Love to see our young kids keeping the tradition going. Good job Red Raiders.
This gives me so much pride in Kahuku even though I am going to Farrington. Go red raiders. The players are awesome. Hopefully still good when the good ones graduate.
I put this in my 'watch later' a couple months ago, because it looked like Fresno state vs Hawaii on the thumbnail, but clearly it wasnt.
A good sight never the less.
I love this ! I was going for st.louis too. bt coming from a Polynesian stand point. This shit gave me fkn chills. It's more than a game to these boys!! cheeeeeeeeehooooooooo... Lol I'm obvi still hyped. Bt got mad love for st.louis still.
CHICKEN SKIN AHHH??
Come to the mainland with that Haka & we’ll smack y’all back to the sidelines.
That was one of the best year that I will never forget
I can remember the years kahuku has been hated on and treated like the buff boys and as a kamehameha student I honestly see pride, this isn't unsportsmanlike and for the ref to not understand that, that Haka had nothing to do with braging, it showed pride and this I will remember just what we're always looked as "Hawaiians are the stupid ones" hell no we actually take pride as Hawaiians. What that ref displayed was just disrespectful so pono'ole.
The All Blacks (New Zealand's national rugby team) also run in to opposition for the haka...and they've been performing it for a hundred years! Good on these guys for not giving a damn. People will always fear the unknown...so keep doing it boys til they do. kia kaha from New Zealand.
Eugene Tuvae
No shit, they're all Polynesian. We're all in the Polynesian triangle. Same shit
Everything Eugene said. I'm from New Zealand, too.
And you are? That aint no haka aint even close im maori haka is my heritage thats more like a hawaiian luau lol indigenous aotearoa native here lol
Awsome!! Kia kaha from Aotearoa New Zealand ✊
Watch Hirkley...#21, one of the Captains...Once he realized what was going on, he was like "Forget this coin toss, I wanna go Haka!"
Hakas are always moving and powerful to witness when you understand the passion and joy for life the native Hawaiian people have , it is manifested in this ancient dance. Aloha!!!
Unreal! Somebody posted disrespecting the game!?!? Come on! That was insane!!! And the game result showed it too! Kahuku pounded it down the Crusaders throat! Thanks for posting!!!
K Shin then they got smashed 2 years in a row
St Louis did come to play, but Kahuku came to WIN! Congratulations RED RAIDERS #KaipahuaKura
Chicken skin moment. Refs trying to stop da boyz, don't think so!!! Thanx for posting!!
What you call in your language eniwae
I wish i stayed for the Kahuku Game. Wore my red shirt to support my school Radford and Kahuku. Congrats Red Raiders.
To all you haters get yo life👊🏽 If you don't know the meaning of what a haka mean then shut up. I'm proud of our boys and their decisions to perform the haka the way they did. 15 yard penalty was worth it. Y'all negative comments won't and will never stop Kahuku from performing the Haka and winning games. HI HATERS
I both luv kahuku and st Luis crusaders
I don't give a rats ass about those who think this was disrespectful. In no way was it intended to be disrespect to St. Louis. It was nothing more than a friendly challenge. Damn I wished we had this Haka in my years at Kahuku. Congrats to them boys because they F$CKING earned that state title...RR4L C/O '99.
Toniu Fonoti from Nebraska? You are a Red Raider legend...
Malo Classmate. 99 on mines
Love it
To the people that think we disrespected the sport or what not. Please tell HOW? Cause obviously your not from Hawaii. Haka is a common thing... They can give us as many dam penalty as they want, and will still show them wassup. RR4L
+Latu Fe'aomoeata You mean the Ha'a. The "Haka" is a Maori tradition.
+SunPacBrolyGo KuZu this is not a ha'a. this is a Maori Haka. yes its in Hawai'i but these boys are doing a Maori Haka.
Bob Forkntui Why don't the Hawaiins embrace their own culture ?
And i know it's not a Haka, i'm a Maori myself. And you don't say "Maori Haka", it's just "Haka". Haka is by default, a Maori term.
