New episode of Transit Action from my August 2023 LA Trip!
The Regional Connector is a 2 miles light rail tunnel for the LA Metro Rail system in Downtown LA, which connected the A and E lines together with the former L Line. It finally opened on June 16, 2023, featuring 3 new underground stations - Little Tokyo/Arts District, Historic Broadway and Grand Avenue Arts/Bunker Hill.
I finally get to see this project opening in person! In my opinion, this project is wonderful! It allows riders going from East LA to Santa Monica to enjoy a one-seat ride, as well as connecting Azusa with the rest of the metro system by having a transfer point at 7th St/Metro Center Station!
Stations List:
00:00 Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill Station
04:42 Historic Broadway Station
08:39 Little Tokyo/Arts District Station
Muni Metro should take notes on how the LA Metro runs. Grade crossings, all high level platforms , far stop spacing and generally fast.
I agree, and less breakdown too!
I thought they we’re gonna decommission the P2550s because they we’re sincerely made for the gold line, but I was wrong there now running on the A and E lines, and they might be put on the C and K lines
Hopefully that’s the case, they are great trains!
He jorage i m alix order pakistan area metro and train and loder train stastion asmblingh dutty fast work up
I love the new Regional Connector The A Line is the two lines are the longest the A is Number 1 and the E is Number 2. 🔵🟡
Me too, a very successful connector for the two lines too!
Yes. The Regional Connector is a game changer for LA Metro. It feels like the LA Metro has finally crossed that line into a true transit system. It will cross that metric again when LA Metro connects to the LAX People Mover in 2024. Very exciting stuff.
@@mrxman581 another great project to connect communities!
@@mrxman581I'm thinking once phase 1 of the D line extension opens the overton window for LA will have finally changed. Wilshire is the closest to a true business corridor in LA similar to Market Street in SF.
