Shang Tsung might be the funniest option, because there is one scene where Shang Tsung is urging Shang Tsung to climb up the pyramid to reach Shang Tsung. Unfortunately, Shang Tsung kills Shang Tsung, and in the end, Shang Tsung must defeat Shang Tsung so that Liu Kang can finally erase Shang Tsung from existence.
Oh my God the repetition I can't. đ
And without Shang Tsung to maintain the timeline, Liu Kang must help Shang Tsung return to his timeline.

Lets give around of applause to Baraka. MK1 gave him one of the best story line this time
I love the old tho, heâs the smartest of his species so heâs responsible for trying to preserve them, not the diseased, but making Tarkatans a victim of a mutant disease is an interesting take. They actually gave him A backstory though, bro had a wife and a kid who got infected but still tries his best with the time heâs got to do something meaningful.
They didnât kill the boi. This is a win to me.

Honestly the big winners for this timeline that Liu Kang did good with was Reptile, Baraka, and Mileena. After jobbing for the last 3 games, they got good stories and roles. Mileena in particularly getting what she always wanted but in the best way that would allow her to flourish with love and support of her positive role model family. In return, she also shows compassion and great leadership to her people.
Liu Kang complementing Shang Tsung is hilarious đ.
I thought he would have said, "Thank you for your help, Shang Tsung, but I hope we don't meet again." You know, as a funny twist.
Remember all timelines are different, so this shang tsung is from a timeline where is reformed rather than evil, something that we all wished for, a what if shang tsung was a hero.

I think Sindel and Baraka got some of the best character personality tweaks in this game, I really enjoyed their presence in this story.

Shao and Liu Kang defeating the Deadly Alliance is the perfect ending, considering that in the first timeline, the DA was created to kill those 2. And Shao reaching the summit is the perfect callback to Mk Armageddon (poor Taven) and MK9.
That's honestly how did it the first time I got to it mainly cause Shao Kahn my favorite character, pretty funny seeing him being "good" on his way up,sucked that the DA like mkda just play as regular characters not bosses tho my biggest concern feels like invasions have bosses đ tho wtf

It's interesting to see how Bi Han's voice has a slight change in tone, he doesn't speak so aggressively and loudly as his evil counterpart does. His face expressions are also different, he's more serene and composed
Yep this Bi Han talks softer but his voice still comes off as chilled and rigid which shows he can still be aggressive when he has to but shows clear respect for Liu Kang. Thatâs the Bi Han that shouldâve stayed in the story mode not the power hungry wannabe Vegeta we have now

Now regarding his personality on the story mode, I believe they did this to bring back the rivalry between scorpion and sub because, while also showing more of the relationship between bi han and Kauai Liang, that was missing in previous games. By making him evil they are setting up the shirai Ryu / Lin Kuei rivalry. I also believe they did this to later kill him off and bring him back as Noob Saibot. They know Noob Saibot is loved by the fans, i'm definitely sure they are going to kill him off in the story expansion.

Or maybe in the next game they can do something like Kuai Liang learns to control Bi Han's powers and somehow gives his own fire powers to Hanzo Hasashi who was teased in the Smoke ending. That way we would have al three of them, Sub, Scorpion and Noob.
â@@_feli_1085 considering the change in characters and identities of Kuai Liang and Hanzo Hasashi, something tells me Bi-Han won't become Noob Saibot. Sub-Zero's ending in the Tower mode tells us he's investing in the Lin Kuei Cyborg Initiative, so I can kinda see Noob being actually a full-on robot or one of the new cyborgs along with Sektor and Cyrax, leaving Bi-Han as Sub-Zero.
Imagine if they integrated the dlc characters into the final fight. Imagine a heroic Homelander fighting Titan Shang Tsung.

Exactly I expected some of Lui kangs dialogue to be different for example I expected him to say like hopefully your not up to your antics when we meet again and so on.
It's even more unbelievable knowing Shang Tsung being more humble than ever (this one with redeeming quality, instead of sarcasm)

Waiting for someone to show the differences from the staircase battles, fighting all the "warped versions" of Titan Shang Tsung's army. From the various playthroughs I've seen, it's different per character
"You must return to your time line before this one collapses" mid credits scene takes place hours after these events in the very same timeline.
Good point I just thought of something though maybe a titan can sort of take on the role of the previous timeline keeper and hold it together
Yeah it is kind of disappointing that they didn't see how the others are doing in the ending whoever you choose but it is interesting how many times they had to do with each of the characters

Some of them are from Alternate Timelines(Sub-Zero, Havik, Nitara, Sindel, General Shao and another Liu Kang for example) while others are from the current timeline(Raiden, Mileena, Baraka, Reptile, Scorpion, and Kenshi for example)
The fact that we could create a scenario where Shao teamed up with Liu Kang was worth it.