+SunPacBrolyGo KuZu - There are Hawaiian Private schools that does the hawaiian war dance the "Ha'a". but Not all the Polynesians on this team are Hawaiians that's why they dont do the Ha'a. There are also Samoans, Maori, Tongans, Tahitians and Tokelauens. This Haka is made specifically for Kahuku. "kaipahua kura"
+SunPacBrolyGo KuZu Haka is also a rarotongan cookisland and a rapanui term as well. just is more famous by the Maori people
Good job Red Raiders now try and win the 2017 championship game.
this reminds Me of the Movie Gridiron Gang👏👏
Love it!!!! Congrats Kahuku!
Kahuku has been hated for as long as I can remember. For those who say we're disrespectful, Your opinions are irrelevant! Our boys showed class by not responding to the social media hype that was going on. Our boysReplied with this Haka & played a damn good game! They left everything where it belongs... ON THE FIELD!!! We've been doing the Haka for years!! In my opinion it was well worth that bubbogum penalty... RED RAIDER FOR LIFE!!! Keep hating cause we keep creating- Natural Born Talent!! NO recruiting necessary! Take that to the locker room! Cheeeee hoooo!!! #RR4L _\,,/ #C/o'01
+Tara Aumau Social Media Hype? Wasn't it all on their side? Correct me if I'm wrong.
+Jonathan Misipati just to clarify we had that one video of all he shoutouts but all over the island and media Kahuku was getting ripped apart stating that the St. Louis high powered offense would tear Kahukus defense apart. This was coming from different analysts in the state who hyped up St. Louis.
Olit Noskcaj Ok rahj I never knew that. That video was tight tho! I'm not gonna lie I know Tua personally and I was going for St. Louis but good job RR you guys deserved it!
The haka was tight too! No matter what people say that time and place was perfect, atleast y'all stayed on your side of the field. St. Louis should've prepared their own haka and countered if they had a problem with it.
Tara Aumau TOO BAD COULDNT WORK ON BISHOP GORMAN LAS VEGAS , THEY HAVE SMASHED ALL THE TOP TEAMS AROUND THE USA , THEY NEED MORE THAN A HAKA 😆
I thought this was Fresno State v Hawaii...damn.
Why were people booing this moment?
Was that 2015 or 2016? Ironic If the latter
Is this a Hawaiian college?
What I want to know is how in the hell do you get a penalty BEFORE the damn game has even started?
I remember this day I was there
damn that must be all of Hawaii's residents in that stadium.lol
Is Haka also the name for a traditional 'war' dance in Hawaiian? Because Maori have the haka, Samoans have the sivu tau, Tongans sipu tau etc.? Just wondering
Hayley Ward the haka the siva tau and the sipa tau is all the same they are all the same
Talialelei Muliau No they are not, they are so so different. They have different meanings and uses.
Hayley Ward i meant that they are all war dances
who did the Samoans war against? Didnt know they had a war dance. Ive seen them do a slap dance...but I was told that was relatively new.
The word haka is Maori language. Not Hawaiian! By saying that confuses People. But Hawaiians don't listen. If they did then they wouldn't use the word haka.
32 player's on the other team didn't like this video.
man I remember baCC in the 2001 season when i think that's when kahuku adopted the haka we played them in the O.I.A CO CHAMPIONSHIP GAME because the September 11 era there was no o.i.a CHAMPIONSHIP game so there was 2 champs. obviously kahuku was the squad to beat but I played for AIEA and it got pumped just so we can get destroyed LOL.. but it's goose bumps seeing it live
808 Represent! No Other Can Do It Bettah Than Hawaii!
That was definitely worth the 15 yards
I can see why the referee thought the haka was unsportsmanlike if it wasn't expected. It can be quite intimidating. I always find the responses of the opposition and their supporters to be interesting. To try to depower the haka, australian crowd often start singing 'waltzing matilda' when the wallabys are playing the all blacks.
Yeah..solid..nice haka
Now thats how we should be doing the HAKA in football
Even from that side of the stadium, the cheers of the Red Sea drown out the boos from the "Brotherhood" LOL 7 turnovers, I think the haka did its job! GO BIG RED!
Then your boys lose 2 years in a row
WELL we went and won the game so don't really matter XD when I was there friken crazy that night
Now that's doing it!
