Sheesh, these comments are so negative. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. No need to try and tear down the builder or his brand.
Welcome to the internet
Well said.
I bought a Shabat t-style after picking one up and playing it. I couldn’t leave without it. Highly recommended!!
Very few peoole have that level of disposeable income 😁
Own multiple Shabats.
Also owned multiple other guitars that are now sold.
The quality of Shabat guitars is unreal. The attention to detail is crazy.
that black "LP custom" tele is unreal.
Perhaps my most favourite guitar channel
Just love the jam with pete and lee thanks and great wonderful year from tirol Austria
Tried the black over gold lion deluxe in store today, lovely guitar, wasn't expecting to like it that much!
Avi is an incredible talent with ton of skills and such a nice, humble guy. Great unique guitars he's making..
Lee’s phrasing in the into jam was great.
Lee is killing it on the introl!
Jason Lollar is alumni and taught my pickup winding class when I was in luthiery school a few years ago. Got me to stop overthinking everything I did, and not only did my pickups come out amazing, but my builds ended up far better than they would have been. I love seeing a video here talking about him, and I love that Shabat is getting more praise and promotion. There is art that people love, and then there is art that blows minds and makes people question everything they thought they knew. Avi is without a doubt the latter.
I got a set of Lollar P90s before I even knew we'd have a pickup winding class, little lone that he'd be teaching it. Got him to sign them before he left, and he told me about the person that wound them. He's a real curtains are blue because they're blue kind of person, which is refreshing in a field of people nitpicking the pointless.
Damn Captain, nice chops at the end there! 🤘
That black Tele is gorgeous.
Captain!!! Bravo 👏 and thank you
Man those guitars really ring acoustically! Always a good sign. Can't go wrong with Lollar pickups either.
Lee, you appeared to be not aware of the Charlie Christian pickup. I was a bit surprised.
Wow, WANT
Mr lover man ‘Shabat’!
Fresh!
I saw Justin Derrico playing the Snake Head on the Voice this year 🐍
That “meet the queen” comment had me rolling.
Awesome sounding guitars.
Looks like I will have to start working the docks again.
What a lovely way to start out 2k24! Question for Lee: Do you have any Lynx Links? Peace out, gotta run, lol
Beautiful guitars!
Bad boys bad setup
Well.... wow ! Unbelievable guitars!!
i love relic'd guitars man
35:29 Nice save Captain! 😂 British humour at it's best, also the laughing in the background just makes it even better. 😂😂😂
Love that black Tele and the snake head design!they sound really good!!
The PUMA all day long!!!! IF theres ever an ANdertons giveaway for one, I'm the #1 candidate. PLEASE!!!!!!!
What a nice geezer, a great spin on the more popular types. A great find for Andertons.
Avis guitars were the Best of Show at NAMM in my opinion. Worth mentioning the Entire time his huge booth was slammed busy relative to other booths there. Not surprised Pete came back talking about Shabat. If you get the chance to play one, you will probably buy it. So be careful lol.
Nice 👍
Michael Nielsen bought one last year and I swear it's in every video he makes. Loves it!
I am unapologetically a Fender Fan Boy through and through but I like these guitars! cool! thanks Lee!
“A fool and his money “
Captain looks like he’s been practicing a lot lately. Sounding great fellas
I own a Lion Custom. I got it used for a great price. It's an outstanding instrument!
Great videos just raining on this channel! Can you test different amps how well they work with different pedals?
(Some sound better than others)
Headstock looks like Pob - sound alright though
Odd question, but how often do you guys play standing up these days?
John player special, black Tele x
That seafoam green guitar with the bigsby is lovely. The world needs more Bigsby equipped guitars.
no it doesnt. the duesenberg trem is miles better. the bigsby is far too dated to be worth it
got across this brand in the past. Premium stuff
Avi is the man! Worked on a lot of my guitars. Amazing work and great guy.
„Mannheim“ was almost perfectly pronounced! 😁Just loving your channel! Greetings from Germany!🤙
GO CAP, that solo on the open tune was awesome. Cheers!
Like the black one....!
EDIT: So I should for nearly 5 grand!!!!
That Lion Deluxe is pure class
The headstock looks a lot my 1990 Shergold
Charlie Christian pickup is an absolute classic. Really surprised that Captain did not know that...