I love the idea of the villains being playable, but their alternate heroic versions of them, who where brought up differently, I like it, getting to see a heroic Shao or even a nicer, still ego fueled, Rain, or an actual not evil Havik
My head cannon is that those heroic alternatives came from the Fujin becomes Jesus timeline where even Kano looks happy

This entire final act was so much fun. Having unique cutscenes for each character as well as seeing all of their weird combined clones.
My favourite were the ninja mime trio
My favorite parts is when liu kang says "and they call me the chosen one" and when he says "you have done more than enough please permite me to end this" that are the best parts of the video
Characters this feels the most right for:
Kung Lao (Always playing 2nd fiddle... Yet when paired with Liu Kang, will always make the most powerful duo)
Raiden (Even in another timeline, the God of Thunder within him still shines through)
Shao ("He must win." In the shadow of Armageddon, Shao will always triumph)
Shang Tsung (Everything started with Shang Tsung, it falls upon him to put this right and save his own timeline)
Geras (When his master Liu Kang is the most in danger, that's when a Titanic power erupts from Geras, his will to protect makes him Earthrealm's ULTIMATE defender)
Havik (If an alternate Havik is powerful enough to best the Ultimate Deadly Alliance... What does that mean about the most powerful Havik...?)

It's weird seeing the villains have claim interactions with Liu Kang when in his timeline they would usually be unpleasant towards him.
I know, especially with Shang Tsung, which is so strange to fight with him and facing his evil counterpart.

Even if you are Liu Kang, there is another, even more chosen one Liu Kang to take your victory in the story cutscene.

I mean he doesnât try and keep the amulet or do any form of power play there, plus he attempts to save and redeem Sareena. Honestly I was with Kitana when she said âIs there any timeline where Tanya isnât evilâ and liked how Mileena and Tanya were both good in this one.
Light Side Shang Tsung dressed in white from the cutscenes totally blew my mind.

There's a version in mk11 where Kuai Liang expelled the evil from his heart. Wouldn't be surprised if he made him a Titan along with him and that's who we see

Liu kang having respect for all who win against shang is a nice premise, "you're not my version, so you've no issue with me".
Even on the side of Good, Shao still has that attitude to him. Glad to see no matter the timeline, he will still have that ego.

Ya know, I wonder how genuinely good the good versions of the bad guys are. Like I wouldnt be surprised if good Shang is actually chaotic neutral and he's only seen as good cause thats is as far the moral limit as any Shang Tsung of any timeline is willing to go.
I like to think this Shao Kahn we see has been warned as has knowledge about The One Being (maybe by the hourglass?), thus stopped being the conqueror he was supposed to be. He is still probably a jerk, but not a danger to all realms and realities because he hella won't give up what he already has.
I imagine good Shao would see all the realms as already conquered by him. He doesn't want to rule them, instead content to just call them his Realms. Firm but fair, he leads all the realms by example: that anyone who threatens them would be utterly crushed.
@@epiccarrot88 That's the thing, I was thinking that a "good" Shao could very likely rule similarly to a noble Ottoman sultan. Still technically an authoritarian power, but hardly a monster and may even prove to make things better for the rest of the realms, including Earthrealm. Basically lawful neutral, and with Shao, maybe that's the best we can get. Better than other iterations of Shao Kahn. đ

There are some good shang tsungs, maybe even the one where Shang had to fight liu kang who was a corrupted god would be one, though Iâm unsure. Whatever the case, it is no doubt weird.

You can definitely see people like Havik are still locked before you beat the story, then are unlocked on replay. Not to mention the extension bar slot for the DLC is there.
So yeah, if Homelander can be played for this finale, it'll be funny to have Liu Kang go, "May we meet again someday, Homelander!"

I was most curious about Shang Tsungâs. Itâs times like this when I wish dialogues were less copy paste. But hey, guess there really is a timeline where Shang Tsung was good. I like him enough as a villain and Iâve seen how cool he is as an ally, so Iâm as intrigued as can be.
Liu Kang always intended for MK1 Shang Tsung to have a better upbringing under Sindel.
Until MK 9-11's Titan Shang Tsung got ahold of him.

I like to see Rain's story ending with Liu Kang to be canon because he is achieving redemption, I will not have any other villains with Liu Kang, their actions are too unforgivable and they will pretend to be good and backstab him, so Rain is the only one who wouldn't betray Liu Kang.
This is really weird because Liu Kang not only found other Keeper Of Time versions of the rest of the cast but versions that were also good. But with this ending there's now also the possibility of a timeline where evil Shang Tsung wins.
It makes every possible ending in mk11 canon(yes, all the characters in mk11 is canon, maybe a few exceptions)

My choice was Shao. I couldn't miss the irony that out of all the MK characters, Shao Kahn might be the one to save the entire multiverseđ. It was also nice to see Shao and Kitana as a team for a few short seconds. Especially the way he proudly said âNicely done, Kitana.â đ
And yes, I still want to know more about this Good_Titan_Shao than about that loser General Shao from the Liu Kang universe đ
