the Triumph was to Glacier National Park. It road well but it was so heavy I had to constantly be on my guard not to drop it. The Tenere was never, never a concern. If you get a 1200 I hope you enjoy it very much. My opinion is that Triumph is a great company but are not really in it to win it in the USA. Cheers.

    • @pinkiewerewolf
      @pinkiewerewolf Před 6 lety

      Thats good information to know. I didn't realize that Triumph was shrinking from the US motorcycle community.

    • @ttrguy9952
      @ttrguy9952 Před 5 lety +6

      Triumph is out selling Harley and a lot of Japanese brands here in the US!!! It's the dealerships that are the problem! Triumph does not want bad dealerships associated with the name! The reason the dealerships are closing is , basically, because, they SUCK and Triumph only wants good dealers to represent the brand. Triumph is winning a huge share here in the US. The problem maybe where you live is you would have a long ride to the closest GOOD Triumph dealer..... Here in New England, I have 3 of the best right here! The guy that works on my 2017 Thruxton R worked at the Hinckley factory in England!!!!!! Don't give up the brand because of your dealer experience......