That’s a pre game amazing
Yes, Joseph Smith is really happy of what's going on!
kahuku should come back to vegas over here and get a rematch with gorman
why
Oof
😂😂😂😂😂 cause that’s where the real competition is at
Georgette Smith why not?
Even thou I didn't going to Kahuku...that was awesome!
people that don't know the culture...don't understand. They just J because they didn't think of it themselves.
Well its not Hawaiian culture either. They stole it from New Zealand's Maori people for some entertainment. Its a bit disrespectful in my opinion.
There are so many Polynesians representing Kahuku ... and each have their own war dance. I guest they choose the best of them all, the famous Maori haka. It's OK with me.
It was worth the 15yard penalty to show all doubters that Red Raider Nation came to WIN! Cheeee Huuuuu!
12hrs
this highschool??????
Dude thats savage lol. Badasses
I'm pretty sure that this is copyright
fuck yea kahuku is the bast I live in kahuku
best and obviously not
Who won?
Not being a smart ass just wondering.
Kahuku won this state championship
YEA YOU RR4L BABY.
NAH OUT OF ALL SERIOUSNESS HECKA GOOD GAME BOYS.
Those refs are fired. They couldn't even tell if the ball went thru the field goal post. Oh well one hell of a win.
just gotta remember when someone else does it back, no get salty
+pulelehua01 pau alredy. they had haka face off before alredy
RR4L
Kahuku lost to Long Beach Poly and St. Louis lost to de la Salle. in a big double header in Honolulu
waianae is da best cousin
Sorry, not this year!
Oh yea of no understanding nice one to the red team Kia kaha
Kahukus always been hated. since i was playing. Tbh for a REGULAR small school & team from the kun3 not recruited nor anything. they pretty good to be 2 or 1 in hawaii. every year nothing special with us we just from the country we struggle but faka we bang so hate on us all you like we just hammahz from the kun3 ready fo fuckn bang. no comment if you like argue cuz Hau'ulaMafia #RRFL
haha IF YOU LOOK ON THE LEFT YOU WILL SEE KESI TRYING TO GO CROSS THE FIELD #RR4L KahukuOnTOP
look like he going crack da reff lol
Que grande!!!
cheoooo
is that Hawaii's haka? LOL
I'm glad they won, but they really should have done the Haka on the sidelines. The coin flip is part of the game and should be respected.
one thing i do know red raider football or haka does not win in america
They never could have shown this if Kahuku had lost the game.
+BentoBoy38 wouldn't have mattered
😂
I like, but if I was the coach my team won't do that.
Then u gots no Balls
don't see anything wrong with this.. they could have just done the haka on the sides though
why do it at all if they were to just stay on their sideline. would kinda defeat the purpose of it don't you think?
They usually do, but gotta go all out for the States game yah? lol
Very good... I believe this is a ha'a . A haka is a Maori war dance .. There chanting in Hawaiian not Maori .. This dance should have been done before the coin toss ..
this is a haka. the boys are chanting in te reo Maori. not olelo Hawaii. so Haka not Ha'a
They were chanting in Te Reo not 'Ōlelo, issa haka
I love it plz tell me they won though lol
Yes, they won.
I played rugby for many years and have seen many Hakka from the All Blacks and other Island teams. The All Blacks NEVER run into the opposition, and only perform the Hakka before the kick off.
The referee was correct to issue an unsportsmanlike penalty when the entire team invaded the field to perform the Hakka thereby guilty of time wasting.
In my opinion the red team disrespected the history of the Hakka by using it as some cheap cheerleading act.
Be proud of your people, your team, your achievements, by all means by know when to exhibit this pride.
I remember Hawaii's haka against UGA, didn't work out so well
I'd like to see their reaction to the penalization.
No fucks were given Lol
Nope, not a one! LOL
It was expected. They done it 9 time since 2000.
line dancers would do better
Your right, I won't forget how stupid this shit was.
As far as im concerned it's their house.. If you dont like it well beat em in their own house. Period
Wtf is the haka doing in United states collage football ? I thought the dancing girls stayed on the sidelines .....?
did they win ? hope so otherwise that Penalty will be remembered for the wrong reason lol
i don't think the haka had anything to do with the outcome of the game. don't think it intimidated the crusaders at all. they actually come out firing right until their first turn over.crusaders came out fired up and laid a few raiders out early.
raiders had to do what they needed to do to convince themselves they could actually with this game and it worked.
