Ronnie played pro basketball in our country & almost led the team he was in to the finals...Great scorer, has a knack for slashing in the paint & can drop from afar...One of the best to ever play pro in our country
I got dunked on by Ronnie Fields, and I couldn't even be mad about it. Dude is MAD GIFTED
your so damn lucky
I got dunked all over by Allen Houston in high school.
When has getting dunked become a badge of honor🤦♂️I can't make this ish up ctfu🤣 and you'll co-signing the bs🤣
i remember ronnie. watching the guy was magical scored like 40 against us still cant believe he didnt get a chance at the league. he will allways be a legend to me.
This would make for a great ESPN 30 for 30 Story.
Growing up in Chicago and going to HS in the mid 90's...I can honestly say, I had the pleasure of seeing Ronnie and KG play...live! It was like going to a(n) NBA game!
Ive had the honor of having a conversation with him. Very humble and intelligent person. Glad this is on youtube.
CALLING ALL MY 90s HS HOOP FANS (Back when basketball was "Elite" at the High School level in Chicago) Ronnie FIELDS WAS THAT DUDE... wish he never got side tracked tho. True Chicago Legend in HS & in the Pick up game circuit
im from peoria,Il and i saw ronnie play in the gus macker bball tourn in peoria when i was younger and his team was unstoppable and he was dunking on everyone like it was his job!
So exciting to see so many people learning about Ronnie and hopefully taking something away from this- we are still trying to raise contributions to finish everything- if you can contribute so we can finish this during the summer that would be greatly appreciated! The link to contribute is below the video and also embedded on the video itself-
When I was 8 year old my dad took me to the state tournament at the peoria civic center and I remember Ronnie Fields dropped like 70 in a game. It was the most incredible thing I have ever seen. I have created him in so many video games in my life lol
Ronnie's a legend in the Midwest and obviously across the country.!
the song is DeMarco Castle - Ronnie Fields
love the Ronnie Fields song
THIS IS A MUST WATCH
That Was Awesome.. I Got To See The Full Story..
Ron great video ...see u still doing great things for the community .... Felt
the guy survived a car accident and is still dunking to this day. freak!!!
I cannot believe I have not heard of this guy before, it makes me sick as a basketball fan, that they don't give this guy the respects he deserves. I would have been 4 so understandably wouldn't have heard from him at a high school level, but his story should have been told over and over again... I cannot believe this is the first time i'm hearing this! ahhhhh! THIS DOCUMENTARY NEEDS TO BE WATCHED EVERYWHERE!
This is the first time I saw this video about this legendary high school player. Feel sorry bout him. Even though nba did'nt gave him a chance to play, he still proved himself to other leagues.
who could DISLIKE this ? -.- awesome video.....
I’m 30, and I still tell people about Ronnie Fields.
Not even gravity can dislike this, it was somebody else.
I remember watching him on the nightly news way before espn was the one stop highlight shop. I seen this brother run full speed as if crazed dogs were on his tail while crossing three defenders over in midcourt. Sick. . .and that's not even the half
Imagine NBA Slam Dunk Contest with Mr Basketball of Florida 1995 and Mr. Basketball of Illinois 1996 - Vince Carter and Ronnie Fields !! I'd pay to watch it on TV,not to talk about watching it in person!
god dam... this dude was steve francis x5
THEY SHOULD STILL SIGN HIM TO THE NBA TILL THIS DAY
one of the best dunker who motivated me to continu to dunk! Df
Coulda been a nba hall of famer i seen him play the kid was special
Day 10 of Quarantine...
youtube got interesting again
In 1999/2000 Ronnie took the summer off and we used to shoot around with him in his back yard. I beat him 11-9 and I was talking a bit. We aged again and he beat me 11-0 in about 2 minutes. He's truly an amazing basketball player and a really good person too. He deserved a shot.
cool stuff
Privileged to have worked with him covering the Skyrockets in the rebooted CBA... dude could still play, fadeaways for days!
Been looking for footage of that dunk contest he won forever
what's the piano theme at 0:58
So sad yet very inspiring
About time someone put a story together on him...
i want to see the full documentary
I remember him playing in PBA with Tanduay back in 99
Ronny Fields was cold as hell
what's the name of the song and artist name?
One hellva gifted ball player!!!
He played for the Rockford lightning. I wish living in West Palm Beach at the time. I spoke with him a couple of times before games. He was a super nice guy. I hope Garnett gave him a couple mil.
Did you see those dunks,my gosh man !!!!! I need to work a little more harder in life my life i see good stuff right here !!!
