First time I heard Lorelei on the radio I didn't know what i was listening to, but I knew the world had changed forever for me. It will always be one of my favorite songs of theirs. They lift the veil to a world that seems to lie within us like hidden treasure. It is much more than music. I don't even think they knew what they were discovering at the time.

almost nobody except you and someone else reacts to Cocteau Twins in all youtube, congrats!
Lorelei belongs to the album Treasure, at this point the band began to familiarize more with another type of production, which look well reflected in 'Blue Bell Knoll' or 'Heaven Or Las Vegas'
However Treasure is still my favorite, I listen to that album always

Im old enough to remember when the album Treasure came out (Lorelei). The goth clubs I went to in the 80's used to play Lorelei. Treasure is still my favorite album by far. It makes me so happy to see young people discovering and enjoying the Cocteau Twins. Good job Gabe.

Like your reaction..one of those bands that evolved with every album sounding ever so unique in their owned artistic signature that many others have taken notes and drew from in creating their music...the list goes with bands that fall under the category of dream/shoegaze..brilliantly they are neither categorized in that genre...to me..they are their category...great artistic ear!! Try how to bring a blush to the snow...

Really glad you decided to keep on reacting to Cocteau Twins as not so many people do. Very hard to recommend songs from them as I like them all (except from "Garland", their debut album which is much darker), but my favourite one is "Fifty-Fifty Clown" for it's happy/sad quality (they're very good at this!). Try "Blue Bell Knoll" for it's vocals excellency, you won't be disapointed as Elizabeth's voice is just amazing on it and maybe "Lazy Calm" because it's the most perfect song to relax and feel what serenity means. But if you're looking to an amazing vocal performance, try "The High Monkey Monk", a song which was never released on an album, EP or single, but you'll find it on youtube. A very rare and unusual song, but a great one!

'Heaven or Las Vegas' A side might be the best in alternative music. 4AD records gave the world shoegaze, timeless music.

take a look at the EPs they made too, tiny dynamine , echoes in a shallow bay, love's easy tears, aikea guinea, sunburst and snow blind. but try to listen to another day this mortal coil it's a cover of a roy harper song but it's a wonderful one. there is just so many great songs though, multifoiled and my love paramour, the gold dust rush. worth a listen for her earlier vocal style( 1983 ish)