Superior talent and coaching won the game. Let us not forget Kahuku's 12th man as well (the crowd).
Hats off to Saint Louis though foreal. Excited to see Tagovailoa tear it up again next year. Would love to see a rematch in next year's State Championship.
st. Louis came out firing until they got ass raped in a new doodoo hole by a defensive unit that was ten mean
to me I think the haka was more a statement than an intimidation factor. it was also a challenge. lot of doubters on social media and on the scoringlive rankings. all the while kahuku was undefeated in the post season not once were they ranked fairly. and the haka plus the victory just shut them doubters up
they definitely made a statement with a convincing win. looking forward to BG next year. although mainland teams always want to lay hawaii schools after they lose the talent.
As a Aotearoa Maori I don't like this haka I don't mind haka being preformed but do it properly
That no haka that’s kaka
This haka is for realz. Not putting on a show for tourists at the Polynesian Cultural center.
some people mite say haka is a common thing in hawaii but myself being maori born n bred from new zealand....mite b common but it aint theres!...
Game was over after Kahuku finished the Haka. Congrats to Kahuku for being a class team, school and community.
SWEET SCIENCE! Great win congrats...
You are never wrong for doing the Haka!!!
don't see the all blacks pulling something like this during a match...
Maybe they can start winning some games. Too much haka kaka laka Dookie.
really? who does a Haka during the COIN TOSS? oh i guess Kahuku does.
Well aren't you a smart one🤔
pretty much the best time to haka.
religion has entered the game
cute
Your name is cute
lol hilarious
Why are they doing a New Zealand haka? That's disrespectful. They should make their own
May I suggest you try the Ha'a instead? It is specifically Hawaiian. It would benefit all of those involved to know their own wardance and spread the culture of Hawaii. Uplift your language and culture and be proud. I see some other teams have already started doing the ha'a. I look forward to Hawaiians embracing their culture and proudly displaying it to us all. Before it is lost forever...
Miss Tuwharetoa - Maybe ur ignorant ass should do more research of the community of Laiea in Oahu Hawaii. This Haka called "KaipaHua Kura" is specifically made for them from a Maori chief in their community. All the kids on that team and the people of that community is a mix of many Polynesian cultures. Hawaiian, Samoan, Tongan, Maori and Tahitian.
Miss Tuwharetoa - And don't worry about Hawaiians learning the Ha'a. We already have that covered. There's an all Hawaiian private school called Kamehameha who always do da Ha'a. Learn some respect bitch.
You could have a melting pot in the team, the soil under your feet is what counts the history and bloodline of the land u stand on is what you represent, and as such a Hawaiian Ha'a makes more sense then a Hawaiian Haka.
Think God, our division was II, that team is so disrespectful man. Think God da we won state championship for football, Radford. Radford is part of division II, and da team is Division I. I hate there team.
Losers going hate
Too bad you guys lost the Grammar Championships. FAIL, RADFORD. LOL
Radford is D2 because they cannot handle the D1 teams! Keep your D2 championship, NOBODY CARES.
najae808 As a matter of fact Radford is going against Kakukku whatever you said that name is, TONIGHT. And the reason why we are losing 0-4, it because we lost all of our seniors, am currently in Sophomore playing for JV. I just don't like that team this is a opinion. This our first time being in D1 division, so this is challenge. I wrote this during my advisory class.
0-4 LOL Good luck!
Who needs cheerleaders, cheerleaders are for casuals.
Doesn't mean Maori are ancestors. Doesn't mean you can use the term Haka. It's time to do the right thing Hawaii and use your own terms for warrior cry. Labelling everything under haka is offensive at times to Maori culture.
Maoris are not Polynesians - Stfu white boy
Wtf, first off Māori *are* Polynesians thanks, and this is far from disrespectful, they have tons of in Hawai'i as well as other Polynesians. They didn't just label this as a haka, they called it a haka because it IS a haka 😂💀
Maori are not Polynesian? Where you from? I'll 2nd that Bruno