Are those typically low-output - need to alter specs? Thus redefine? I dunno.
Basically the USA version of PJD
That black and gold beastie can come and live with me! It looks, and sounds amazing.
you can do a whole south america trip with that kind of money bruh, mad people trippin on guitars over 5k
Does Andertons sell these chairs?
Nope - sorry!
@@andertons do you happen to have a link to where I can find them?
I have been keeping an eye on those Shabat for a while now…
Did Stevie Wonder design that Headstock ?
It looks like someone said "That'll Do " .
They mentioned that it was copied from the original design Leo used while developing the Tele/Broadcaster.
They look great except the headstocks… those are pretty rough
Nice that they hired a blind man to design the headstock!! lol
@@therileyobrien I guess beauty is subjective.. Not a fan, but to each their own.. It's practical...
That seafoam one is cool AF, it's just too bad it's so obnoxiously reliced. I'm not against relics or anything, but sometimes they just look fake and overly abused.
Exactly. I like worn in, not worn out
They’ll do it nos too
this guitar is just beautiful
if I only had that much money to spend on a guitar.
First time I discovered Shabat guitars was during the Namm Show 2013, when I watched Premier Guitar making a video of the new Bogner products. The guitarist who was doing the demo, Irving Thomas, was playing a Shabat Tele with the snakehead (and onather pickup switch selector) and it sounded awesome. Very happy to see that brand finally imported in Europe!
The LA custom tradition of Kurt Cobain’s Danny Ferrington Fender Mustang.
Why does that chord progression sound like weezer????
I’m here just for the intro jams, to be honest
Those guitars look like they are extremely well built and I'll take the Captain's word that they play good, but do we really need another "knock-off" relic line of guitars?
Seems like a nice guy and I wish him good luck, but he is bringing "sand to the beach" as we used to say.
Exactly those guys should put their talents in doing original things, because at the end of the day nobody cares (or the majority) if they are well built people want that name on the headstock and non copi of an strat is gonna sound more "strat" than a fender Stratocaster!
And I assume this is one of those guitars that you only buy if you 'fall in love', and plan to KEEP it? I assume you won't get your $3600 back out of it if you ever decided to sell? Although, are there many used examples available? They might make a bit more financial sense at half the price?
To answer your question, I played his guitars at NAMM 23, and Yes. In fact his guitars are better put together and finished than 90% of any other F style guitar I’ve played at the price point. They are very welcome, don’t forget competition breeds excellence. More competition is only a good thing for the consumer.
Fret work is silly good. I’d buy a Shabat 10/10 over a comparable fender just for fit and finish alone.
What a great guy 🙂
Love the shapes and the sounds of these guitars. Add me to the group who are not a fan of relic aesthetic. 😅
The black T style looks great, I don't like the other headstock.
Unique headstocks for sure. I have mixed feelings about the look. It doesn’t scream “cool expensive guitar”
More like “scrappy and quirky” which is a good thing but not what I’m used to on something high-end.
Very cool guitars!
The Lion Deluxe would look amazing if it wasn't relic'd
Great - you can absolutely just order one of those then :)
God save the King
The prices 🤣
pretty nice but not worth $3500+
They remember me that old brand guitars Fender , very similar to their models , apart from the headstock , but i believe at some point they also had that same headstock shape . Leo Fender i believe was the inventor 😊
I find that relic'd guitars are okay, but this guy really got the neck relic spot on!!!! {Unlike Fenders necks, like if a snotty 5 year old drew the soooooo un natural looking necks}
Awesome guitars.
avi is a great example of the talent and innovation that flows out of israel. oz noy, another. There are too many amazing musicians and innovators in israel or from israel to mention.
but it is worth mentioning. Even if Lee and Avi avoid any mention of the word “israel” during the discussion about shabbat’s origins for obvious business reasons. That’s a shame i reckon since avi should be openly proud of his heritage but, as someone who is half-jewish and pro-israel, i get it.
It is a shame indeed.
I can barely understand why Lee would want to avoid that, but I'd expect Avi to be disagree with that.
Well, maybe in few years folks from you-know-where won't be able to visit Andertons anymore. Sad times.
Perhaps he is avoiding it to take politics and bias out of the equation and make it purely about guitars. You have a pro bias, but there will be some out there with an anti bias because of the actions of the Netanyahu govt. I think Lee is prudent to avoid the geopolitcis, because geopolitics has nothing to do with this.
