    This seems to be the only solution to turning off the alarm you get when your cartridge is empty... Yes, I know it's empty, I don't need a reminder every three minutes, and I definitely don't need it to be this loud either. The alarm that goes off when my basal rate goes below 50% is equally annoying: I know it has dropped below 50% as I have just done that myself a few minutes ago.
    With all these excessive 'safety measures' it surprises me that the entry field for units of insulin is free to enter when you want to give a bolus - I have once (in confusion) entered units instead of carbs - so the one place where you need security, it actually lacks. Yes, you need to confirm, but sometimes your head is in other places (diabetes related or not).

      Hi Claudia. Thank you for providing this feedback to us. We will be sure that this is documented with our Product Development team. Please know, pump sound volume is set to high, but can be personalized for Alarms, Alerts, Reminders, Keypad, Bolus, Quick Bolus, and Fill Tubing. Options for volume include high, Medium, Low, and Vibrate. This can be changed in Pump Volume in Pump Settings. As a precaution, do not use the vibration feature for alerts and alarms during sleep unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider. Having the volume for alerts and alarms set to high will help ensure that you don't miss an alarm or alert.

    This is ridiculous that you cannot silence this pump and disconnect it for an set time without it beeping very loudly. I could set this alarm to vibrate on my medtronic 670g so saying that the FDA requires this alarm to be audible is a lie. Same goes for the alert that sounds everytime my blood sugar goes above 200. I gave myself the insulin to cover the food I just ate. I dont need the pump telling me that my blood sugar is above 200 when I just gave myself enough insulin to cover it. This encourages bolus stacking, which causes dangerous low blood sugar levels. Also, not warning users about how you cannot silence these alarms is very deceitful. I am now roped into using this pump for 4 years until the warranty runs out and insurance can pay again.

      It is frustrating sometimes. But I know when my sugar is 200 I like to be made aware. I try to bolus only small amts, so as not to lower too much. I also know when it's going low to give it time if I've just finished eating short time before. My issue is if I have surgery I will probably have to turn off which I've never done before.

Even when u try to stop the basal or reduce it it always has to beep. I understand they do it to prevent hazards but they went too overboard and took away our autonomy from this pump. So if you take it out of storage mode, will it still keep your settings and current insulin? Because if so, this sounds like a great way to stop that damn pump alarm every few minutes when you’re taking a shower! Incredibly annoying and you can’t shut it up without shutting up actually important alarms! Bad design. So does turning it off completely allow you to turn it back on and resume insulin delivery?

    • @tandemdiabetes
      @tandemdiabetes  Před 3 lety

      When a pump is put in storage mode, it does keep the personal settings. However the pump disconnects from the cartridge and, upon turning it back on, it will show no insulin in the cartridge. @@tandemdiabetes Ok, then for the love of god, pretty please with sugar on top: allow us to set time-outs for these alarms. Eg: if I manually stop the insulin (eg: shower), I want to be unbothered for *at least* 20 minutes. Having a device screaming at you every few minutes is super annoying and wakes up the entire home. And I would disable all alarms to stop it, I have to risk forgetting to turn them on and not get any alarms when a serious problem occurs. I'm sure Tandem doesn't want that either. So please use that software updater for something good and add this in! :) We don't have to be able to disable them completely, but a longer user-defined time-out (eg: up to 30 minutes) would be much appreciated. :)

    Have to do this every time this broken thing gets the altitude alarm. The altitude alarm doesn't let you resume insulin for an undetermined length of time, so you turn the pump off. Then it wants you to replace the cartridge, so you waste 10-13 units of insulin refilling the tubing and wait 2 hours restarting the CGM. My last tslim x2 never even gave me the altitude alert, but when it's screen cracked, tandem sent me this "refurbished" piece of junk pump. I've had 3 altitude alarms in the past 24 hours making a total of 5 this week. Along with several unexplained Occlusion Alarms. At this rate my sugar's doing worse than it did using insulin pens.

    Any updates on all the comments where you said these complaints/suggestions would be "passed along to your Product Teams"??? Every comment that complained about the same thing you gave a generic response to all of them, some of them over 1 year ago and no follow ups or updates.. So the question is will something actually be done about any of these comments from ACTUAL everyday users of your product??

    • @tandemdiabetes
      @tandemdiabetes  Před 2 lety

      Hi Ashton. We do document all feedback with the appropriate teams for consideration. While not all suggestions may be incorporated, they are taken into consideration and discussed by the corresponding teams. Because everything is dependent on FDA review and approval, we’re not able to provide updates or speculate whether certain features will ultimately be approved.

    • @tandemdiabetes

      We know ill-timed alerts can be very inconvenient. Pump sound volume is set to high, but can be personalized for Alarms, Alerts, Reminders, Keypad, Bolus, Quick Bolus, and Fill Tubing.

      Please know, we do not recommend turning the pump off for any other reason other than troubleshooting with our Technical Support team, as it is a medical device. When a pump is put in storage mode, it disconnects from the cartridge and, upon turning it back on, it will show no insulin in the cartridge.

    The Tslim has some great features but it has some mind-blowingly frustrating and stupid features as well, this is one of them. People with diabetes don't want to be fighting against inane and annoying features when they already have to do that with the condition. Certainly you can make foolproof ways to cycle a pump that don't include giving your hand a charlie horse. Invite Tslim to do some sort of market research on these features because good lord.

    need to shut off ALL AUDIBLE alarms. ALL. It is going to cost me my job because coworkers and customers panic. It is going to cause a car accident obnoxiously frequent alarms driving. Tandem is building devices with no knowledge of the amount of time it take for oral sugar to rise blood glucose? absolutely no idea? Pump alarms loud over and over, 10 times, in the amount of time it takes blood glucose to rise? We need to get together with a class action law suit for negligence. I even got thrown out of church for "An electronic device not alarm not turned off. How many people have died taking their seatbelt off and drive into bridge abutments trying to shut the screaming alarm off?
    Is there a hack, or schematic of pump so I know where to drill a hole to hit the specker and destroy it? It's actually alarmed 6 times right now, because they are too ignorant to know how long it takes insulin to bring down a sugar. Thats negligence.
    Need a link to a schematic on where to drill a hole or how to crack case open to get to that speaker and rip out. Biggest th9ng is in the medical field called "Alarm fatigue." It's when medical worker are bombarded with so many alarms, that they just don't hear any any more, and people die. Tamed is 30 years behind the alarm fatigue curve.

    This is a really annoying and unnecessary. When I want the pump to shut down, stay quiet, I do not always have a power source to plug into. Sometimes when an issue arises, such as occlusion alarm, I may be in a meeting & I just want to turn the power off until I can fix it at an appropriate time.

    I know this post is a little late but if your doctor recommends this pump, then run as fast as you can. Worst pump ever! Impossible to turn back on once you have turned it off, usually takes 1-2 hours. It will turn on but immediately shuts off. And BTW, the Control IQ technology does not work either.
