WHO WE ARE
SkyFi Audio is a small startup business specializing in the purchase, reconditioning, and reselling of select high end audio equipment. We only buy equipment that we admire and are passionate about. No mid-fi, no gimmicks, and no junk.
Each piece of equipment is cosmetically restored and fully tested in our well-equipped lab by an engineer with 30+ years of experience in the HiFi world. If it does not meet or exceed the original manufactures specifications, it will not be sold. We are very selective about the equipment we purchase, focusing on mostly analog, high-build quality, American, and European built units.

This comment is for Anybody who attended THE LOFT and or PARADISE GARAGE ... these are (the older style he shows) the speakers that LARRY LEVAN wanted for the early version of the GARAGE. He (And Frankie Knuckles) first heard some at The LOFT in the early 1970s and fell in love with them. He wanted to have these setting on top of some LaScala basshorns (super rare). TOO MUCH YOU SAY?!! WELL, as some of you know, LARRY was a BASS MONSTER, i forget the reason WHY he or management decided not to go with the set up, but had they did .... it would have been special.
CZcams turned into themtube. Shame on youtube
Have been using a set of LaScala II with a Benchmark AHB2 amplifier and DAC3 HGC preamp the past 3 years. Very 'clean' sound. No amplifier hiss or other extraneous noise whatsoever--something you might expect with a fairly sensitive (at least 100 db/watt/meter) loudspeaker. That said, they play as loud as you probably want with a low powered tube amp. A few watts will suffice. So take your pick. It's a different kind of hi-fi sound than the modern studio monitor thing. Not for everyone. Subjective, for sure. If you have the room and the means, they are certainly worth a serious audition.
One of the best speakers out there
You have the oak finish, not walnut 😂
I first heard these back in the '70's when they also had the Belle Klipsch, a finished version of the pro LaScala's. The Belles had a different bass sound than the LaScala's and I hate to disagree with you but I'll take the Klipschorn looks to get the Klipschorn sound which is much fuller and richer than either the Belle or LaScala any day of the week! If people have a jaw dropping experience listening to the LaScala, have them hold their pants up listening to the Klipschorn's! I always felt like I was in the middle of the hall or band depending on how well the recording was made, K-Horns rock! Great review, looking forward to the next one! Thanks
I love how they match the grain from top to bottom. Beautiful detail.
Thanks - Me dreaming about there. Two probs, have to win in a lottery & on the wrong side of the planet.
i have a friend who owns a complete mcintosh system ,he bought it in early 90´s ,and recentelly he bought the lascala model from klipsch ,i have to say it doesn´t pair up ,the JBL speakers he had before were much better sound releasing ,i also own some klipsch but the cornwall model or similar with a 82 sony power amplifier and it´s pre using as sources a reel deck from akai bought at the same time as the sony amplification system from ESprit series, using a PL-560 from Pioneer , 79 model also a Teac V-5000 cassette deck and a akai reel deck that is the 79 model GX something ,i have others , the two i have from the 70´s akai do sound very good also my first was a akai X-165D from 1970 and still today records and plays perfect ,only ferric tapes ,more modern ones ,even type I but those "professional" from basf stay with a distortion on top of the highest frequencies, but with only regular maintenance, never failed since then ,i have from other brands but in 79 i went again for akai and i still am happy with the choice i´ve made, this speakers are a old model and i think a good speaker needs a good wooden shaped box to drive the sound before released, my old klipsch are very good sounding with this recentelly restored amplification system , Sony from 82 ,which i was never a fan of this brand but for other reasons than their amplifiers, if enough powered this LaScala are real well done speakers
Don’t forget to include the Belle Klipsch in this Heritage lineup, of which I own a pair, along with a pair of K-horns and Heresy’s. Fed from my McIntosh MC-225 or MC-240 or MC-2000, I’m not sure there any better musical sound this side of Heaven!!!
An old friend owned La Scala speakers, his amp was an NAD C298. I didn't see my friend often, but every time I walked into his home I would hear beautiful music playing in another room. Even without seeing them I'd catch myself saying: "Oh! Yes, that's the La Scalas I hear, of course, there's nothing like them." To be in the same room with the audio turned down, they were unobtrusive, yet the music had a presence few other speakers can replicate.
Look forward to each of your Vids Fernando, love the passion, keep em coming