@@pepmasters-999you just implied politics. i merely think its a shame a simple question like “so whered you start your company” cant even be asked. Avi dhould be able to reply “oh our first shop was in israel!” and then the conversation moves on still about guitars from there. maybe a comment about how the dry air was good for the wood or whatever.
also i was clear to state the fact i understoodwhy the very mention of the word israel was avoided-just sad that someone like u even thinks about netenyahu in the context of a guitar builder who happens to be israeli. idgaf about netenyahu.
👊
So you simultaneously say you understand why mention of Israel was avoided but don't understand? Disingenuous.
@@pepmasters-999no dude. i understand it. but i dont like it. no one should be ashamed to be israeli and no Israeli should be afraid to say they’re proud to be a successful, productive and creative israeli bringing joy to the world by building beautiful boutique guitars. But hamas and the 70% of palestinians who voted them into power and continue to support the psychotic and gleeful slaughter of oct 7 should be afraid of israelis. very very afraid. anyhow, you dragged my comment into the geopolitical realm-i was just noting the sad fact post oct 7 of an israeli guitar builder and a jewish music store head having to avoid even uttering the word “israel” thereby erasing avi’s interesting and relevant origin story for fear of all manner of reprisal. furthermore, when lee interviewed oz noy at length last year the topic of the israeli music scene and oz’s own origins were 50% of a very wide ranging and interesting interview.
the contrast now is sad. Even if u hate israel and blame them for all your problems, avi and lee anderton shouldnt have to worry about being on your enemies list just for discussing where a guitar company got started. its a f$&@ing woke joke. 😘peace out.
Avi’s neckz r beyond stellar. It’s great Anderton’s is carrying Shabat now; Fridays r nice
capt lee used to be so shit but intro was hella nice. pete excellent as always
I went in to the video expecting to... "not appreciate" this but there's something different about these. I'd have that black delux, six a side, in minty-fresh condition.
I don't care how good these are, I was out at the 10 second mark after first sighting that headstock.
It is an affront to all things holy.
It’s Leo Fender’s original headstock design….
My issue isn't that it lacks heritage, it's that it is hideous
Generally cool, but would never buy anything with that rectangular headstock. Looks wrong on PRS, and looks wrong here
Say it ain't so! :)
Sorry, I still don't get the relic thing.
#DanishPete the NEW #PrinceofDenmark #PurpleRain #PurpleTele
Also, I hate that amazing boutique guitars like these get over shadowed by the big name stuff. That prevents the new PRS from rising up and becoming what PRS is today.
Do do you like "boutique" builders or big name companies like PRS?
In the world of guitar manufacturers they are all trying to sell you their "brand".
That's why I'm a proponent of "buy with your ears and not your eyes."
I own several guitars that were not made by well known brands and they are great.
@@charlie-obrien I love boutique guitars. But just like the Fender custom shop, and high end Gibson and PRS etc, they are often out of my price range. But the general stance seems to
Be they are “lesser” quality because they a rent from the big brands. Which is crap
Bit pricey 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
Lee's getting better and better, as if sitting next to Pete rubs off.
I’ve never thought I had a particularly negative opinion about headstock shapes beyond whether I like the overall look of a guitar or not. Maybe it’s just late and I’m tired, but my immediate reaction within seconds of this video was, “What the hell is that pig ugly headstock all about”. Small minded perhaps but it just goes to show how polarising such things can be even for a person that thought they were open minded about all brands and models/shapes of guitars 🤷♂️
Why don’t you promote UK custom builders?
There was one on the channel about 4 weeks ago. Can't remember the name of the guy.
First 😂
Interesting decision to start stocking these guitars during this particular time in history 💩
Why all the relic guitars? / Relic guitars are awesome! *delete as appropriate and move on….
Could the headstocks possibly be any more hideous?
Hate the headstock, soz.
If you're in the market for a guitar that will hold its value and be worth more than its retail price, stay away from anything that has the words, "Custom Shop", "Reissue" or "Signature" or anything similar.
Yeah those Les Paul customs are worth pennies on the dollar now 🙄
Wear and tear on a guitar have to be earned not bought !!
Relic guitars meh
Oh look another boring tele copy, even the headstock isn’t original! YAWN JAFT!
