    Wow, a farm practicing regenerative farming with animals and they are not being slaughtered? God, I am so much in.

      Yeah, Mollie and Elias (the farmers) have found a balance that works for them, while restoring degraded soil and land, and giving a home to some animals to live out the rest of their days.

      @@RegenerativeJourney that’s amazing! This is definitely something I can show to people who are skeptic that veganism only works within industrial farming. Great work

    Hello, do you know of any other vegan chefs who are practising regenerative farming and the animals are not slaughtered? Thank you so much for posting this. These folks are a HUGE inspiration for me and I am certainly very interested in this system. I do believe animals are a biodiverse part of nature and should be left to be consumed by wild predators and not humans. I understand the monetary side of farming is very intensive however we have less than 60 years to regenerate the soil and help ourselves as an entire species from the damaging effects of land erosion. To all humans, please consider veganism and supporting farms that are not contributing to the mass destruction of our planet. We only have one planet we can live on. Lets save her from ourselves and most importantly, let's save ourselves from extinction.

    The so called Regenerative Agriculture has been around for many years. In those days it was called respect the land. Be a land custodian , not a rape and pillager. Leave it more fertile that when you found it is our only real job. Diversify all farm lots either big , medium or small. Nothing new, just for past generations it has been all about the money!!!!!!!!!!! Carbon is the KEY...

      Thanks for checking it out Lauren! Glad you liked the content. I think the challenge is figuring out how to support all farms and farmers as they find ways to transition to more regenerative practices. We'll need all hands on deck, including large industrial scale farms, to help improve soil health around the world.

      @@RegenerativeJourney Yes, and figuring out how to make it profitable, that's what most people will be looking for and what will really attract people to trying to do it. Unfortunately money is the biggest motivator.

    Thank you Bro and Sister for sharing valuable information. I like to start integrated farming without chicken, 🐑 and fish 🐟. For natural fertilizer, have plan to rise native breed cows. For diversification, plan to cultivate vegetables, flowers, seasonal fruits , bamboo and trees for furniture wood. Please share your thoughts and also is running restaurant in vehicle good idea? Please suggest some insights about agri related small business ( less capital) . Thank you ❤

      @downbntout Před 2 lety +2

      Do not own the land. That's key! Farmers are dying off, family is willing to lease it, you have no mortgage. Just pay their property taxes and keep it nice, bring them flowers, in many cases. Learn more about regenerative ag and jump in!

    Thanks for the upload; very interesting. Would you know what's the origin of the animals used on the farm (rescued/bought)? What happen when they are old and of no use to the farm but an expense? Are the eggs from the chicken or the wool, if the sheep are sheared, sold? I'm interested in the relationship with the partner animals; may be you could do a video centered in that aspect?Thanks again.

    • @RegenerativeJourney
      @RegenerativeJourney  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks for the interest and questions. From what I recall, all of the animals are rescues. One story I remember Mollie telling is how a movie production asked her to take a bunch of ducks they didn't know what to do with after filming ended. The eggs are sold. I'm not sure about the wool. When animals die I believe they burry them. I'm no longer near this farm and so am unable to do anymore filming. You can contact Sow A Heart Farm if you have more questions. :)

    By the last couple of minutes of the video I presume you're saying this model can't be profitable, am I correct? How feasible would it be for someone who doesn't own a restaurant and would have to live off of the profits made through agriculture to run a vegan farm such as yours? Me and my partner have been considering farming as a professional activity for our future but we're wondering wether veganism would be an impediment. Cheers

    In California, as of Feb. 2021, if you inherit property, it will be reassessed at "fair market value" for property tax purposes, thanks to Prop 19, which will make it almost impossible for inheritors to keep the property because of the new higher property taxes. It was a sinister and poison deal between California State legislators and the CA Assn of Realtors. It passed by 1% as it was deceptively written. We are all hoping for a taxpayer revolt to rescind it.

    • @RegenerativeJourney
      @RegenerativeJourney  Před 3 lety +1

      That sounds rough Elizabeth. I'm not a Californian myself and don't know much about California laws. I know the Kiss The Ground organization and many others are working on farming focused policies in California. Look them up and see if the work they're doing addresses labs access issues. kisstheground.com/

    So the Eggs are used as food, are they rescued animals? are the animals eaten?, if the flesh and or secretions of the animals are used then they are obviously not ‘’Vegan’’ (Chefs) but plant based! 🌻🌎✊🏽