I saw Ronnie play twice in high school and at a Nike camp. He was a freakish athlete, and his dunk contest with Schea Cotton was ridiculous.
They also had Michael Wright who did make the league for a little while as well. Played at Arizona.
Awesome to see everyone coming here from WSHH! If you are able to make a contribution to help in completing this project that would be greatly appreciated! - Thank you everyone!
Hes still a legend
Anybody know where I can get this documentary?

Dope!!
you probably dont give a damn but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account??
I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Judson Bradley instablaster ;)
I played ball on the westside of the Chicago against Fields and this dude was booming on regulation rims in 7th grade. I was a John Marshall HS Commando(Hoop Dreams) and he(Ronnie) was a Farragut Admiral he and KG rep that westside killing my school an anything on the westside of Chicago and being a westsider I hated the fact that they lost to southside Thornton HS with Melvin Ely & Tai Streets.
Much Success Ronnie, I will support without a doubt!
Love the song! Download link?
The music in this video comes from Gemstones who use to roll with Lupe Fiasco back in the day. The guy who rap on the hook for Dumb it Down!
wow never thought of that
the music is from Gemstones. That guy who use to roll with Lupe Fiasco back in the day
Great story
He was going to the league 100, but his car accident was cold blooded. He was a pro for real, he was at Nike Camp in the 9th grade
Can we get this song on Apple Music or something?
LEGEND! whats that song at the end
Stories you hear about Garnett being the 2nd best player on that team are damn true. Fields was sick!
I hope this is made into a film of some sort :)
God bless Ronnie
What's the name of the song at the end?
whats the name of the song hellp me ???
4:36 Anyone knows what music is that?
whats the name of the song ????
yoo that song goes hard!!! whats it called????
hopefully this doc. will make it, we know the story about len bias and we have the question what if len bias played in the NBA, now we can know about Ronnie's story. What if he played in the NBA. What If?
What is the name of this song? Its awesome.
poor guy..imagine how dominant he would be if he went to the nba
what does he says at 2:41?
the name of the song ??please
This sort of reminds me of a book i read this year in english, called Friday Night lights, and how Boobie Miles of Permian High School had a similar experience as Ronnie fields. Boobie was a star running back who was basically on his way to the NFL, but then he tore his ACL and his dream of making it never happened.
wats the name of the song
We we're all waiting for Ronnie Fields....and then came the accident. I used to race to get the paper on Saturday mornings to see what he did the night before. When Kevin Garnett is the second best player on your team...
who made the song at the end?
I hope kg steps up and funds this. This needs to be made.
whats the song?
nope, he is 6'3". So if he had a 48 inch (4ft) vertical , the vertex of his head would be 3 inches over the rim. 3 more inches to have a 51 inch vertical would have his head 6 inches over the rim. Show me on any footage where he has his head 6 inches over the rim. And vertical leaps are measured standing, not running. But regardless , even with a running start, show me where he gets his head 6 inches over the rim. He can definitely jump but I don't see a 51 inch vert.
on a team featuring Kevin Garnett, Ronnie Fields was the best player on it. KG will (well I dunno about now) readily admit as much
reminds me of the GOAT
I hope he lands a job for the NBA or something... coach or assistant coach that'll be good
Dayum
KG should donate!
Earl "theGoat" could touch the top of the backboard with ease. Look him up to.
That was a myth even Earl said so himself
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this project! We are 70% funded with 8 days to go. If you are able to contribute it is greatly appreciated- Thank you!
Michael Wright was on this team also
what can i say he was the greatest basketball player i new when growing up with him in my 4 years of highschool and macking jokes also with kevin garnet that he would call me "hey ese" lol but my buddy ronnie should off went to the nba and would off been the next micheal jordan hes a cool cat !!
this film is not ready?
feel sorry for this guy
Checkout Lenny Cooke's story. He was rated above LeBron in HS.
Why aren't there any footage of my boy Michael Herman on CZcams?
im not hating on ronnie. How tall is Ronnie Fields?
1993-96?
Best High School players.
They become future of NBA.
Meaning these type multi-tooled Athletic Basketball players
he would of bin 1 of best dunkers to play the game
I try to tell people, basketball is a sport that's very political.
swagggggg
i was shocked when Vince Carter practically said his dunks where better then his
Dang
my uncle taught at Farragut Academy during their CPS
He could have been one of the great ones for real.
ronnie fields and schea cotton, 2 of the most tragic stories of guys who coulda and shoulda been
